I just hope he is able to live-up to the awesomeness that Death Note the anime holds, because while I don't hate Zac Efron, I don't love him either. And while I believe it is totally alien to have HIM play LIGHT, I just really hope it comes out good. If it comes out. AND, I also hope that little girls WONT start liking Death Note just because of Zac. 'Cause seriously, I'd be majorly pissed off if that where to happen.

... I have mixed felings about Zac playing Light...People are complaining just because he also did those suckily stupid High School Musical movies, but then again, he's done other roles, too. I mean, actors are actors, no matter what role they play. Just because he did a few really dumb Disney movies, doesn't mean that he couldn't do a good Light. Then again, he will also probably butcher the role. That or Hollywood will totally screw up Death Note and have millions of fans P.O.ed. Who knows?

I really don't understand why so many people are against this. Zac Effron is honestly a decent actor, just because he starred in high school musical doesn't mean he isn't capable of more serious movies. A lot of young actors and actresses started with Disney, Hilary Duff, Lindsey Lohan, Shia labeouf, and they are far from what they started with. Hell even Simon Cowell started his career with the Teletubbies
