Federer is an excellent player with a very flexible style of play. He went in expecting to get an easy half volley on either side of him but was faced with a shot nicely placed to his feet and towards his body. While Federer was able to cleanly return this shot, it wasn't a winner. Mostly, it was because the other player was caught off guard that he returned the between-the-legs shot poorly, which was promptly put away by Federer's backhand.
Nadal and Federer. They are two opposite tennis players. Nadal is a beast, his game is based on physical condition, his strength, in a very unconfortable top spin and in a very solid game (is the player with less unforced errors on the circuit).
On the other hand, Federer is the technique and the quality , the most talented player on whole history.Certainly, both are the best of the history
how the hell is that possible!!??! haha does federer practice this? i mean you dont just instinctively hit it between your legs... haha and it seems like everytime he does that he makes it. i would like to see ONCE where he did those kind of shots and didnt make them...
lol. Well, the guy at the net just cracked up and gave Fed the point after that amazing shot. Just attempting an amazing shot deserves to win the point. THe guy at the net would've put that second volley away very easily, but Fed deserved that point cuz of that amazing shot.
@uNiteDStaTesofPOP SIMPLY LOSER sampras GS finals is 14-4 wins federer GS finals 16-7 wins sampras cursed agassi during their battle of GS 4-1 nadal cursed federer during their battle of GS 5-1 during sampras 12 years initial record breaking 17 GS champions during federer 16 GS record breaking only 4 other GS champion statistically sampras is the best tennis ever. GOAT = PETE SAMPRAS GLOATAN = ROGER FEDERER as a clue "n" stands for Nadal
Today Federer is the best player of all time (+1 more Grand Slam Titeles) than Sampras. So no point to argue that Nadal is better at this point. Just wait and see what happens.
guys stop arguing about who is better, just appreciate that this is an amazing shot and federer is genius.
no, i did not say he was the best, because if i did no doubt i would start another debate. if you wana argue about it, go on a tennis forum or something. dont ruin the vid =]

