  • Does anyone remember the Hawaiian Style Band, which featured a rotating membership, including Bruddah Iz, Bryan Kessler (guitarist and vocalist), etc.?

    Mahalo.

    Ahuiho

    Maui no ka oi

  • Very nice. But there was only one Hawaiian Style Band and what a shame it had such a short life in the 1990s.

  • This may be a bit late, but I think they are located in Yokahama, Japan.

  • willie k kapena

  • Sounds like a Japanese singing no ka puana ana, peinei o pari, ho-i(?), hanarei, ra, piri. hahaha

  • mamo, you are such a jerk. I am haole American and can sing and speak Hawaiian, as well as Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Tai and others. How many other languages can you speak and sing in? You know nothing of how wonderful the Japanese people are. I would think you would post comment praising another culture to take the time to learn the Hawaiian way. It is people like you that this worls is in such a mess. Myself, I enjoy her singing very much.

  • U didn't reply correctly so I didn't know u replied to me. No, not a jerk at all. Stating that u speak other languages mean nothing. But since u asked, I can only speak Hawaiian, Portuguese & Spanish pretty well, tend to Portuguesize my Galego a bit. Today I practiced what 1 semester of Italian I had 17 yrs ago, which is better than my yr. of French. This wasn't a stab 2 Japanese people r & I grew up in the culture unlike u. Don't preach 2me on a Hawn. way since I didnt grow up on Oahu.

  • Pono oe e heluhelu makakau i na mea i hoolaha ia ma anei. Unlike urself who had 2 learn the culture, I grew up in it, so I don't see it like u do, as in trying to appreciate something foreign. For me, it is a part of my life, even if I'm not Japanese. And this isn't American Idol so I don't have to praise for ur behalf but at the same time I wasn't ridiculing that person, simply stating fact. If u really understand phonology w/ diff. langs., u would understand that why I said that..

  • Mamoahina-- Samoans and Tongans should learn from the Japanese/Chinese how to sing nicely--polystyle ;) hehe..Poly4Life

  • Ouch! hahahaha

  • Aloha Kawika. The name of the bar is " The Lei Hale" in Kannai of Yokohama near the Tokyo. The Hawaiian musician often comes to this bar. For example George Naope,Bulla" Kailiwai,Cody Pueo Pata,Amy Hanaiali'i,Willie K.,Hapa etc. When you came to Japan, please come to the Lei Hale. You look forward to coming.
