Also, people have to remember in the more current day, that back in 1978 - 79 both the head writers, Jerome & Bridget Dobson and then EP Allan Potter tried to clean up Rita's image after all her problems because of what happened with Cyrus & Malcolm Grainger, but none of the audience bought into Rita being nothing but a slut so the writers and Potter just gave up trying to clean her.

@NFitalianGuy Well, later she'd blame Vanessa, Alan, Adam, Sara, etc. This wasn't the last time Rita would blame others for her problems in her marriage -- even in the real show. At this time in the actual storyline she was blaming Sara for much of her maritial woes in the fact she had admit Roger had raped her before her marriage.

Does anyone recognize the room Bert and Rita were in? All the other scenes were in the characters' "regular" sets, but that definitely was not Bert's house. Was it a regular set on GL during this time? I was an avid fan but I don't remember it.

Okay, I think my favorite scene so far is Bert and Rita. I may have peed myself. Marsha Clark is brilliant and I hope she keeps writing and producing.
