  • I hope I can get this camera some day.. so expensive

  • Synergy, you're gay

  • This is one of my camera on my bucket list!

  • Ahhh

The D4 is gonna thrash Canons 1Dx

Not dissing Canon, The 1Dx is great. But not amazing for its price =]

  • i am a big canon fan. i am using canon since 2000, with the D30 then moved to the 1 series . But the D3s is way over the 1D mkIV. Hard to compare it with 1Ds Mkiii since the cameras are in different leagues but still full frame and because i am a canon user i would chose canon over the D3X . But 9 fps for full frame , the superb LCD, 11FPS in crop mode it's something that canon needs to work on. D3s it's an awesome camera.

  • $5000 body, $100 lens. Priceless

  • @YIMMA996TT No, that would be $5100 in total, that's not priceless.

  • this doesnt even need an integrated flash does it? O.o

  • @katingaman Amateur cameras have integrated flash. ;)

  • Why shoot a video with such a small DOF????

  • you'll buy two or three of these like they giving them away with a pack of cigarettes or something??? Its an expensive top notch camera dude.... wake up.

  • Love the D3s and the 50 f1.8 is awesome for the cash!

  • I know this is like a year old but seriously. I hate it when it's pronounced "Ny-kon" . one guy told me "the british say "nee-kon" and some of us say "ny-kon". but the JAPANESE say "nee-kon". only 1 pronounciation. and on topic: Even though I can't afford the Leica S2, I can't afford this as well. I wish I could afford this camera. I'm to poor :(

  • Nikon is gay. With canon you can (:

  • @Fr4gg3r2 lets see you set the iso on its highest setting on a canon in under 5 seconds.

    with nikon you can.

  • @skittlepower95 ee, I just did it in 2 seconds. ^^

  • @Fr4gg3r2 must have more than 10 fingers to move through the maze of settings on a canon

  • @skittlepower95 nope, just one button :-) it is true that there is a maze in the settings when you try to lock the mirror for example, but that does not break me down :-)

  • I like my technology heavy, makes me feel like i've got my moneys worth!

  • HAHA! I like my camera heavy!.. Want it NOW

Got the same lens shown here, 50mm f1.8 .. Very fast.. not good for very bright sunny day light... Very soft @ 1.8 but just crack the shutter up, f2.8 and shoot away.. awesome lens

  • great !

  • I love Nikon but.... C'mon! You can do better - this 720 stuff is just poor looking video. The image wobbles like a phone camera, it's crap. I've got a full set of manual primes - some rare, that have been waiting for Nikon to hit the mark. Canon is 2 possibly 3 generations ahead. My lenses are waiting for you guys to react to Canon's 5D. When are we going to see it? Will we see it?

  • @chriso99 The image wobbles in 720p? The difference of 720p and 1080p is that, its bigger resolutions. BUT it doesn't effect to wobbling, if 720p wobbles, 1080p wobbles too. Frame speed and shutter speed helps in that but the best solution for wobbling is tripod + video head...

  • @chriso99

Look up "Rolling shutter". That's an inherent problem plaguing ALL DSLRs when shooting video, not just Nikon like you suggest.

  • Thanks Steve, I can't believe Nikon sent you their cheapest 50mm F/1.8 lens for you to do this review. If you would have had some serious glass (14-24 or 24-70, 70-200 VR2), the outcome would have been different in your website review. I know its large, but it's a monster for sure. Thanks

  • @tuckerjeffrey The 50/1.8 is a decent lens, don't diss it. Just because it's cheaper to produce because of its plastic shell, that doesn't mean it's optical formula isn't top notch.

  • @manusdextra , also in addition to that, it is light and it is fast. If you bang it up, just go buy another one.

  • @manusdextra

Agreed. I've had this lens for 4 months, and the $100 to get it was the best I've spent so far for my camera.

  • @manusdextra I just bought one today for my D3s, its awesome!!! For 100 notes i aint complaining :O)

  • @manusdextra True. I tested the AIS version of the same optical formula (see on my blog). I compared pictures shot in the same conditions with different lenses. At f/1.8 the image is a bit hazy but the smallest details are quite distinct at the center. at 2.8 at the center and at f/4 and up on the whole field, it's comparable with the micro-nikkor 60mm f/2.8. Top notch, really.

  • i'm having problems with that AF 50mm f1.8 and the d40 that i use. the camera won't allow me to open up the aperture blades via the aperture adjustment ring in the lens. the d40 won't release the shutter and keeps on warning me to set/lock the blades the the minimum opening (largest f-number) is there something wrong with it? is it normal? or am i doing something wrong?

  • @N6600 Have you solved it yet? If not, then just flick up the orange button, then spin the back part of the lens until it reaches the orange number (22). Then flick the orange button back and you're all set.

  • thanks bro... i already did.

  • right, d700 is good for sports, too. everything is good for anything.

  • what a stupid thing to say..This camera can be used for low light nature photography, photojournalism...etc
