When Nintendo teamed with Philips, the shitty CD-I was born. When Nintendo teamed with Sony, the kickass Playstation was born.

Looking at the history of these 2 consoles, how one turned out great and the other turned out bad, I always wonder what the video game industry would be like now if Playstation had the shitty games and rights to Nintendo's franchises while CD-I got all the success. What other consoles would Philips make? How would the console wars be like? :O

It wasn't a bad system. The one he has is big because it was meant to also be the cd player in a stereo system, and back then all stereo equipment was that big.

It was released in 1991, and too far ahead of its time, developers had no idea that you could make much better games with 650 MB of data. In 1995 the playstation was launched and did more or less the same as this machine.
