  • I actually thought this was funny

  • 5D is better!

  • this is quite good!

  • @dandandandanDJ Thanks!

  • video proves that a $20,000 cant buy tallent.

  • Color is waay too green. Only in instances have I seen that green look pulled off well enough. And not that im a big law and order viewer, but I don't recall them having that overly green look either. Being a parody, I thought it should resemble it. And shows for broadcasting, aren't they shot at a 30fps not a 24fps cinematic look?

  • @circadiesproject it's more of a CSI/Law and Order/Generic crime drama ripoff. Most of them traditionally were shot on 16mm film or 35mm at 24fps.

  • Blink at 4:18...

  • @davcoolbeans well, she is alive

  • you guys get paid to do this or did you just rent it on your own money

  • @m420carbine4 We own the gear. We were just having fun.

  • Red ? Looks all yella to me

  • @philby68to73 HA!

  • Do not waste money on this camera, Canon 7d give you same quality with the right lens im glad that canon make affordable product for the film maker today at the red level, no need to spend 20,000 dollar on a camera specially in recession times.

  • @Visionhigher 7D's are pretty good and can do a lot of great thing. We shot on a full feature with 2 7D's a 5D a 1D and a RED and there are definitely good and bad things about the Canon DSLR's. THey are definitely crazy good for the price though.

  • Waste of money bro! canon 7D all the way

  • I agree

  • @gatler05 Clients generally don't like using still cameras with a lot of stuff hanging off them when they have the option of using something specifically designed for the purpose. The DSLR's are pretty amazing though.

  • I guess I'm not that surprised. Someone dumb enough to buy a 7d for video would say something like that. Not saying this vid is a trophy piece, but your 7d rig is a joke.

  • @dmac722 Your a fuckign pathetic piece of shit, get a fucking life. I hate you, dude your a broke ass bitch. You would not know anything about a canon 7D if you never owned one, look fagget saturday night live used a canon 7D.

  • @gatler05 HA! Another unintelligent remark from my favourite 7d owner. An SNL reference for cinematography? Really? You didn't mention you were also a comedian. I know a lot about the camera that's why I will NEVER own one! Sorry to chirp but you say something like "RED is a waste of money.. Should have got a 7d" and you make yourself look like a total rookie. You probably don't do much research nor know what to look for so I'll stop wasting energy on this. Happy hunting there fisher-price.

  • @dmac722 What the fuck dude, your just jealous and a hater. I mean the RED-ONE does have a upperhand in somethings, aye you know canon 7D shoots 1080 and the red one shoots 720. I dont know about the newer models though, umm yeah your broke ass wont ever own a decent camera. Just keep crying over the internet on how pathetic and stupid you are. Cause the reason I said waste of money, cause look he spent over 1 fucking grand to rent a camera for one day. He could have just bought a 7D

  • @gatler05 we own the camera so it didn't cost us a dime for the day. Also, it shoots over 6 times the resoluton of the 7D. Not that it matters too much on here but for feature films it can definitely be an advantage.

  • @BlareMedia :P true

  • @dmac722 Your so pathetic, you probably dont even have friends. All you do is complain about pointless shit online.

  • @dmac722 Movie industries, have been using canon 5D and 7D's for the past years now. You can do your research, before talking shit kid.

  • sooo clear

  • The girl did a goodjob at first I thought it was a "Real doll" one of those realistic looking human dolls here face looked fake but then she stood up lol

  • Comment removed

  • haha this is crazy. at 4:18 you can clearly see her blink :D

    this is funny

  • @NOTaPoser280 totally, but of course she was still alive. we just didn't know that yet.

  • @Uncooltshirtsdotcom geeze my bad, did i spoil it?

  • how much is it to rent?

  • $1250/day with technician. For more information please check out our website at redoneretnal(dot)net or blaremedia(dot)net

  • lol @ the constant puns

  • htis was really awesome! except for one thing. the number 1 smile on the guys face. it could have been tracked better in after effects. but i give you props on the comedy and the editing and the filter. Great job!

