  • hey, when you run out of ammo, you can throw it at your opponent! LOL

  • I'm impressed Nut'n, you are an honest person. I see you review gear that is way out of my pay grade, but then you bring in the moderate and I buy what I can. Then you bring out this piece and I go "WHAT!" Then you give it a truly honest review. I'd been thinking about getting a few for the WHAT IF scenario and now I'm sold on getting them.

  • A very fair and accurate review of this gun. Great job. Thanks.

  • Thanks for an excellent and very accurate review of this gun.

  • Id go with that Ruger for a few dollars more... one more month of saving and the min wage man has it. I like hi point, I owned a 45ACP and it was a good handgun, but it was ugly etc. all my friends had Rugers, Beretta's, etc. so I wanted something nice. I got trade credit for $200 on my .45 which IMO is a steal on a Glock 19. I am now debating buying a 9mm hi-point to fire with my Glock.

  • Having to send away for a replacement part right from the get-go of this review does not speak "highly" of its' quality, workmanship and reliability. Not to mention, damn fugly lol. Bottom line: You get what you pay for. In this case, a chunk-o-junk : / Great price though, and as always excellent review NUTNFANCY.

  • i like the carbine also, its accurate .thanks for tell it the way it is.

  • Thank u for doing this review. After lots of u-tubing, I just bought my first pistol - a C9. I wanted something else but its all I can afford right now. Its purely a home defense gun for my home and family. My friend took me to his range and he could not believe what i paid and was very skeptical. My aim sucks until I practice more but he shot a 3" group at 7yds first time and so i know its accurate. Ate 50 rounds, no jams or issues. For me and for now, its gr8. Sincere thx nutnfancy. u sold me!

  • If it goes "BANG" every time you pull the trigger, then it's just about perfect for a truck gun. I can see two big advantages to a reliable gun at this price point... #1 - If it gets scratched/beat up, you don't sweat it; #2 it is a minimal financial exposure for theft.

Is the .45 and the .40 dependable, too?

I've thought about getting one for each of my kids, just so they have one that is "all theirs".

  • Honestly, if you can shoot accurately with it and it is reliable once broken in, the weight and lack of ergonomics and comfort can be negated. Reliability and accuracy are the most important factors.

  • lol@ 5:10 "Hi-Point, C9. GOOD LUCK IN THE GUN FIGHT!"

  • Throw away gun, at its best.

  • this is a $130 bargain right

  • just got 6 of my friends to buy these this tax season. its there first gun and now there hooked and looking into other guns. so i think i did my job.

  • came to watch your video...instead ended up watching a half hour ron paul advertisement. double win for me i say.

  • good review

  • definitely a shit gun. I guess theyre ok if you just wanna plink and nothing more.

  • where is that $5 gun?

  • if its a Luger it cant be that bad

  • Iraqveteran8888 has a good series of videos of them destroying one of these, at the end of their testing they figured while now the best pistol, it won't blow up on you.

  • They are by far not the best looking guns. However, they are made in the USA and are very accurate. For less than $150 you really can not go wrong with it. Yes other guns are available and better but for the cost they are not bad guns at all. Also all Hi-Point guns come with a lifetime warranty.

  • thumbnail looks fucked up

  • BUy what you can afford at times.

  • Hmm.. Maybe I'll pick one up to bury in a cache.

  • If ya want to review a POS...review a Lorcin.

  • I dont own one, but to quote a comment I seen somewhere on Youtube about a highpoint pistol..........." Break into my house at 2 AM then tell me mine don't work".....If its all ya can afford at the moment, get one. Like nutnfancy said, if you have a boat, you will need an anchor, eventually, nothing so cheap can last forever.

  • Beleive it or not my raven 25 is a blowback , tiny gun thats extremely accurate!!! bouce a tin can around until mag is emptied, only 7 rounds though.

  • My first semi... Spent weeks looking up reviews, modifications and fixes. Went out and got it yesterday and have to say I am pleased considering the price. Will learn from it and next year bump it up a notch. Good review!

  • Everytime I see this gun, for some reason my rage goes through the roof on how ugly this thing is and how much I hate it and i automatically call anyone who swears by it fools, just because I'm a hater. I don't mean to be, but I am. Kind of like how you have that annoying kid in class you cant stand.. same thing.. just with a pistol. But great review.

  • great vid.....my mother just bought 1 an she did her homework after she made the buy......she herd nothing but bad things then she watched this upload.....thanks for making her feel better....by the way she bugs me everyday about going to the range lol

  • Thanks for the review. I think I'm going to get one to plink with and build my handgun proficiency before I get something nicer.

  • I will not give up my booze and cigarettes, thank you. However, I do firmly believe in layaway programs.

  • I'm Tired of all the keyboard cowboys that shit talk this great pistol.....

  • @gunfuego I feel the same, some think just because it doesn't cost as much as a Glock it's trash....

  • Great review! Loved the movie it's always in my netflix que. About 15 years ago a guy pulled one of those on one of my friends girlfriend and the clip dropped out. Lucky I had a pocket pistol on me (Beretta 21a 25 cal) he took off down the street.

  • Great job of showing how u give the products a fair chance in your reviews. Got my .45 for $125 a couple years ago. Took my wife to the range as a first time shooter. She went through 6 mags and got all round on target.

  • You had me laughing at about 18:00 talking about the mag disconnect safety stupid thingy. I sooo totally agree. Hate safeties in general on striker fired or DOA pistols/revolvers and doubly hate mag disconnects or other gay redundant safety features. Guess I just feel like pistols are hunks of steel and therefore inanimate objects; ultimately, the "safety" is between the ears kids! Don't even get me started on these guns that can lock the action with a separate key.(stepping off soapbox)

  • You have many fans. You should wear eye pro just to set a good example if nothing else. Shooting steel targets with no eye pro is asinine.

  • why do people talk sometimes it gets me?? on the mag there are two clips one on each side that holds the bullet in place watch the video and you will then understand just like people talking trash about hi point before using one (yes the mags should work right with out correction when you buy it but this isnot a perfect world)

  • watch the video you knew what i ment didnt you ?? then what the hell is the problem kids??

  • Love your videos. The only issue I have is when your making a point, i.e. a visual point, and instead of a pip showing the live fire vids, your showing a full size one while making a point or showing an example. I have bought several guns based on your videos and you provide a lot of good pertinent info. I look forward to seeing more of them, keep up the good work.

  • movie and gun review kick ass...as always. lol

  • when your hi point jams its the clip and i can show you on my pade how to fix this problem

  • @OutDoorsMenNamedStix You said clip i would never take gun advice from you.

  • @OutDoorsMenNamedStix hi points have clips!?? i thought they were magazines all along...

  • It is just to ugly. I wouldn't want to be caught dead with that thing on me LOL j/k

  • I'm ex military, and have an uncountable amount of rounds under my belt with a M-16. When it come's to hand guns however I am a total Novice (Beginner even to be totally honest) I have owned the 45acp from Hi-Point loved it, but like I said I'm a beginner. I'm looking for something that's a good home definse/SHTF handgun with cash limited to around $300 to $400 what would you without a doubt choose. Any chamber size.

  • @BassSniperTV zastava m88a 9mm. 8rd capacity, very concealable - 250 usd

  • @BassSniperTV

Try the SIG SP 2022. Nutnfancy did a great review on it. You can find a model in .40 or 9mm for only $350-$400. All the great qualities you want from a SIG SAUER for less than half the price...

  • I recently purchased a C9, .45 ACP and TS4595. The first thing I do with any gun, new or used, is break it down and clean it. It's been about 15 degrees here so I really haven't had a chance to really field test them but I managed to take them out one day and put through 50 Federal FMJ's through each. They all fired without a hitch and I hit my mark every shot.

Fobus makes molded paddle holsters for the Hi-Point pistols. I picked one up for each and my t-shirt covers it pretty good.

  • the high point is very expensive at 150 bucks,, in the end you will have your money waisted

  • I own a high point and i'm having problems with the magazine falling out wile i'm shooting has anybody else had this problem?

  • @george29178 hahahahah you had a problem wanting one,, you had another problem when you got it,, you will have a problem having one...

  • Say what you will about the HiPont Series pistol, it's a contender for the most valuable purchase.

