i just bought a samsung bx2431 led. It is alright but i am more of a looks person i like having things that look nice and clean.but i am thinking of taking this back and purchasing this one.
@narutocaprirequest2 I dont use a desktop but have my mac book pro that i purchased back in 2007 that i use with it. I want to use my newer mac with it but i havent bought a mini display port to hdmi connector yet
@narutocaprirequest2 That i can not answer for you because the computer doesnt determine that. The graphics card and available resolution will give you a possibility of a greater resolution as long as the monitor can handle it.
Hi, I found you video very helpful as I was planning on buying this one as a tv, since it has a tv turner but now... Oh well, I changed my mind and will start my search again.
Is there a recommendation that you could make for a small 22-23 inches tv?
@Cipriana777 I can sure try to help but you arent giving me much information. What isnt working on it. One of the things with samsung products is that it is hit or miss with a new product. You either get it and it works perfectly for a long time or something is broken to a point where you cant use the dang thing. if you have a warranty on it you may be able to at least send it in to get fixed.
@RPGMaster9CR yes it does but the hdmi cable it comes with is super short. I luckily had a longer hdmi cable around and use it more then i do the one that actually came with the monitor
I bought myself an HP i5 laptop two weeks ago. Windows 7 certainly runs better than Vista. It does help having 4GB of RAM though. Hope the Samsung SyncMaster is still going well.
you can just attach an antenna and use that but you will only receive a couple of channels. otherwise i would suggest paying for cable service. But with both the tv and monitor i have just attached an antenna and received air frequencies.
yes the samsung tv remote works for both the monitor and the tv as does the monitor remote work for both. the samsung sound system that i have needs a different remote to turn on but any one of the three remotes can turn it off. so if you have the everything close together and you only want to turn off the tv expect the monitor to turn off sometimes to.
For anyone else shopping for a HDTV LCD 'desktop' monitor here are the Samsung alternatives I've been looking at:
2333HD (23" / 1920 x 1080 / 5ms / DC 10,000:1
T240HD-1 (24" / 1920 x 1200 / 5ms / DC 10,000:1
P2570HD (24.6" / 1920 x 1080 / 4ms / DC 50,000:1
T260HD (25.5" / 1920 x 1200 / 5ms / DC 10,000:1
What got me with this P2570HD was primarily the contrast ratio and the 4ms response time. However, the T240HD can be bought for slightly less and it has an extra HDMI port.
Man, I was planning on getting the P2570HD hands down no questions compared to P2370HD...
Since you posted that list and talked about the T240HD, I can't stop thinking... Bigger is what I like but I like the edge-frame for the P2570HD (less bulge)
I'm going to order either the T24HD or P2570HD by next thursday though
I dont know where you got information on a hidden hdmi port, but unless you can tell me where this is hidden and how to get to it I know there is only one hdmi port and that is in the back. It looks like there is a spot on the side where they could have hidden one but you cant access it and under the sources menu it only displays one hdmi port.
Hey, quick question i just bought it yesterday and i used HDMI port for my ps3 so i connected it with my HP PC by using VGA cable. but with PC channel the resolution can only reach to maximum of1600x1200. but if i switch VGA cable to HDMI cable then with HDMI channel it can be set to 1920x1080. can you help me out???
At 4:58 it does appear as if he's using a cable box with his standard TV.
I have a 1080p DTV box and after hearing him talk about how bad the quality is on the P2570HD it may have just swayed me AGAINST buying it.
4partsb, could you follow up your review with the cable box hooked into the P2570HD? Perhaps a reversal of your setup shown in this video? So far you're the only review I can find here on YouTube.
to respond to your comment that is not a cable box next to the tv. That is the samsung HT-Z420T 5.1 surround sound system with DVD player. As for the when i said the monitor is bad quality well that is why it is not a tv. it should be used as a primary monitor for computer or video gaming system. which for that it works great. but it has the capability of being used as a secondary tv. so the quality wont be as good as a primary tv. hope this helps
Thanks alot for this video it was great! i was waiting for an P2570hd unboxing. Could you give your comments on the 4ms response time? how bad/noticeable is it when playing games?
DUDEEE!! thank good you´ve made this,,i don´t know wich monitor choose,,this one or the HP 2509m i dont care about the tv turner, but i´m so confused : S
well to try and answer your question it is all on what you are looking for. as far as the specs go for both they seem to be the same. the hp does have a 10,000:1 more dynamic contrast ration but you would never be able to really see this difference since they are already at such high numbers. Keep in mind that they both only have 60hz resolution so the picture still wont be as fluid as you may like. personally for me the look of the samsung beats the hp and the samsung comes with a greater
variety of inputs in the back. even if you dont use the tv tuner it has a rgb connection if you dont have the hdmi connection for a gaiming system. if you want to use multiple devices connecting with hdmi cable you arent going to find that in either of these monitors since they only have 1hdmi input. personally for me it came down to just the look of the model and samsung has that hands down. otherwise they are extreamly similar monitors and with out seeing them next to each other its hard to
thks a lot men!!! i´ll keep all that in mind, you are right about the contrast ratio difference,i would never be able to se the difference, thank´s 4 your help : ]
In retrospect, I should have just gotten one of these monitors. Instead, I decided to go the elitist route and I got an Apple Cinema display off Craigslist. Aaaaaaaaand it gives me power supply errors. Bleh.