    ~Kodi Fletcher

  • @kodsaquadude yeah, tracking was done in Apple Motion and pretty weak. thanks for the compliments though.

  • @kodsaquadude i wish I would've done a much better job on the tracking. Pretty weak I agree.

  • i hate this job but love it.LMAO

  • This was very clever!

  • I love that Camera. I'm definitely buying one. How much was it? This is the Scarlet red one, correct?

  • Scarlets are not for sale yet. This is the RED One Camera. The scarlet will be different but better in some ways when it does come out but will be a lot different. For more information on the RED Camera please go to redonerental.ning(dot)com

  • @BlareMedia Oh, damn. When is the Scarlet coming out? Wasn't it supposed to come out the beginning of last year?

  • they've been saying that for years. but the scarlet is still going to cost 7,000$ for just the brain. the lenses, memory/hard drives, compatible software, and not to mention the additional computer power and memory will cost thousands and thousands more. also, the technology of red and how to use the files is an entire new language.

  • @DeezleProductions42 sooo..... THAT is the reason you don't like Red? Come ON! Yet with all those stupit excuses you say, Red is still a thousand times more convenient than professional film cameras.

  • @mizhoDA i love RED and as a whole its very convenient ...i was just saying that its not as simple as it looks...like not just any random person can get a RED and shoot a video. The scarlet will be cheaper and easier if they ever release it, but its much harder and costly than your regular HDV camera,

  • @DeezleProductions42 you got a point. But down to the simple/amateur thoughts, Red (one, scarlet, or epic) makes the footage look truly pro. I've never seen a regular HDV camera that equals the quality, dof, or anything else that makes today's tv series (dessperate housewives, 30 rock, csi, etc) what they are. No matter what HDV camera it is, it will allways look pretty amateur. Red, on the other hand, makes it look like film even it's not.

  • @mizhoDA I completely agree. but the fact of the matter is RED cameras are too much for the average amateur to handle. image quality and cost wise...the RED is far superior to anything else (besides film in my opinion). the fact that you can use prime 35mm lenses for amazing dof sets it apart from most cameras.

  • @DeezleProductions42 Exactly. Yet being way cheaper than 35mm film professional cameras, Red is still expensive for the average person. I, in fact, belive that Red products (except the camera body) are unnecessarily expensive. How come a 18 inches Drive cable can cost 200 dollars?

So I think Red is for wealthy amateurs, or pros that want to explore new fields on video recording.

  • @mizhoDA true dat. The body is more aggressively priced than the rest of the parts.

  • those things are waaaaaaaaaaaay to expensive. you might as well buy that damn thing. and it dont include accessorys, like wires, batterys.

  • @philgunman Say Waaaaaaaaaaay too expensive to Panavision and Arriflex cameras, which make you spend the amount of money you'd pay for the whole Red One with all its accesories for EACH movie you would shoot on film and film processing. Can't deny it, man, Red is expensive, but it's goddamn cheap seeing what it does, and how much makes you save ahead.

  • watch district 9, that was shot on red, most of it.

  • that was great

  • nice girl! hahaha, I like the color, by the way.

  • that's why I married her. the genre provided the color I just ripped it off. Thanks.

  • that was funny!

  • thanks!

  • Im mad about that carama. But this video was funny as hell

  • I don't get it. I mean the script is good but the this look I think I can achieve in post using color. are these guys not familiar with the red? I've seen other footage shot with the red and looks amazing but this is not too convincing..

  • There was no lighting whatsoever on an overcast day with a 1 light color correction in Apple Color. It was a comedy and we did the best we could with little time or resources.

  • oh I see. but congrats I like the comedy sketch...

  • Did you switch from 360p to 480p?

    Makes a huge difference.

  • All the puns were hilarious, great job. :D

  • nice quality. it does feel like a lot of money would have been put out for the rental considering the production. why did you decided to go for a red rather than a standard pro HD camera, at a much lower price?

  • there was no rental, we own the camera. We could've shot it with a pro HD camera and it still would've been just as funny I think.

