Well, if you want a good, cheap deep cycle battery, get an Duralast blue top. I got one for $80 today, however, every now and then, autozone's facebook page will distribute coupons, and the one they have now will drop the price to $65
@alienhddna The solar panel was $20, but with shipping is was near $40. It is a 24 volt mono crystalline panel, down converted to put out 12 volts @ 10 watts. Right now these panels 12 or 24 volts go $80-$100 with shipping on ebay.
hmmmmmm... one watt, if you ment your system would suck! but for only $120 not bad. however 20 watts is not very powerful, companies have up to 300 watt panels now, at least it meets your needs.
Hi. I guess you'll have some gadgets you want to dispose of, such as 12V lights, solar panels and fans. Can we negotiate on some of them? My email is pharyntee@yahoo.com
Hey, I am thinking of putting together a solar charge pack. I was wondering if you could tell me if an Asunpower 20 Watt 12 Volt Solar Panel would be good to connect to a Duracell 300 Powerpack. Also, would I need the charge controller if I connected the two? Thanks!
@futrebartender5 That would be a great combo and you could probably get away without the charge controller. The duracell powerpacks are rigged to accept a solar panel with a barrel plug end( the ac adapter charging port), It uses the automatic charger built into the power pack to function as a charge controller. A second choice would be to use the cigarette lighter adapter, but this would require a separate charge controller as it is not regulated by the internal one.
Great video it looks like you have plenty of batteries to charge. Now you are hooked this is very addicting.I started with a treadmill motor wind turbine 1 year ago now I have about 4000w of solar a home made 1000w wind turbine a micro hydro generator.and I still want more.TAKE CARE and have fun
@michael970 Thanks and your right, I am now addicted to making my own power (I scan around everyday looking for new panels and things to learn). I plan to eventually have a grid tie setup with a deep cycle golf cart battery bank to run tv's and computers. 4000 watts is a ton of power! I wish I had your setup. Come to think of it, I just threw a treadmill with a perfectly working motor out a few years ago.....Wish I knew about this kinda stuff back then and kept the motor.

hey, i want to build something good enought to pick up my ps3, tv and computer. any one would have any ideas or other videos to see?
culoattack 1 year ago
@culoattack You would need around a minimum $1000-$2000 setup to run those daily off of solar.
Look up "small residential solar power system" by user desertsun02
He runs his computer, fans and tv off of his (I think his cost around $1000-$1300)
My setup has been upgraded since this video, but it's still not enough to run high draw items daily.
Thanks for watching

Great video.
I'll have a system that's built-in solar on my bug-out vehicle soon :)
Watch this space and these are the videos on it for now:
