@flicfan416 In the town where I live Spring Awakening is coming, so I got tickets for it. I hope though she'll be playing Wendla that performance. You know how there is an understudy, if the main actor/actress can't perform that day.
High school students? Wow! Their voices are unbelievable. If I may make one suggestion (having seen this musical about five times): Have Kim drop the note as it symbolizes her shattered dream.
OK ellen sounds like she trying to just make basic small talk at the beginning, it's not believable. Once again kim is the only one building realistic intensity in this scene, ellen just isn't believable.
How do you expect Ellen to react to Kim, it is hard on her too. She was trying to make the best of an uncomfortable situation, it just didn't turn out that way.

I didn't just see the show, I worked on it for over 2 months, so, if you are unsure, I can clarify for you that yes, everything was sung, while the actors were on stage!

I just read on Playbill.com that Elizabeth Judd who plays Kim on here, is starring in the new tour of Spring Awakening as Wendla. Good for her!

They both have wonderful voices. I agree that Ellen's acting wasn't the best, but the girl is only 14! I wish I could sound like that and I'm 16!

She is trying to make small talk. To minimize the trauma she thinks Kim is under. That's the way that scene is always played.

Very good they both have amazing voices. But when ellen introduced herself it almost sounded as if she said her name was Allen.
