While homosexuality has been documented in the wild and in captivity alike, this was not mating. There was no penetration. If you look close enough, you will see that this is dominance humping where the genitals contact above the tail rather than below it.
In order for it to be classified as homosexual behavior, there needs to be lifting of the tail and attempted penetration. The lions here weren't attempting it and were doing it for dominance stature.

Actually, these animals were born and bred in captivity. For lions it's actually not stressing. Lions sleep 14 hours a day and the females do the hunting also, the places usually have a large area for them to roam around. They are fine, I've actually been inside one with a male cub before.
Still doesn't make me feel any better about it. I know there's no need for this. There are other ways to study and watch these animals.

Homosexuality between wolves, lions and a lot of other animals was spotted only when they are locked up. It's just because of hypersexuality and lack of females. Just like in the american prisons. Between free mammals only rodentias, artiodactylas and primates (include humans) had officialy spotted homosexual contact and even Against Nature? in Oslo hadn't disproof it.

All species have gay animals 28% of all mallard ducks are gay and even higher in teh giraffe family. In fact a male duck sometimes will get a female pregnate then run her off and let him and his male mate raise the chicks.

No, what I am saying is that there is 'straight' animals, 'bi' animals, and 'gay animals.' We have reports of each. Straight: Mainly, Bi: Prides with Two male lions, and Gay: The Penguins, Whales, etc. Who mated for life despite the females around them. And really, why does it matter anyway. Ah, No. Those males you say become Homosexual do not have ANY female companions. These two Penguins had plenty of females to chose from and they chose each other. Also, some male lions in the WILD have two males in the pride. Meaning even in the wild they can lean towards 'bi' tendancy. Also, in the Wild there are various type of whales/wolves that have been Documented mating. Also, we know that they Mate for life.

While homosexuality has been documented in the wild and in captivity alike, this was not mating. There was no penetration. If you look close enough, you will see that this is dominance humping where the genitals contact above the tail rather than below it.
In order for it to be classified as homosexual behavior, there needs to be lifting of the tail and attempted penetration. The lions here weren't attempting it and were doing it for dominance stature.

Actually, these animals were born and bred in captivity. For lions it's actually not stressing. Lions sleep 14 hours a day and the females do the hunting also, the places usually have a large area for them to roam around. They are fine, I've actually been inside one with a male cub before.

Makes me go back a 150 years, when the children and children's children of enslaved Africans were born and bred in captivity - and that, too was the only life they knew - didn't make it any better... What's funny about your comment, is that I even remember reading about homosexuality in lions in a very old encyclopedia britannica 20+ years ago, so I have no idea how my comment is possibly bullshit. Also, there are species of animals out there documented to have actually succeeded in anal penetration, such as some species of monkeys. Not all can, but some have. There was a pair of male mallard ducks we always fed in the creek behind our house, who came back year after year, always together

I've seen other animals display the same behavior. Dogs do it, pigs do it, chickens do it, goats do it...the list goes on. As a result, this video doesn't really surprise me. Researchers also say it can just be a sign of dominance. Maybe animals really do have bi or homosexual tendencies? But hey who knows?
