Portishead Live -Third - Part 1 of 4

"Third" has a vibe that is distinctively different from Portishead's previous work. It must be great if you can feel that, as so many apparently do, but I for one do miss the slow and deep beats and uncanny scratches and samples that harmonized so perfectly with Beth Gibbon's hauntingly beautiful voice. Anyone else out there who misses the "old" Portishead?

THIRD is as good as, if not better than, the previous ones. It's a damn shame it didn't get the response it deserved. Hope it's not the last from this GREAT band and their unique, poignant sound. They reflect the desperation of our age, they announce the end of our era, if not of humanity. We are SO far from rap crap, Celine, Lady Gaga and all that superficial bull here... This is serious music to be taken seriously by those having a capacity for introspection, observation, and an ear...
