Hey im looking to buy one of these in a couple of weeks is there anything that i have to look for in purchasing one? Like common problems that they have and that kind of thing? Nice bike
Just bought a '92 with ugly paint and some bruises on the tank, but learning to ride it has been soooooooo easy. Super low center of gravity ! I s it normal for these bikes to have a lot of lifter tapping type noise? Mine seems to run strong but I plan to go through it over the winter, seems like it should be giving me a little more power. Or maybe I am just paranoid since I don't know it's history. Either way I like the bike. Might just have to keep it for the kids to learn on someday.
I have a 92 Yamaha Seca II. It's got a jet kit and a yoshimura pipe on it. Nothing too special. It's zippy, I wouldn't call it fast. It does about 110mph before it doesn;t want to go anymore. And I liked the lil wheelie you did, thats about all they can do. RIDE ON BROTHER!
These are in my opinion the best beginner bikes you can buy. I have a 95 I dont want to get rid of. Sits comfortably and still nimble in the turns. You cant beat the 93-98 XJ 600's doller per fun ratio.
It's a 94. Good strong dependable bike. It's been through hell since I sold it(3 wrecks and still going). But perfect beginner bike and a great commuter for city driving. Highway it gets 70mpg.
Yeah colt i just got me one 5 days ago. There really not the fastest but that's good. I'm going tomorrow to get new skins, and paint. ( nice burnout dude)
he he he, i have the 1984 version (the first of the xj 600's)

the 94 I just picked up makes the same top end engine noise. I think they're just mechanically noisy bikes. Thing runs fine and isn't down on power.

I have a secca ii 94'. To get the font wheel up did you just roll the throttle? or did you pop the clutch?

Never seen an XJ600 treated like that before, burning rubber. Nothing beats that smell :)

Keep after it... Good job bringing up the rear wheel! A little higher with more of a stall next time! Keep practicing!
