Not to judge anything that he is saying because he has some really good points, but it's not that hard to be in the world and not of it. You can be a president and say you love God all you want, but are you bearing the fruit of a president that loves God? that's the thing, and you can do anything in the name of Jesus, but it's easier said than done.

Hearing someone's testimony may also help someone want to know more about God. I think putting that out there is a good thing. I have shared my testimony before and it helps me as well as others. @MrMonkeyanal I finished watching the videos by the people that you recommended and this is my opinion of them. Paul Washer excells in showmanship. It's easy to lose yourself in the passion of his preaching but the man is trying to change all the rules of Christianity without any reasoning. He simply says, "Change because you are a sinner." He says your only hope is to be like Jesus Christ, but he says to let the damned be damned. Is that what Jesus would do? I really doubt it.
@MrMonkeyanal I also watched Kent Hovind's seminar on Creationism. I noticed that he cited sources in the Bible that had nothing to do with anything. He cited "For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is..." as being proof Adam saw a dinosaur when the passage didn't mention any such thing. He also claimed the earth was mostly land. If it was, the atmosphere would be uninhabitable and Adam and Eve would have died shortly after being created. Is he serious?

Even if God created the atmosphere, it would deteriorate without a sufficient mass of water. Did you know that the majority of our oxygen doesn't come from the trees, but from our oceans? Forget burning to death, Adam and Eve would have suffocated to death.

@MrMonkeyanal I'm not an atheist on a whim. I used to be christian. I used to pray. It took years for me to develop my own beliefs. Unlike you, I'm willing to look at both sides of the coin. But this is becoming ridiculous. We've been arguing for days. If you're happier believing in God, be my guest. If you're more comfortable finding faith than finding truth, then do what makes you happy. Maybe after some life experience, you'll be more willing to see the world for what it is.

I have many friends that converted to atheism from Christianity, but these "religions" are merely schools of thought, neither of which are right for everybody. It's easy to lose yourself in the passion of his preaching but the man is trying to change all the rules of Christianity without any reasoning. He simply says, "Change because you are a sinner." He says your only hope is to be like Jesus Christ, but he says to let the damned be damned. Is that what Jesus would do? I really doubt it.

@MrMonkeyanal I also watched Kent Hovind's seminar on Creationism. I noticed that he cited sources in the Bible that had nothing to do with anything. He cited "For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is..." as being proof Adam saw a dinosaur when the passage didn't mention any such thing. He also claimed the earth was mostly land. If it was, the atmosphere would be uninhabitable and Adam and Eve would have died shortly after being created. Is he serious?

But this is becoming ridiculous. We've been arguing for days. If you're happier believing in God, be my guest. If you're more comfortable finding faith than finding truth, then do what makes you happy. Maybe after some life experience, you'll be more willing to see the world for what it is.

The electrical circuitry that constitutes your "mind" shuts down, and your body is reclaimed by nature from whence it came. I also don't believe the world was made for us.
