well about the english version there was one that i saw when i was about 7yrs old that would make in the early 90s hehe that version was even cut alot they didnt have the part about the her secret room, the white spores that looked like snow & some other silly details anyways i didnt kno what company dubbed it but i just wanted to tell u about it hehe bye,

The manga was written to show that the story was interesting and could be used for an animated film. The movie was always the goal not an afterthought.

I was born in 85 and this is the first anime movie iva ever seen and its why i love anime today...WOW! great movie.

This movie was the first introduction to anie I ever had, and I've been watching it ever since. Also, if you haven't heard about it yet, there is a manga for this made by Miyazaki that expands the story even further.

Awesome movie, i loved it since i was a kid in the 80's with it's Warriors of the Wind cut then i saw the fansub uncut video in 1997 at 16 and taped that one. This movie was a major influence on Avatar.
