  • This is alright, but I much prefer the Pink Floyd original.

  • Brian May kicking asses with his guitar forever!!!

    Damn he's good!!!

  • who sing in this song, dave ghrold or the drummer?

  • @UkFor3ver taylor, the drummer.

  • Screams from the core of the human being

  • I love Floyd, I love FF, & this has to be one of the best covers...ever.....it rips your balls off every time !!!

  • 23 people are fags

  • Fucking kudos.

  • good this for yanks

  • GREAT MASTER VERSION with BRIAN MAY´S GUITAR. BM GUITAR MAKE AN SPECIAL SONG MUCH BETTER

  • I am Pink Floyd fan and I think this is a GREAT cover.

  • Floyd have to be my favourite band of all time without a doubt, however I think this cover does justice to a great band, I mean it has kept that massively important energy, maybe fairly more "trashy" than floyd but still great... that said, they will never be able to do justice to a floyd light show live.

  • Love it and I'm a Floyd head from way back. :)

  • wonderful

  • As someone more into modern rock and metal I think this is fantastic. I absolutly love the original but I think they've done a great job with this. Too many people think covers should be as identical to the original as possible...i disagree. A cover should have the bands own sound, feel and identity to it and still sound great....thats what makes a good cover song.

  • Interesting modernized version. Grohl hits high notes nicely. Remnicent of "Another brick in the wall" by Class of 99 which had Layne Staley on vocals and Tom Morello playing guitar. Just a new take on a classic is all. pretty cool though.

  • @DaveS12382 This isn't Dave on vocals, drummer Taylor Hawkins is on vocals

  • @ilijad wow, he has a decent voice. So Grohl is on drums then? that makes it even more cool actually.

  • @DaveS12382 Yeah, check out their cover of Led Zeppelins Rock n Roll,he just nailed Plants vocals perfectly

  • I'd say it's a good version but knowing the original it's hard to like it, there's a version by primus that's a lot more interesting though a bit weird, but well it's primus, peace

  • this song is awesome

  • I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan but this is a fun cover. Still prefer the Floyd version, but I like this one too.

  • Dave Grohl can do whatever the hell he wants

  • @duffmanx2000 Yes I agree, this shit ROCKS!!!!

  • Absolutely love this track; Prefer it over the original and I loved the original.

Brian May easily one of the greatest and Grohl's vocals are top notch.

  • @TheCapnRaccoon its hawkins singing

  • @Lostinlife727 Oh wow, I didn't know he had such strong vocals.

He should sing a lot more.

  • Yeah, no thanks

  • Brian's solo kicks some major ass

  • rofl, no comparrison to what ponk floyd did... sorry, I love foo fighters but this just doesn't match up.

everyone in pink floyd could play their instrument better than these guys can play theirs... its that simple really..

  • Too fast, too heavy, too brash and a shite solo. This song has about as much structural integrity as a house of cards in a hurricane.

  • @blaster2012 too fast, too heavy, too brash and a shite solo? are you an 85 yr old Englishman?

  • Comment removed

  • @joseutuado you may notice i was making fun of blaster2012, he spoke the blasphemy not I.

  • @erockurfaceoff What has being English got to do with it? I just know a shit song when i hear one. This version is an overrated bastardisation of an old classic.

  • @blaster2012 being English, you obviously have poor taste... its not a bastardization as much as it is a different take on the song.... im just busting your balls anyway man relax.

  • @erockurfaceoff Well, you must already know that i'm a Pink Floyd fan,are you sure you won't retract the bit about the English having poor taste?

  • by the way, wich one is Brian?

  • @Ariel1Dominguez I'm pretty sure he's doing the guitar solo.

  • @Tuck1911: i was trying to be funny ( i suck i know ), you know this is a pink floyd cover, so is like a producer or manager that say "yeah, i like the band, by the way, which one is pink?" thinking that pink is a member of the group. so...that is why i say that.

PD: it was hard to explain, spanish is my mother language.

  • @Ariel1Dominguez haha ;D

  • I luv both the versions....The first one original at its beat and this one tribute at its best....

  • ....its not, too bad.

but the original kicks the shit out of it

  • ha, this is pretty cool..

  • this blows bloated donkey ballzzz. Brian, i'm dissappointed in you. :-(

  • what a horrible version

  • This is like Nirvana meets Pink Floyd! Absolutely love it! :D

They did a very nice job covering it. I'm so glad they put their own spin on it, after all that's what covers should be like, right?

  • If its so bad, then why dont all you fuckers stop veiwing and posting comments?

  • haha lame

  • The original is mor clasic. But David is a friend with Brian i don't think that he is upset with this cover. It has more gain and power in it...the clasic one i think is much dificult to replicate. But if the memebers of the PF didn't like it i think they would said something.

  • it depends from cover to cover... not the 'concept' of covering the songs.. not at all.

