Also, people have to remember in the more current day, that back in 1978 - 79 both the head writers, Jerome & Bridget Dobson and then EP Allan Potter tried to clean up Rita's image after all her problems because of what happened with Cyrus & Malcolm Grainger, but none of the audience bought into Rita being nothing but a slut so the writers and Potter just gave up trying to clean her.
It's wonderful seeing Bert again. "You seemed to be indicating that there was a problem." "I have been trying to be a good wife to Ed." "Been with? - Humped." "Since I've married to Ed, I've been faithful, a good deal of the time." "Do you think I can make Ed happy?" - "A slut like you, hang it up, Honey." NRS wasn't Holly's 1st trip to La-La land. "I don't care if you're a liar or a murderer you're my kind of woman." "Together?" - "Ask Rita." Love Holly's tinkling bottles.
@NFitalianGuy Well, later she'd blame Vanessa, Alan, Adam, Sara, etc. This wasn't the last time Rita would blame others for her problems in her marriage -- even in the real show. At this time in the actual storyline she was blaming Sara for much of her maritial woes in the fact she had admit Roger had raped her before her marriage.
Does anyone recognize the room Bert and Rita were in? All the other scenes were in the characters' "regular" sets, but that definitely was not Bert's house. Was it a regular set on GL during this time? I was an avid fan but I don't remember it.
Okay, I think my favorite scene so far is Bert and Rita. I may have peed myself. Marsha Clark is brilliant and I hope she keeps writing and producing.
I like Rita saying the "humping". And then Holly tells Peter, ask Rita. -:) And I like Bert's confusion over the music playing near the end of the scene.
Choking with laughter at Bert and Rita! Marsha Clark's script for this scene is hilarious. "Ask Rita" LOL LOL LOL

Bert and Rita were phenomenal. "A slut like you,"; Bert always did tell it like it was.
And to think, the cast put this together!

I love how when Rita mentions Barbara's name, Bert rolls her eyes. (That was usually my reaction to Barbara back then too!)

This is hysterical! Did this ever air? I was a HUGE fan of the show during those years, but I don't remember this.
