well it's obvious that fat boy detective will be new jigsaw he will come out of that vault that protected him & he will reemerge as jigsaw. Its funny the 2 men at the end looked exactly alike although the jigsaw detective was pudgier faced than the thinner one & yes wasn't he thin :)

if you're asking what others parts of saw 3hoffman was in... it was none. in saw 3, he was there for one scene, at the beginning. he seemed like he was "just another cop at the crime scene" until we see his role in saw 4

i doubt doctor gordon will ever be brought back because cary elwes, the guy who plays him, was approached about making a return in saw 2 or 3, but declined because (i forgot the exact reason), he was upset about something during the first one and has no interest in returning. so yea... he's probably not even coming back and we just have to presume he died... but who knows, in saw anything could happen.. i mean hoffman went from bein in saw 3 for one scene to bein his apprentice, so idk!

yo hoffman isnt the apprentice yet. if u listened at the end of 4 he is still to be tested so there is already an apprentice and for dr. g they could recast him easily enough to make a flashback of his death or somthing

actually he IS the apprentice already. because remember during the ending of saw 4 it also showed him putting that letter to amanda (that she opens in 3, but we dunno who its from) into the drawer. also, he must've helped amand get karrie into her trap because straham says something like "amanda young is 120 pounds she couldn't have gotten her up there alone" and then hoffman says "what are you saying" and straham says "there must've been someone who helped her." and it couldn't have been jigsaw