  • oh really, that's awesome!

i thought you guys were just indie filmmakers, are you guys part of a company? what did you guys have to put up for the camera?

    red's are amazing

  • Thanks. For more information on the RED Camera please go to redonerental.ning(dot)com

  • Trajan Pro was a bad choice of font.

  • wasting your life away to the extent that you would know Trajan Pro after looking at it for a few seconds and then deciding to tell the world how you felt about that fact is obviously the result of some bad choices as well.

  • ...Or the result of in depth experience in the field of design for screen gathered through an exciting and prosperous career. Which ever it is, Trajan Pro was still a bad choice.

  • I am sure you have seen the law and order title page. this was the closest we could get. it wasn't an aesthetic choice in case you missed the joke.

  • Ah I see. Very sorry. I've never seen law and order. Found the video funny though. Sorry for mocking your choice of font. Trajan Pro is the most over used font in the industry. It used to look classy but now it's considered as bad as using comic sans. Just so you're aware.

  • gotcha, sorry for the seething reply. no harm done.

  • I did the color correction in Apple Color. I did a one light for the entire thing which means I did not change any of the shots specifically but put some curves on it and copied that effect to all of it. It was all shot with the RED 18-50 lens. Ultra Primes are awesome though and unless you need a faster lens they are hard to beat.

  • HI i WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KNOW HOW DID YO DO THE COLoR CORRECTION, IS NECESARY A LOT OF CORRECTION TO ACHIEVE optimum quality? what optic did you use ...Ultraprime? Regards

  • how much did you pay for the rental ? and what did you use for the color correction ? Nice movie by the way !

  • we own the camera so it was all completely free. I used Apple Color. There is only one lens and it is the RED 18-50.

  • lol!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the quality of this camera is really impressive. But heck, the body of it is over 17Grand, and the lens set is like two grand more than that .... but considering the high cost of film and processing, this is a bargain. And it can be rented fairly cheaply with an operator! Good job, Blare.

  • thanks for the comments.

  • really funny i wish i had this camera

  • good

  • that was good great Q

  • how she dead and in 4:17 she blinking her eyes and shit

  • yeah, she blinks a lot. but then again she's not dead either.

  • Haha, this was great! Nice filming.

  • Totally cornball but I loved it.

  • Man i havn't laughed this hard in a good little while . thanks 5 starred .

  • omg im about to die laughing better call these guys! That is FUNNY. everything was "in their face" XD

  • this is actually damn funny

  • lol, you pull up in a honda van and add cop car sounds in the beginning.

  • just tryin to set the mood baby...

  • :D i love it.

  • LOL this is hilarious. good job you guys

  • ROFL this is amaaazing!

  • Thanks a lot for the reviews guys.

  • ;-)

  • I just love this

  • Out of all your puns..this one takes the cake.....great stuff!!

  • Hahaha very fresh guys, I loved it!!

  • hahahahaha

    "thats not a good sign"

    nice puns

  • yeah that was funny :D good job guys

  • thank you.

  • if you're looking for a good demonstration of the red one's abilities, don't watch this. if, on the other hand, you're looking to be amused for a few minutes, then by all means click play. the spoof is technically unimpressive but the puns are clever enough and come often enough that they will probably make you smile. whoever wrote it, nice writing job.

on an entirely tangential note, the 'homicide' guy sounds just like Matt Damon when he says "You got this? Is that right?"

  • yeah, it's not particularly cinematic, but it tells the story we wanted to and I personally like the one-pass coloring a lot. but I did it.

yeah, we tell the actor Max Taylor that he sounds like Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg

  • it was easier to shoot it on the RED - we didn't have to worry about the highlights blowing out and the manual focus and iris are easier to use and the camera is much easier to handhold without having the micro shakes.

I agree that funny is funny but I also think it came out looking a lot like one of those shows which helps the jokes seem genuine rather then just a bunch of guys screwing around.

  • haha not bad and yes lots of puns I gove you 5 stars ;)

  • thanks dude
