Theres like 10 other resorts in VT that allow snowboarding. But you come to Mad River Glen? The terrain there isnt meant for snowboarders. Its all moguls with one or two groomers. I know, some snowboarders arent all that bad. But MRG is where I go to get away from the rest of the obnoxious snowboarders. The bums that tear up the good terrain. Poaching wont solve your problems. It just makes skiers angry.

As an avid skier and someone who enjoys moguls I must point out the effects of an inexperienced snowboarder on mogul formation. When any inexperienced mountain slider learns how to maneuver in the bumps there is a fair amount of side sliding. The snowboard with its increased surface area tends to cut the top of the bump and elongate the shape of the moguls. If one were to compare pictures of bump runs at MRG with a snowboard friendly resort the difference would be obvious. Continued in next

An experienced snowboarder (like me) can do moguls just fine without damaging them. Many boarders are just too lazy to tire their legs on moguls and that's why they suck at them. I think the root of the "snowboarder vs. skier" thing can be blamed on the racer-type skiers. Never had a problem with a snowboarder, and through a lot of park skiing, it seems there is a mutual respect between us. On the other hand, my friends and I have had many an issue with racers and their spandex suits. I say let them stay at their ski-only places, so we don't have to deal with them elsewhere.
I bet half of the people that posted something negative about this video don't really ski as often (lets say under 30 days per/yr). I live in a ski town and we have no problem with each other; however, we do have problems with people that have little experience (noobs, gapers-whatever you want to call them). Fact of the matter is that this was some fun fed by a contest. If snowboarders turned a place like Jackson Hole into a snowboard only resort, we would have skiers poach as well.
im not sure some of the people helped our case by accosting the skiers. the rivalry is still fun. some places that are overun by us the skiers feel threatend and revert back to their old prejudices. i do see on average 2ice as many drunk skiers then snowboarders, snowboarders drink skiers get drunk. Skiing came first and remains the first to cross the line...every time. No wonder skier-cross and boarder-cross didn't work in the same event at the X-games! extremely true about deer valley, i'm a skier, and even i don't think it's worth it, unless you're some 80-year-old looking to say that you can ski a double diamond that at snowbird would be equal to chickadee. but don't trash the east coast mountains, they're still great, but just because they don't have helicopters, backcountry skiing, and aren't thousands of feet high doesn't mean they suck, but i guess you have to grow up east coast to love east and west, and i both ski and board too
good places have great powder, though. I go to mad river a lot, and they never seem to have too much ice, it's mostly fresh powder over night. but i know what you're talking about; the shitty overpriced mountains like stratton which i'm convinced they groom with a zamboni, and killington which i'm pretty sure is the same, except with moguls. you just have to pick and time correctly in vermont, but other than w ay, way north vermont, ski west coast

It seems people blow the whole snowboarder vs. skier rivalry to a much greater extent then what it really is. There are good boarders and skiers alike. Obviously beginners on both sides suck ass and ruin slopes. Being a boarder and skier I know how both feel. Boarders do have a tendency to cut people off (due to a blind spot that skiers dont have) sit in the middle of slopes etc. Yet I have met some stuck up pieces of shit die hard skiers (usually old and wealthy)

im not sure some of the people helped our case by accosting the skiers. the rivalry is still fun. some places that are overun by us the skiers feel threatend and revert back to their old prejudices. i do see on average 2ice as many drunk skiers then snowboarders, snowboarders drink skiers get drunk. Why is everybody on Youtube such haters, i snowboard and have a lot of twin tip friends and have never had a problem with a skier when i wasnt an asshole first. Also everybody saying Burton is only in it for the money... Well no shit I wonder why every other company started up. It definitely wasn't to make money, that wouldnt make sense. Skiing came first and remains the first to cross the line...every time. No wonder skier-cross and boarder-cross didn't work in the same event at the X-games! extremely true about deer valley, i'm a skier, and even i don't think it's worth it, unless you're some 80-year-old looking to say that you can ski a double diamond that at snowbird would be equal to chickadee. but don't trash the east coast mountains, they're still great, but just because they don't have helicopters, backcountry skiing, and aren't thousands of feet high doesn't mean they suck, but i guess you have to grow up east coast to love east and west, and i both ski and board too

good places have great powder, though. I go to mad river a lot, and they never seem to have too much ice, it's mostly fresh powder over night. but i know what you're talking about; the shitty overpriced mountains like stratton which i'm convinced they groom with a zamboni, and killington which i'm pretty sure is the same, except with moguls. you just have to pick and time correctly in vermont, but other than w ay, way north vermont, ski west coast

It seems people blow the whole snowboarder vs. skier rivalry to a much greater extent then what it really is. There are good boarders and skiers alike. Obviously beginners on both sides suck ass and ruin slopes. Being a boarder and skier I know how both feel. Boarders do have a tendency to cut people off (due to a blind spot that skiers dont have) sit in the middle of slopes etc. Yet I have met some stuck up pieces of shit die hard skiers (usually old and wealthy)

And Alta and MRG don't even have rails, it's all terrain that I guarantee would put you on your ass, which is where most snowboarders spent the majority of their time anyway.