First, here in Florida they run around $145 before tax

Second, they work. Work dirty, work underwater and work dry (no oil). I've even seen one work with a nail in the barrel.

Third, they are accurate. The barrel is mated to the handle, so no slack like in a Glock or 1911.

Fourth, the weight makes them good clubs in an emergency.

  • You wanna see some sexy steel? Watch The Quick And The Dead. Way to go Nutnfancy!!

  • Drug dealer or gansta gun ...

  • @CatfishMan43 or home defense for someone that doesn't have or want to waste money on a name...

  • well ill be 100% honest. Ill buy another hipoint b4 a ruger. Sorry but ive had a bad run with a ruger and had 5x as many jams with it in 15 min than my hipoint in 4 years. Kinda sucks cause i personaly like rugers.. but nope ill pass

  • @JDK1981 i carry my hipoint CCW as well, never had a problem

  • @JDK1981 Hey compare the hipoint to the competitors in the same price range, youll soon see the rest are total trash, and the hipoint wins hands down. For the price its is a great gun. in the same price range all you find is shitty pot metal, break in 5 shot guns. I know this for fact. I baught another gun for looks, lol brok after 50 rounds with a cracked slide. My hipoint has been through over 1k rounds and going great. O yeah, 3 jams in 4 years.

  • @JDK1981 LOL 4th comment ..i know i know..but im watching this 30 min vid, lol, I could have got any gun for the range of 350 or so, but the long trigger pull on those guns i cant stand !!! I took the hipoint for the NON- 3 mile trigger pull lol

  • Hey, it could be a gun that you bury in your back yard for whenever all this hits the fan.

  • Good and evil don't exist. They are all subjective.

  • why that gun is so small, the hi-point c9 i used to have is much bigger than that one

  • Wow, a unbiased view of it that didnt end up blowing up the damn thing by blocking the barrel and putting the damn thing in a C clamp to keep it from recoiling because 'its a piece of shit.' like SOME youtube gun channels.

  • The first gun i ever shot on my own was a high point model 101

  • OMG LOL sometime you roll in footage during your tabletops and it has sound.. then someone talks in the background (I'm in a sound studio) and the voice comes out loud out of a side channel and i think they are in the room... scary yet funny

  • Good review, I had to laugh at 22:30 when you said "I dont know, buy less booze, cigarettes, whatever."

  • I can't watch that movie without thinking about this review. Love it.

  • had one in .380 as the first pistol I shot.

    the recoil is hilariously minimal.

    was a fine gun.

Still don't want to own one ever again.

  • Octagon?

  • Gun of choice for south Dallas gang members

  • Good, honest review, you just sold another hi point.

  • Talk about a high bore axis

  • Check out Boondock Saints if you like good assasin movies with a hallarious twists.

  • great intro i didnt remember tht part at first but a smile slowly came to my face as you were retelling the scene

  • Only reason i'd buy a gun is to blow my brains out

  • @ferdin12 so are you watching videos trying to find a good cheap reliable gun to do so...lmao

  • its a good, accurate, inexpensive hand gun. whats wrong with that? as far as the weight, i prefer a heavier gun in my hand, i cant stand most Glocks for that very reason.

  • @teamdothis When you have to carry a gun All day weight becomes an issue.

  • great review only the hi-point comes with an additional ghost sight. also they do make a rubber grip. there are multiple reviews on this firearm all having different grips then the standard black polymer. i think you should have done more research. gun snobs piss me off. watch "the ultimate test, MAN vs HI POINT. they put this gun through incredible tests and the firearm was beat up but not deadlined.

  • I have been CCing a CF380 for a couple months (I've saved up for an LC9, almost there) and I've gotten used to it. No printing, just a heck of a lot of weight.

  • Thanks for the review man! I am thinking of getting a .40 cal for the house and I dont make alot of money at all right now. I wanted to hear the downside to this gun and you put it out there. I heard nothing but good reviews before you and I was still skeptical because it would be the ONLY pistol out there if it was perfect like everyone else was saying because of the price. Much appreciated and in depth review! Keep it up!

  • @Emperor00id I have a Hi-Point 45 in my home for home defense. It is a big, ugly gun, but it works great. It is not a CC weapon. If you're going to buy one, get the 45. It is a much more potent round and not much more expensive.

