Heck, as a person who works as a vampire IN Lore of the Vampire, I'd like it if you didn't. People that come in and start talking to us not only ruin it for other people, but it is annoying. We are not there to be social, we are there to talk.

Some people might not mind getting out of character, but it should be noted that they can LOSE THEIR JOB if they do.

Yeah, defintely a challenge to find your way around the Camp Snoopy / Gauntlet area in the dark. I used to get turned around the wrong way in there or go in circles, before I got used to it. Guess they have to have it so dark so the Snoopy stuff won't spoil the mood.

Thanks for the song ID, RENEIND. The Ultimate Haunt page gives the name of the song on its own line (a couple lines after Juno Reactor), so I wasn't sure if it was a band name or the He-Man soundtrack or what. :-)

I'll have to go pick up the "Odyssey" album that this is on.

I got to go to Knott's Scary Farm this year and it wasn't too bad for the first time. I may go into the maze next year, it looks okay.

well hopefully this maze is gonna be here for 2008 because "LORE OF THE VAMPIRE" has been around for a long time about 5 to seven years and there has been rumors that this mazes has met its end in 2007, lets hope this maze isnt on the chopping block for 2008

Is it true that you have to buy a regualr knotts berry farm ticket and a separate halloween haunt ticket just to go for the halloween haunt?? And can u buy the haunt ticket at the entrance of knotts???

Just one ticket. They have coupons at Burger King where admission is only $30, $32, $36, or $41, depending on what night you go. You can buy tickets at the park entrance, but the lines get very long, so you're better off buying from TicketMaster in advance (can't use the coupons online, but you can go to the TicketMaster locations in the Macy's gift-wrapping department or at Ritmo Latino).

Aww, that's kind of mean. I agree that asking monsters to scare people is kind of inappropriate since it breaks the illusion, but those people's heart is in the right place, at least. Maybe if you cackle evilly after the "Wait... you have friends?" so it's clear that it's part of the evil monster shtick.

Oh. They totally know I am joking. I actually have no where to walk since I am stuck in a hallway. They usually laugh when I say it or all their friends give them the "ooooooooh" remark to them. It's all in good fun, they like to play along and make fun of me aswell. To be honest... I actually do go after the person that they tell me to scare. :-p

Sometimes they do hold people back, so you do end up effectively going through in a group (albeit a large one), rather than it always being a constant slow stream of trudging people. In this video you can see they were just doing the constant-line-of-people thing, but this year when I went through this one they stopped letting people in for awhile just after me.

ThemeParkAdventure dot com got some great video of the mazes in 2005, recorded with special permission from the park, with a (visible spectrum) video light, and without other mazegoers blocking the shots or drawing the monsters' attention away from the cameraman. TPA no longer makes those videos available for download, but they can be found on YouTube in cocalive4ever and thejewfro789's channels.

This maze in particular comes off a lot better in TPA's 2005 video.

Thank you. Though I've lived in Orange County all my life, my parents wouldn't let me go to Knott's Scary Farm (or other scary attractions I was interested in, like The Black Box at the Movieland Wax Museum) when I was young. Then in college I was too busy. So I didn't start going until after college, in the mid to late 90s.

I saw a bit on TV about a kind of corny "horrors of the past" tour at the Tower of London (?) which looked kind of fun, but I was unaware of the London Dungeon and its other locations. Very cool that you guys have a year-round attraction of this nature. I do want to go to England some day, and I'll definitely check this out. Thanks again!

You were asking about the bishop guy from previous years of Lore of the Vampire. He actually moved to The Gauntlet Scare Zone in 2006. It was very disappointing seeing him outside of Lore because with him not in it... It felt a bit. Naked, if you know what I mean. Sort of like watching a Halloween movie and not seeing Michael Myers in it (not including Halloween 4, lol)

The problem is that NightShot mode (even Super NightShot Plus on the latest Sonys) drains almost all the color out of shots. Also it gives a distorted view of the atmosphere inside the mazes and rides, making them seem brighter than they actually were. Therefore I prefer to use Slow Shutter when possible, but many lighting conditions simply require NightShot. I would certainly hate to be stuck with a non-Sony camera without NightShot.
