@3jcorn They have confirmed a Sequel, but the writing staff and Abrams are taking longer than they expected to come up with a new script. The main issue? They want it to make sense and not ruin the movie. They also want to keep the whole "monster terrorizing concept" without making it seem like if you are watching the first Cloverfield under a different title. I at least respect that Abrams doesn't want to just throw any movie out there for money. He cares for the actual story. We shall wait =)

how about just watching that last scene again when the copter crashes. The jets are flying towards the city or leaving due to the imminent bombing but what caught my attention is if you listen there are bombs still being dropped and artillery still being used far off. Thus, what would they be attacking if the monster was right there ? It would seem by just this question the logical conclusion would be that the military is bombing something else . you decide.
