I dunno about $1000! I looked up all the ingredients, and albeit it's still PREEETTY steep for my liking and I would never do it, I can make this at home for approximately $300. Give or take $100. Still hell of a lot cheaper than $1000.

I am a sushi connoisseur, and you,chef are taking a dump on the simple beauty of what real sushi is. Yes, sushi literally means "vinegared rice", so it's still technically sushi no matter what you put in it, but this is taking too far. I'm all for the authentic, simple nigiris and hosomaki. Western style sushi with deep fried rolls and crazy sauces drizzled on top is tolerable I eat those occasionally, Posh style sushi with caviar and edible gold I will never eat at all. :(

i ate at this resturant before they're way too over priced. We had some sashimi at $15 per piece. Their menu does not have pricing on it. We also had some other rolls, to me they are nothing better then your average sushi resturant. And for the $1000.00 roll. I would never get it. There are kids out there dying of hunger every day, i have better things to do with my money then spending it on a few ingridents that is not even asian's superior ingredents put together.

And for those who don't understand where the cost comes from... poeple spend 50-100k+$ during 5-10 years to learn how to make sushi.. the ingredients themselve maybe not that expensive but it's the freshness and quality (the things that have no price) and who handled the ingredients that make the price.You have to understand that you can't get that fresh that good anywhere else + this isn't made for poeple who make 25k a year...obviously..it's for poeple who would pay anything to get the best.