  • the hi point 45's are actually really good guns no joke

  • How much are they?

No reason to not just get a TT33. They cost like 200 here. (all be it no point buying a Restricted class weapon. pain in the ass range only laws. need a transport permit blah blah blah.)

  • Twice I've seen Hi-Point 9mms at a public range a few years ago. One was owned by a young man, his first handgun. He told me that was what he could afford at the time. At 25 yards he hit standard silhouette target with few misses. Not pretty tight groups. The second time a man and woman took turns shooting one at a 12" bullseye target .Again some misses, most on target. I'm not buying one but these folks can defend themselves from what I saw.

  • @michu070 Dude just save up for a bit more and get a good used gun. I bought a fullsize USP .40 for $450 bucks. Sure it's from 1993 but it runs like it's from 2012. Trust me in the long run it will be much more rewarding and cheaper than trying to sell that hi-point later.

  • @michu070 Do what I did and save up for 3 months to buy a 1911.

  • @Sooprazn yeah ur totally right, but i need a new computer more to be honest

  • @michu070 Priorities...Priorities....

  • I think I'll save up an extra $100 and get me a walther p99, or heck an H&K USP

  • Daewoo DP51 for 185$? I have never found one under 250$ mostly 250-400$

  • I have over a thousand rounds through my hi point 45 and haven't had a single failure of any kind. I can't say that about any other pistol I own. It is also incredibly accurate and the heavy weight helps with that through reduced recoil. It's not a great gun to hand down or that I expect to last my lifetime but I believe I can put several thousand more rounds through it with no issues. Pretty good for $160. 9/10 cost considered.

  • Good unbiased review. I still would never buy one. Lol.

  • @MrPwnag3 Same

  • @MrPwnag3 Nor would I...

  • Thanks for making this very articulated, un-biased Hi-Point review. May not be the prettiest, but then again, I'm not planning on stopping and sharing my viewpoints with any any perps should I need to use it............. on them! Great Video!

  • so ugly pistol

  • some hi points have the lights and options and also there is ghost rigns sight and lasers but thats about it

  • I have a Phoenix HP22 and it gets a bad rep too. But it has better quality and reliability and even as good of looks a Beretta equivalent. Never had any type of bad with it except a magazine coming from the factory kinda funny (need to call in about it tbh). I was the one i got when i ordered the "range kit" which is a 5inch barrel and a mag with pinky extension.

  • nutn, i dont think many people will be putting a tlr-3 on that rig dude

  • The trigger on these varies greatly. I own two of these, a C9 and a JCP40, and the trigger on the 40 is really creepy like you say; but the trigger on the 9 is really awesome, a bit heavy, but no pre-travel and no creep.

  • I almost bought one of these as my first handgun and was so happy that I went with a Glock instead. My buddy has the 40 cal hipoint and it is a piece of junk. He says he can only use one kind of ammo in it. The slide is ridiculously heavy and many times the recoil isnt enough to kick it all the way back. I definitely wouldn't bet my life on it.

  • @93foxwcubez You mean you'd be found dead if you used this pistol.

  • yet again, these are not pistols designed to be "field stripped" they should never need it. ever. just hose it out let it dry and its clean. seriously guys forget what you know about virtually every other handgun, its not the same.

  • Loving all of the Ron Paul ads that come up before your videos!

  • @dlstb Yeah! Ron Paul and 2015 Acura NSX ads!

  • @ShyRobot I haven't seen the NSX ads. But it sounds awesome so long as they put better than the 250 horse 6 cylinder that came in the first version.

  • @dlstb Me too, the ONLY ads I like!

  • @dlstb damn...for once I regret the adblocker I got

  • What was the parts replacement?

  • just its looks will keep me from buying it...id rather spend 150$ on 45acp and 22lr

  • My high point I bought off a friend. They are going for about $150 around here, with case and holster. He only had about 100 rounds through it when he sold it to me, since, I havent shot it a whole lot, but, about 250 rounds of FMJ cheap stuff from walmart through it, no problems, then, about 200 rounds of winchester 147GR JHP, brass cased, no problems. Not much of a test, but have also fired about 10 rounds of federal aluminum cased JHPs through it...for the price point, im happy so far.

