I found Henry Hall's music after I found an autographed picture of his in my nans attic, along with autographed pictures of some of the crew from the dambusters raid (guy gibson etc)
Not to mention I love this music anyway, just another band to add to my favorites!
This is my favourite version of this track and i also have this in my collection. its a rare one. very catchy. It to me sounds earlier in style than 1936, more like 1931. I never tire of it. Sounds great quality. many thanks.
@1912cunard - yes I think this is a great version too. My copy is far from perfect though with a rim chip and wear towards the end but I have simply never seen another copy to upgrade it with :( Another very elusive BBC DO title is "The glory of love" despite looking for years for this I have yet to see a copy in any condition!
The copy I found was in excellent Condition. These 78's turn up all over the place. I probably would never know what was rare and what was not. I know on ebay the prices are way too high. I can get them loads cheaper. It was strange I had been listening to music goes round in my car, and then came accross it at a car boot for 50p. I was like stunned. My mates think i am crackers for liking this music. lol Thanks for posting it though for us.
I also love the Dorsey's version with the clambake seven :)