  • i personally don't think it's right when people are so closed minded to cover songs of 'classic' bands.

so what the hell, man?? if they did the exact same thing, it'd be pointless. it's a tribute to the original band and the currents band interpretation of the song. that's all. if you don't appreciate it, don't listen to it. if you do, then that's actually very good. now there can be good covers and bad.. like THIS is a good cover.. but Kittie's Run Like Hell cover was shit.

  • Primus covered the entire Animals live....and they've released it..

  • Brian may is god....

  • This cover is a great compliment.

  • Heard it on Howard too! It's been in my head ever since.

  • Stern playing this song was epic. I forgot how much I loved this song.

  • Baba booey!

  • Fucking epic! Heard it on Howard Stern the other day and just had to listen to it again.

  • i love cover songs... if i wanted to hear the original, i'd listen to the original...

this is a great version of the classic... of course the floyd version is the best... but this is the Foo version.

    Awesome version.

Covers shouldn't be an exact copy of the original... check out Soulfly's version of the Bad Brains song "Sailing On", they make it sound like a Soulfly song, Max Cavalera's covers are the best covers I've ever heard.

  • this is the best pink floyd song, check out primus have a cigar

  • Comment removed

  • iv just become death i think ill go and listen to pink floyd

  • its not bad so you cant bash the song but without a dought the original by pink floyd is 100x better than this and i like foo fighter

  • I don't why people are bashing this song so bad. It's nothing like the original and let's face it, that is the best version but this is nice different take on the song. They kept it similar enough that they didn't wreck the song but they added their own feel. Just my thoughts.

  • have you heard primus have a cigar, MUCH better cover than this

  • @flapsmudflaps I actually like this version...and I am a die hard Pink Floyd fan...I even have them tattooed on me...but....I like this version!

  • @AubreyI420 you fail

  • @ToolandMAIDEN14......I fail? what is that suppose to mean? I didnt realize having my own opinion about a song...made me a failure....LOL. U have a great day Mr.Toolandmaiden14!

  • @AubreyI420 nope you fail...period

  • whats wrong with you brian.you wouldn"t help the foo fighters destroying a queen song-why are the most floyd covers so bad

  • you've not heard primus' flyod covers then

  • I only like this better cause its the foo and Brian may :O thats just a match made in heaven pity freddie wasn't about ta be in it 2

  • Oh come on!! I have just listened to Floyd`s original, and like most of their songs they sound pretty and send me to sleep!

At least this version is like a BIG PAIR of momas that are slapping you in the face!

  • Uggh, this screatches at my ears. Pink Floyd makes this look like a pile of vomit.

  • tru dat

  • this sucks

  • i like this one a little better prob. cuz i like death hardcore metal yano the foos r alright

  • yeah but the original is much better, but this cover is one of the best i ever heard

  • it's a bit over produced

  • The voice is good, it's pretty similar to Roy Harper's, but they didn't kept the original guitar chords... so, it's like another song, I don't like it. they just could make the same chord faster...

  • i like pink floyd

    i like foo fighters . . . .

    but this is just awful

  • yea i agree, with all you statement.

the beginning of the song set no mood

it just came on too strong. the one thing i

did like where the vocals. good job Dave.

  • it's not dave on lead vocals, is the drummer taylor hawkins, but I agree with your comment

  • oh. oh my god. thats bad

  • I'm with bluehazer, Nope. Sounds like noise.

  • Lacks Floyd's bitter sarcasm. Nope.

  • This really is good... they didn't try to copy the song they made their own version of it, and it love it

  • anyone blast the instrumental and yell into a microphone, but that doesnt make the song good. pink floyd had style

  • Meh I like it. They obviously didn't want to play it like pink floyd does. The point is for it to be different.

  • just slaughter*

  • okay, korn did a better cover of another brick in the wall, this is juat slaughter

  • True this is bad, but korn DID NOT make a better another brick in the wall. Thats just blasphemy

  • i love the foo fighters....and queen(kind of)

but they really didnt capture this song at all. it was meant to be chill and went with the flow...this is way to 'heavy' and energetic, not even the foo fighters style....

    2/5

  • ThREETREVOR94 - Have a look at some of the covers Dream Theater have done of Pink Floyd, very impressive.

  • That was some downsyndrome

  • lame...

  • this is an insult to pink floyd

  • so was von geil das Lied

  • Amazing cover... It rocks!

  • What A Big Pile Of Shit :) :) :)

  • This was crap, it is made of fail and aids.

  • no band ever has made a GOOD version of a pink floyd. this just continues my point.

  • This feels more energetic than the original, but isn't as good as Pink Floyd's.

  • This is T. Hawkins on vocals, right?

Does that mean Dave Grohl is on the drums?

  • Who's T Hawkins ?

  • Taylor Hawkins is the drummer for Foo Fighters, who sings this cover

  • "You know, from a drummer, you're not a bad singer."