  • damn.. i cant shoot hp 45 like that..lol. oh well guess more excuse to get out and shoot more..lol, that being said, i have other brand pistols and fir arms and still enjoy taking my anchor out and knocking a few rounds out of her. and strangly enough i like the feel of the extra weight on my hip when i go hunting or hiking.,,weird hu??

  • nutn you are the reason i have taken up this hobby ,after many years of leaveing the army and not fireing a weapon. you have made me understand the value and safety behind carrying and protecting my own i thank you.

  • Come on Nutn. Sharon Stone was at her hottest in Total Recall

  • great insight,good video....

  • I bought a hi-point just to look at a laugh with my friends, it looks like a mongoloid getting ass-raped by a giraffe smoking crystal meth. The very first time I loaded a mag and took a shot it stovepiped, I would never trust my life with such a piece of junk. Good thing Glock makes Glocks.

  • I've seen it all!!!!

  • This review had me laughing all the way through.

I'd forgotten your little sheet of bullet points, that's some classic stuff bro. I'm a huge fan of the C9, mostly because (as you said) it's dead accurate, and extremely affordable.

Not to mention, if the home invader is a shooter, I can just show him how ugly this little bastard is and he'll probably fall over laughing or just leave because he feels sorry for how broke I am.

It doubles as a heavy mace if you duct tape it to a broom stick!

  • What a great comparison to the movie!!!!!!

  • i had a hi point a few years ago got rid of it because of the jams i kept having i didn't even put 200 rounds thought it and i will be getting another one cause of all the good things i have heard about them and the price as well

  • Sir, another great review. I live in a rural environment and am looking for a "truck gun". The main concern is I have a gun that will put down a deer. Secondary and subsequent

concerns are is it reliable? And, if it gets stolen out of my truck am I out a lot of cash. I don't make a lot of money and trying to replace a fire arm will be a battle with the missus. She likes my old service Glock 17 with the trigi night sights on her side of the bed. I see her point.

  • i had the highpoint 9mm and if i loaded the clip fully it jammed chambering the first 3 cartriges everytime. i sold the gun before i even broke it in due to the fact of the jamming

  • Lol, here's your gun, good luck in the gun fight

  • I have the 45 highpoint and with over 1000 rds ran in it it never jamed on me.I call it my robo cop gun if it runs of of shells you can just beat the crap out of them with the highpoint

  • I bought a cf 380 its a piece of shit it failur to feed and like he said the shells don't st right don't know wht to do

  • daewoo make handguns? Gotta hand it to the south koreans lol. In the UK daewoo are just known as the makers of slightly dodgy cars.

  • I have the Hi Point .40 and love it. No trouble with it at all. it has the light/laser rail and I want to put a laser on it.

  • Finally a good fair review. Thank you. I like firearms but just keep my c9 for absolute emergency against other humans. I'm not a gun nut (prefer swords) but one needs something. I think that a lot of gun folk don't get that a lot of us just want the basic package. I just need C9's and low cost AK's. I live in an area where 200 yards is almost long sniping range, Lol. Thickets and mountains, 44 mag carbine does fine here for deer.

  • LOVED THAT MOVIE I WAS JUST THINK TO BUY IN BLUE RAY

  • you talked me into the quick and the dead, I remember not liking the trailer, watched it and-dude loved it-love your vids keep it up

  • just a point to make not sure on if its dangerous or not but my buddy showed me his hi point .40 when he jiggled it somewhat vigorously with the slide locked back it would spring forward after about 5-10 seconds I know you dont jiggle your gun but if you have it in the case in your truck for a long time... idk side note totally gonna buy one

  • Good review brother...I'm saving up for a glock but until then my broke ass might be purchasing one of these hi points...I've seen a lot of negative reviews but you sold me on it

  • Comment removed

  • unforgiven....oustanding movie.

  • I hear this gun does not like hollow points,it that true? What brand of ammo and grain are most people using and not having trouble with? Thanks for any replies.

