1 year ago, when they first showed these pokemon designs, I used to hate ALL OF THEM. But as I played the game and got to see them in action they start looking perfectly normal. The only designs which I don't like are Vanlilte and its evolution, Throh, Sawk, and Garbodor (Trubbish is awesome!). But then again, in gen1 we had crap pokemon like Grimer, Tangela etc.

I don't think the new Pokémon suck. What is happening is that the fandom are making rules up as to how a Pokémon should be designed, and these 'rules' are WAY too strict. They include:

- The Pokémon must be completely original, or it sucks

- The Pokémon must not look AT ALL strange, or it sucks

- The Pokémon must not have any human characteristics, or it sucks

- The Pokémon must not look like a Yu-Gi-Oh! monster or a Digimon, or it sucks

There should be no limits to a Pokémon's design IMO.

Nintendo should have worked harder on the Gen V Pokémon but nostalgiatards are acting like the world is ending just because the new Pokémon are 'fugly'. 99% of Pokémon fans are stuck in the past and I can think of some Gen I Pokémon with lazy designs e.g. Diglett, Tangela. Compare some old pokemon to the new ones, the old ones had depth and had clever names and designs. The new ones can be put together by a bunch of young kids as evident in the amount of "Fakemon" designs on the internet. It's not really artwork, it's laziness to me. Nintendo could and should do much better.

@Strike1s Ken didn't design all of them (Like Golurk for instance), but some his gen V fit right in with gen 1 Pokemon. I think why some people give gen V flak is because some of the designs (which would be fine for some other game) don't really fit in and feel like they came from Nickelodeon or something, but that's fine.

If the Gen V Pokémon's cries truly sounded the same, Nintendo would have only created one cry and given every Gen V Pokémon that one cry. To sound the same, every Pokémon would have the EXACT SAME noise at the EXACT SAME pitch. Get your ears tested and stop longing for the past because there's no turning back now.

Some people have emotional attachments to the series like I do. I know I can't go back, it would be stupid to think that I could, but that doesn't mean that I can't look back fondly on the memories and miss them. So I look back at the fun times we had trading pokemon on our gameboys and watching the series early in the morning. Sleeping in out Pokemon clothes and littering our walls with pokemon pictures and posters. Imo the calls sound very similar, many of them are repeats but in a different tone of pitch. The designs are very lazy compared to the orignal generation. Cont.

The difference between Sawsbuck and Garbador is that Garbador's cry is 50 centiseconds longer in the beginning. Sawsbuck's cry starts halfway through Garbador's cry. That's the difference, so stop freaking arguing about it!!