btw what you said about the inguries thing.. that makes no sence bro i think you should maybe read your comments b4 you post retarded shit.. and make yourself look like an idiot.
hmmm, let's see. marat safin has HOW many grandslams again?? oh yeah. TWO. and he's retired. rafa has 6 grandslams and he's only 23. yeah his game is physical. yes it may eventual ware on his body, but i think he's got a few slams left. we'll see.
btw, i am a marat safin fan. i am disappointed that he had SOOO much talent and let it go to waste
I couldn't care less how many slams Marat has, it's a miracle he won 2 with the amount of injuries he has had. You're not a Safin fan if you didn't know this, you're just somebody who started watching tennis this year.
how could i have started watching tennis this year when i became a safin fan in 2000 after he beat sampras at the uso?? i, unlike you, won't make excuses for someone who had the potential to make it really big, but squandered their chances. sure injuries might have contributed, but his lack of commitment was a factor too. safin let his fans down and he let himself down. he was WAAAYY too talented to only have 2 slams.
also, rafa i respect because he works hard to win big.
anyway, i only stated facts in my first comment and that seemed to mortally offend you, so i just assumed you were one of those fans who made excuses for the person you support.
and i'm not a glory hunter. i'm a fan of talent and character. safin had talent in spades and lots of character, but no commitment. i became a fan of rafa in 2005 mainly because i was amazed at how poised he was for his age and the fact that he's talented, determined, and has a great character.
Sound angry...although you have no idea what tone I'm intending to come across in, you must be special, and yes, you're still an idiot.
Fan of Rafael Nadal in 2005, why not 2004? Cause he didn't win a slam then? hmmm...
Gloryhunter?
This is a huge misconception about Safin, that he doesn't work hard, a few players of recent have spoke out about this and say that this is bullshit. Marat, at times, during his career, was in unbelievable shape.
you still sound angry, overly aggresive, whatever you wanna call it. also i had stopped watching mens tennis by 2004. it was really all about the wta. i didn't like anyone until i saw rafa. i love ppl who put their hearts on their sleeves, that's why i had always loved safin. if that makes me a gloryhunter then fine, lol
well you're the one that name called and continues to do so for no reason. so i think, yes, you're being overly aggressive. and EVERYONE calls nadal rafa. just like i refer to federer as feds, haas as tom, etc. i give all the ppl i support nick names. i don't know these ppl personally, but i like their game/attitude/everything. again, if you think that's glory hunting then let me help you:
GHLOVER2001 is a "GLORY HUNTER" for supporting ppl like: tom, feds, raf, & safin
"Nobody calls Federer "feds" except little fanboys who are 14 and I've never heard one person call Haas "tom" hahahahahahahhaa. "
--and nobody called you cool so stfu (and btw just because youve never heard anyone call Haas "Tom" doesnt mean that hes never called that way. dumbass. )
and when I say lost motivation, I mean during times in 2006 and 07 when he was playing in pain and was frustrated and threw a few matches.
In the end of 07 he worked terribly hard and was in great shape in 08, but the results still did not come. It's misfortune that he's had so many injuries and that the knee injury was detrimental.
Why the hell are you still going on even after ghlover let you have the win? Trying to hard to seem like someone you're not? Too stubborn? Maybe you should stop acting like a child and be nice to women. You might be 6'4 and a great tennis player, but you obviously have no respect. Grow up.
This is not super trick. It's super cool. Club tennis players can do that, it's just that in pro matches there will be more pursue of benefit than exhibitionalism. If it wasn't for Henmann who went with the spirit of Federer, he would smash that easy ball for a winner, and the title of the video would be "Henmann punishes Federer's arrogance".
Is hard to see it in this quality video...but did he heat it with the frame? it looks like that the racket is not open when it goes through the legs..
@supergirlyal he's DEFINITELY not unbeatable !! djoko just beat him..he's about 3000 points below nadal..just lost to berdych in this year's wimbledon as well..that's unbeatable !? learn some tennis instead of jumping on fed bandwagon! :)
Of course he can be beaten in match, every player gets older and weaker. But he is the best tennis player EVER. He's won 16 Grandslams and thats makin him unbeatable.
@Holali1 Who was Federer's competition before Nadal? His first 7 slams were against scrubs and a 35 year old Agassi... Fed's early slams were against Roddick, Baghdatis, Hewitt, etc. Great players, but absolutely nothing compared to the top players today. I'm sure people like Djokovic, Del Potro, Nadal, or even Murray would do just as good back then.
@explodingpimp Yes, you are probably true. There are players today as good as federer. But it was federer who set this new, higher level of tennis ten years ago. The others were just following and, after ten years, they got to that same level, that federer started in te past. Thats why he won so much, because he was the first "discoverer". It just works like that. One players starts something new and other join, after some time of course :-).
@Holali1 He wasn't a first discoverer of anything, he was just placed in a much less talented early era. Its not like he was the first player of his caliber, remember Becker? Borg? McEnroe? Sampras? Fed didn't discover anything, he was literally placed in an era of much weaker players than the 80's and 90's. And the reason all the top players today didn't emerge at that time wasn't because they didnt have what it takes to develop their skill early, it was because of their age!
@Holali1 Nadal turned pro 4 years before Fed's prime, Djokovic turned pro 2 years before Fed's prime, Andy Murray turned pro AT Fed's prime, same with Del Potro. Its not like they were all in the same time period and Federer was the only one capable of turning the switch into greatness, its just that he started out a half decade before those guys in a particularly weak era.
@explodingpimp : Before Nadal? Dude Nadal played in every GS from 2004. Fed had just 1 GS when Nadal had started playing.. Hewitt was the youngest in history of tennis to be No 1 ranked player. Roddick at that time was unbeatable in Hard courts. He lost only to Federer there just likr hoe Fed looses to nadal in clay. Murray and Djokovic have been playing good tennis from 2007 and still couldn't defeat him.. Even the reformed Djokovic of today lost to the aged "out of form" Federer in Clay court
@explodingpimp and there were Safin's and Gonzales's who'd ve won atleast 2 or 3 GS if Fed wasn't there. Fed in his prime made others look ordinary thats all. I hope u watched yesterday's semi's agnst djokovic.. Federer almost won the match against a player who is in a god like form right now. Infact he is the only player to ve defeated djokovic this yr. and federer is not even close to his best anymore.. So thik properly once before saying that agn
im still confused on what actually happened ?

I couldn't care less how many slams Marat has, it's a miracle he won 2 with the amount of injuries he has had. You're not a Safin fan if you didn't know this, you're just somebody who started watching tennis this year.
MaratSafinVideos 2 years ago
how could i have started watching tennis this year when i became a safin fan in 2000 after he beat sampras at the uso?? i, unlike you, won't make excuses for someone who had the potential to make it really big, but squandered their chances. sure injuries might have contributed, but his lack of commitment was a factor too. safin let his fans down and he let himself down. he was WAAAYY too talented to only have 2 slams.
also, rafa i respect because he works hard to win big.
ghlover2001 2 years ago
why should i make excuses for him? when did I do that, you blind idiot.
You became a fan of him after he beat Sampras at the USO, you seem like a bit of a glory hunter, to be honest.
MaratSafinVideos 2 years ago
lol, you sound angry.
anyway, i only stated facts in my first comment and that seemed to mortally offend you, so i just assumed you were one of those fans who made excuses for the person you support.
and i'm not a glory hunter. i'm a fan of talent and character. safin had talent in spades and lots of character, but no commitment. i became a fan of rafa in 2005 mainly because i was amazed at how poised he was for his age and the fact that he's talented, determined, and has a great character.
ghlover2001 2 years ago
Sound angry...although you have no idea what tone I'm intending to come across in, you must be special, and yes, you're still an idiot.
Fan of Rafael Nadal in 2005, why not 2004? Cause he didn't win a slam then? hmmm...
Gloryhunter?
This is a huge misconception about Safin, that he doesn't work hard, a few players of recent have spoke out about this and say that this is bullshit. Marat, at times, during his career, was in unbelievable shape.
So what if he lost motivation after the injury?
MaratSafinVideos 2 years ago
you still sound angry, overly aggresive, whatever you wanna call it. also i had stopped watching mens tennis by 2004. it was really all about the wta. i didn't like anyone until i saw rafa. i love ppl who put their hearts on their sleeves, that's why i had always loved safin. if that makes me a gloryhunter then fine, lol
ghlover2001 2 years ago
You can't hear me, so still, and again, you must be SPECIAL.
You're a glory hunter, funny how you call Nadal "rafa" as well, you're just one of many sheep.
MaratSafinVideos 2 years ago
well you're the one that name called and continues to do so for no reason. so i think, yes, you're being overly aggressive. and EVERYONE calls nadal rafa. just like i refer to federer as feds, haas as tom, etc. i give all the ppl i support nick names. i don't know these ppl personally, but i like their game/attitude/everything. again, if you think that's glory hunting then let me help you:
GHLOVER2001 is a "GLORY HUNTER" for supporting ppl like: tom, feds, raf, & safin

