Fantastic movie about the abuse of power and big ego .. Bush came to mind more than once while watching the film.
I think part of the problem is these Nixon /Bush types are foolhardy but appear so confident in their positions. It shouldn't be that difficult for a leader to say he got it wrong.
How appropriate for the final dialogue to be "I'm sorry." It’s sad that Ron Howard had pride is this movie. The “drunken” scene, used for the “turning point,” was a lie. The audience has been led astray and Ron Howard's viability gone forever. After leaving the White House, the President went on to write books. He visited China and Russia by their invitation to a great man. President Johnson placed the recording device in WATERGATE, not Nixon. His mistake was to use it. FROST/NIXON is a lie!
Great film - and I love the way that Nixon is humanized - by the end of the film, I felt a great empathy for him - as this happened when I was very young and I only remember hearing about it, I always envisioned a cold hearted, power hungry criminal - since seeing the film I will now and always will see him as a flawed human that made some terrible mistakes but a human being none the less -
lol, ron howard has worked his ass off his whole life. and nixon deserves to be incinerated, and his ashes deserve to be snorted by kieth richards.
lol, and you're in a position to declare who knows what about nixon? You were born in 84, bro... and you have '007' in your username... you present yourself as an ass.
lol, 'this is a great film, but come on' what a jackass
ron howard has an amazing career. who'da thought that ritchie cunningham woulda turned out to be such an intellectual. he has such a keen and acute understanding of film. his movies are structured so deliberate and his stories hit all the right beats. willow included!!
This just pisses me off when Hollywodd distorts the truth on Nixon. Saying this is the greatest criminal act in history is absolutely pathetic. Nixon did not need Watergate to win the election. He only beat George McGovern 520-17 in the electoral college (2nd most ever only short to Reagan). Nixon had NOTHING to do with Watergate. John Dean, the white house counsel, wanted to get the pictures of him and his call-girl girlfriend out and thats why he and others went in. Unbelievable
I'm from Orange and Fearne Cotton interviewed him for us on the Red Carpet, if you search for bafta 2009 ron howard interview with fearne cotton you'll find it!

...but don't forget it is a movie. What you feel is not a result of knowing the man but how he has been portrayed by a writer/director/actor.
A better insight would come from reading or listening to those who met him.