    "You too, Dave."

  • Hahah yeah that's pretty funny. It's cool because they both came from early 90s acts too (dave from nirvana and taylor from Alanis Morrisette)

great drummers, raspy singers :P Taylor sings Tie your mother down when they played with brian and roger from queen at Hyde park too

  • Affirmative.

  • yo quiero un cigarro!!!!

  • Primus' version is better! Yup!

  • Such a powerful and unique cover. Better than Primus' version in my opinion

  • There's no way to top Pink Floyd. I think the Foo Fighters are great and they did in their own way n all, but it's like trying to beat Michael Jordan at his peak in a little one on one.

  • Comment removed

  • its good but come on it does not beat the original

  • Some times you just don't beat the original. The Rule definitely applies here. Pink Floyd. Best Band In History

  • I like both Pink Floyd and the Foo Fighters, not to mention Primus, but hands down Pink Floyd's version is the best. The Foo Fighters are decent, you may disagree with me on this note, but Pink Floyd are rock legends, I have immense respect for Dave Grohl in particular, but Pink Floyd's version is a masterpiece.

  • Better than original

  • BullShit

  • i like this cover its fuckin goood, ye kno whats shit;the comfortably numb cover by..wait for it.....the fuckin scissor sisters!!??!?!?!?!??!!?!?!? THEY DESTROYED IT

  • They played it in their own style, nothing wrong with that.

  • i was complimenting the foos, cant u read?

  • damn good cover! Primus also did a good cover of this song

  • no primus's wasnt as good.

  • Long time Floyd fan, first time I hear this... Its good.

  • Just huge...

  • i love both versions, but in all fairness prefer this one...

  • interesting how the two versions compare

the original, to me, has a sense of both bliss and depression mixed together

this version tends to lose that emotion because of the style, but its still a good song

  • There's no doubt that the first version is done better, but it was written by and FOR Pink Floyd which is why it contains so much more emotion. This version is just taking a great song and doing it a heavy rocky justice. It's nice.

  • im a huge floyd fan and hate any covers but this is alright

  • nice try

  • It's okay, I guess... But not Pink Floyd quality.

  • it's not pink floyd quality,it's way better than pink floyd

  • I fucking love Pink Floyd, but my mate showed me this cover yesterday and I was blown away, they've done a VERY good job of making this song much heavier. Beautiful.

  • been a while :)

  • oh...that comment goes to..safetosaydontquoteme

  • hmm, not an idiot.

  • No, your a cunt , a pussy and an arsehole all rolled into one enormously smelly orafice. Now fuck off, Safetosayyourgay.

  • no, i wouldn't go onto a pink floyd video and go "oh fuck this song, foo fighters are so much better." so i think you guys are the faggots. expecially with a name like doombringer, what kind of fag are you?

  • You have been CUNT SPLATTED.

safetosay you take it in the ass.

  • wow, way to try to shut me down with homophobic comments. you know saying i'm gay doesn't insult me. because you're just using insults that you just assume and aren;t true.i probably get more woman then you

  • who care's let's not argue but enjoy a damn good song that's what the Floyds all about

  • Love this

  • this shits doin too much

  • this is the way david gilmour wanted it. too bad roger waters was too stoned all the time to understand.

  • you are an idiot

  • You can call this a GrooveLess cover

  • first time i tried the cola , made sure this shit was cranked !!!!!!!!!

  • bullshit

  • Yeah right! you suck!

  • i love this cover version

  • I prefer the original but this is a legit cover. Dr. May is a guitar genius and the Foo Fighters could be made into a monster if they all pulled together as a team.

  • taylor is a way better singer than roy, check the fist version(without brian may) done by the Foos..that's closer to classic r'n'r style

  • The Primus cover of this song is way better, way better!!!

  • Not really, in fact Primus is pretty fucking gay in my opinion, he's talented sure, but none of his original music is any good at all.

  • Since when was Primus a person/one-man band?

  • What? I didn't say anything about Primus.

  • If dissonance makes a bad song, you're right 'bout their music. If you equalize "gay" & "bad" and "Primus" & "Claypool", you should try n think again. Maybe it'll work next time.

  • What? I never said anything like that.

  • bullshit..fuckin bullshit

  • When you're Rock vets like the fighters.......its ok to cover any song. But I hate it when rookie bands cover songs only to get famous......pisses me off.

  • I think that I very much prefer Pink Floyd's version, but that's not to say that this is bad. Infact, it's not bad at all...quite an interesting take.

But Roger Waters sings it in an unmatchable manner.

  • .......actually Roger Water's doesn't sing that song........and neither did David Gilmour.

  • Roy Wood sings the original song on the Wish You Where Here album.

  • .....I see right on........thanks alot.

  • actually, it was Roy Harper.

  • You're right! Dont know where I got Roy Wood from..........

  • Yeahhh just like clit easywood... you perv