  • @jammer1mo MY JCP does fine with them

  • free trigger lock with the gun +p rated 10 round mag when i bought the gun not 8 $130 after putting over 1000 rounds through it the paint on the sight sprang off and hit me in the forehead still havent got that fixed comes with a ghost ring as well good news ive had only 1 failure to feed turned out the bullet was messed up from the factory so not a fault on the gun no failure to fires and no other problems

  • im interested in a assaullt rifle but have the same problem with the funding you spoke of. the HI Point .45 Carbine looks AWSOME on the internet, but what about its quality?can you shed lite on that for me. 400 bucks fully loaded out rifle?sounds too good to be true. is it??

  • @scprepper55

Check on nutnfancy's page. Look under Trench warfare 995 or something like that. He tests the 9mm version. they are almost the same gun. He liked it a lot. I was told by a local gun shop owner that the .40 cal was the best balance of stopping power, penetration, and .40 is a lot cheaper than .45. Good balance overall.

  • i have the jhp 45 from hipoint. they are not the prettiest thing out there but i love that gun. i have shot over 2000 rounds through it and only had a few hang ups. well worth the money.

  • I have always heard nothing but bad things about Hi Point pistols...........I don't believe the rumors anymore haha........awesome review

  • Damn when you said that it was accurate I thought you were joking, but I looks like it can hold its own.

  • I would like a 9mm to shoot my cast reloads.... My Glock 17 is not suitable for this. Although I like the full-size grip, since I have XXL hands. Even the grip on 1911s is a tad small. I don't know if I could hold on to the C9 adequately. I would love a video showing stripping the pistol, and polishing the parts for a smoother operation. Perhaps lightening the trigger pull. I assume that on a pistol this inexpensive, that I would have to work on it a bit to get smooth operation.

  • i like that glock of yours sir

  • im downloading this movie now ... every thing you sed was dead on

  • The .40 S&W carbine and pistol use the same mags.

  • I trying to think of something positive to say about hi-point.. but I can't.

But like nutnfancy says in the description.. it could just save your life.

  • The Hi-Point C9 or the Smith & Wesson Sigma?

  • I cannot believe so many people criticize this video. Good info and an honest review on low-end budget firearm.

  • hey bro the lc9 is 7 rounds"

  • good trunk gun

  • Just wanted to mention another affordable and reliable and often overlooked pistol. Any of the Bersa Firearms lineup. I have a Thunder 380 and it has been FANTASTIC. Reliable, comfortable to shoot, etc. They have a model called the Thunder UC Pro availiable in 9mm,40cal,45 caliber . I usually see them in the mid $350 range. Nice features and reliable.

  • @kens97sto171 The Hi Point is as American as apple pie...and apple pie isn't the most expensive pie at the pastry shop...

  • @Commiefornia

Your right... It also tends to be the best tasting pie they have, and you can easily afford to dress it up with a side of ice cream because it was such a good value :)

  • @kens97sto171 Yeah, I wrote on millerusaf's review: gun snobs poo poo the Hi Point and then go eat a crapload of mystery meat at the nearest fast food joint. By the gun snobs' reasoning they should be eating fillet mignon 3 meals a day every day.

  • @deserthunter Its not commiefornia goddamit!!! Its the PRC Peoples Republic of California!!! Hehehe

  • @Grizzly907LA Trust me...it IS Commiefornia...

  • @Commiefornia Its the Peoples Republic of California, just like China is the Peoples Republic of China, though to be fair China has less regulations and restrictions for getting business's started. Commiefornia, The PRC. Same thing different names, though the leaders in China are not forcing girls to take the Gaurdasil shot.

  • Thanks the unbiased review nutn. Totall gun nub here. I want to get started with firearms. I don't have a lot of cash to blow. I am look for an entry level home defense/wrol option and I have to start somewhere. I am considering the hi-point. Thanks

  • Thank you for being fair to this handgun. I am in L&E, and have fired many handguns. (probably not as many as you). I am also a "Wilderness" archer. I needed a sidearm for protection from critters (4 legs & 2) I wanted the XP40, but funds just werent there. I talked with my armorer at work, and some friends, now I have the Hi-Point 40. I agree with pretty much everything. Although, I call my "The Tank". It cant be put any better. Heavy as hell, but still deadly in the hands of someone angry.