what kind of sad fuck would be so bothered to go and reply to a several month old comment?
americans are always the same haha
MaratSafinVideos 2 years ago
and when I say lost motivation, I mean during times in 2006 and 07 when he was playing in pain and was frustrated and threw a few matches.
In the end of 07 he worked terribly hard and was in great shape in 08, but the results still did not come. It's misfortune that he's had so many injuries and that the knee injury was detrimental.
MaratSafinVideos 2 years ago
Why the hell are you still going on even after ghlover let you have the win? Trying to hard to seem like someone you're not? Too stubborn? Maybe you should stop acting like a child and be nice to women. You might be 6'4 and a great tennis player, but you obviously have no respect. Grow up.

Says the person who's just replied to a comment that's older than 2 months, how ironic.

Nadal is not as a genius as Federer.
Federer is for always the better tennis player of every times.

Oh come on. Arrogance? It wasn't a 'dumb' shot by ANY means. It was "too good".

supergirlyal 1 year ago
@supergirlyal he's DEFINITELY not unbeatable !! djoko just beat him..he's about 3000 points below nadal..just lost to berdych in this year's wimbledon as well..that's unbeatable !? learn some tennis instead of jumping on fed bandwagon! :)
GhulamePanjatan 1 year ago
@GhulamePanjatan
Of course he can be beaten in match, every player gets older and weaker. But he is the best tennis player EVER. He's won 16 Grandslams and thats makin him unbeatable.

@Holali1 i could be mistaken but agisee(Ag-A-C) won more. PS thats prob wrong spelling.
beanz323232 10 months ago
@beanz323232 nope closest one to federer is/was Pete Sampras with 14 grand slams
rollamoken 10 months ago
@Holali1 Who was Federer's competition before Nadal? His first 7 slams were against scrubs and a 35 year old Agassi... Fed's early slams were against Roddick, Baghdatis, Hewitt, etc. Great players, but absolutely nothing compared to the top players today. I'm sure people like Djokovic, Del Potro, Nadal, or even Murray would do just as good back then.
explodingpimp 5 months ago
@explodingpimp Yes, you are probably true. There are players today as good as federer. But it was federer who set this new, higher level of tennis ten years ago. The others were just following and, after ten years, they got to that same level, that federer started in te past. Thats why he won so much, because he was the first "discoverer". It just works like that. One players starts something new and other join, after some time of course :-).
Holali1 5 months ago
@Holali1 He wasn't a first discoverer of anything, he was just placed in a much less talented early era. Its not like he was the first player of his caliber, remember Becker? Borg? McEnroe? Sampras? Fed didn't discover anything, he was literally placed in an era of much weaker players than the 80's and 90's. And the reason all the top players today didn't emerge at that time wasn't because they didnt have what it takes to develop their skill early, it was because of their age!
explodingpimp 5 months ago
@Holali1 Nadal turned pro 4 years before Fed's prime, Djokovic turned pro 2 years before Fed's prime, Andy Murray turned pro AT Fed's prime, same with Del Potro. Its not like they were all in the same time period and Federer was the only one capable of turning the switch into greatness, its just that he started out a half decade before those guys in a particularly weak era.
explodingpimp 5 months ago
@explodingpimp : Before Nadal? Dude Nadal played in every GS from 2004. Fed had just 1 GS when Nadal had started playing.. Hewitt was the youngest in history of tennis to be No 1 ranked player. Roddick at that time was unbeatable in Hard courts. He lost only to Federer there just likr hoe Fed looses to nadal in clay. Murray and Djokovic have been playing good tennis from 2007 and still couldn't defeat him.. Even the reformed Djokovic of today lost to the aged "out of form" Federer in Clay court
kvsudharshan1 4 months ago
@explodingpimp and there were Safin's and Gonzales's who'd ve won atleast 2 or 3 GS if Fed wasn't there. Fed in his prime made others look ordinary thats all. I hope u watched yesterday's semi's agnst djokovic.. Federer almost won the match against a player who is in a god like form right now. Infact he is the only player to ve defeated djokovic this yr. and federer is not even close to his best anymore.. So thik properly once before saying that agn
