  • Only go on code3 for this councilman if you are sure he is a code 7

  • That's what happens when you allow a bunch of tree hugging hippies run a city....and those retards who oppose to the cops running code 3 need to answer one question..is 3 am and someone in breaking into your house..code 3?..or 2?

  • So basically the one unit going code 3 gets on scene faster, and is by himself, waiting for his backup to respond, since they are going code 2. That's poor officer safety.

  • reporter wth monster headlights + no wedding ring ?

  • thats a lie all or most of the cops would all come with lights and sirens nd fast as$ hell

  • So if an officer is being shot at, only one other officer can respond code 3?

    Lol???

  • stupid laws. tooo many laws.

  • With my department we have to advise a supervisor we are responding code 3 via radio but as long as sergeant doesn't say no, we can all go code 3.

  • WHAT?!

  • With all due respect councilman... You should think before you speak. What came out of your mouth in that statement was uneducated and just plain dumb. It isn't the officer's fault they were involved in a collision while responding 2.5.... It is due to a flawed rule in a flawed system.

  • @JordanGray48393 Why don't you blame the black and Hispanic criminals that they have to respond to instead of bitching about cops.

  • @Trendwin Who's bitching? I was making a statement. I was not bitching about the cops..

  • Comment removed

  • @JordanGray48393 Yeah I accidentally responded to the wrong person lmao.

  • @Trendwin Smooth move Exlax LOL

  • @JordanGray48393 Totally agree...It made no sence...I've never even heard in 2 years of being a police officer, 25 years of my father in law enforcement have I ever heard of "code two and a half." However, in my department I have to call out I am responding code 3 and a sergeant needs to be advised.

  • @JordanGray48393 Totally agree...It made no sensee...I've never even heard in 2 years of being a police officer, 25 years of my father in law enforcement have I ever heard of "code two and a half." However, in my department I have to call out I am responding code 3 and a sergeant needs to be advised.

  • what does code 3 mean

  • @fight341 Lights & sirens.

  • I hate that stupid ass 8th district councilman for disagreeing with the change in the code 3 policy. I bet if he was in trouble and the cops didn't get there in time he would change his mind

  • this reporter has nice boobs!! she's really cute! actually its called code 2 high, between 2 and 3 is high, speed up the response with limited siren use which is the most typical response level in LAPD, most of anything you'll hear on LAPD's radio is a code 2 high call.

  • LAPD might as well have Toyota Prius cop cars!

  • @mpwelk well atleast modern crown vics are hybrids, you cant beat a better car then the crown vic for a cop car, it allows great room for 2 officers and computers and criminals.

  • The fact that that was a law in the first place is ridiculous. Seconds count when responding to a hot call. Nobody is going to want to wait for the previous officer to get off the radio so that they can tell dispatch they're about to haul ass. Say a domestic call comes over the air. The idea that only one officer can go code 3 means that their backup is going to be however far behind them in traffic because they couldn't respond as needed. That's a safety issue.

  • This is not a city council issue.

  • This is reatarded

  • yeah same here people complained that police make too much noise and tried to change policy but failed...they were denied

  • I love how the main argument is that the citizens THINK the officer just doesn't want to wait at the light when in reality the officer is running code 2 to avoid accidents and only using the lights and siren when needed. Who gives a rats ass what the citizens think... get a life, it's their job.

  • @medicman175 I know, I get that shit all the time where I live. I hate it when citizens with no LE experience or affiliation bash police and police procedures.

  • im with the last 2 comments this is pure fuckin stupid at that rate by the time the second cop got on scene the first one could be dead and the criminal gone

  • By having police uniforms without the

department patches is easy for the public

    to impersonate officers. Lawsuits are

    likely.

  • Interesting that LAPD has no uniform

    patches, lol !!! Cheapies...

  • 30,000+ police officers in New York City and they have patches but I wonder how much it would cost to have a pair on each uniform for LAPD since NYPD has all their uniforms patched up and I mean NYPD is big.

  • It is amazing how the opinion of the citizens plays out here...most people see us flying on the road trying to get there as fast as possible...let's say a lady is in her bedroom and she heard someone breaking in..she calls 911...we go as fast as we can get there...some people look at us a say.." I guess the doughnuts are getting cold...and upon arrival the lady will complaint..."why took you so long?"...my point?..well I guess your opinion depends on whether you need us...or not

  • That councilman is a fucking idiot. I bet if it was his house/emergency he would want the whole damned force coming code 3.Thats why you should NEVER have councilidiots involved in policy making.Code 3 is just as much a tool as an officer's pen or sidearm. Damned right they should be able to use it at theyre own discretion.

  • whats funny is that councilman was the chief of police for the lapd and everyone always said he fucking sucked being the chief so i guess he is still trying to fuck them over

  • When the council is involved.. the police department will know its the end of the world. Not every top department official wants the change but you cant argue with it but as you said, if the idiots house is being broken into, he might call central and say get me the whole squad here NOW!! then the chief rains down and ask why did you call respond code 3???? time for a policy review, change it back to the old way. We all roll code 3 no matter what.

  • @Overstated1

x2. The councilman was obviously never a cop. When you hear an officer scream over the radio, "Code 3 back, He;s fighting with me....Every car in that city is going Code 3 and no they don't need to tell dispatch they are going Code 3. Its a waste of precious airtime, when dispatch needs to verify the officer's location, circumstances, etc....

  • @Overstated1 that councilman has a problem with it because he was probably the one that put the current policy into effect when he was the los angeles police chief from 97-02 and he still thinks he is right lol but i agree the officers should be able to use code 3 at there discretion

  • @Overstated1 I totally agree, what a fucking idiot

  • you could tell that cop in the beginning is tired of dumbasses who cry about police officers abusing their lights and sirens.

  • thats dumb b/c they should be able to do what ever the fuck they want as long as its safe in chesterfield va the police can go code 3 if need no such thing as cose 2 / half sgt brian martin

  • Councilman is a retard. 8-2 Good

  • that councilman should go and fuck himself... with his bullshit argument.

"comply with what law".. fuck head...

they are responding to deal with who knows what kind of fucked situation and they have to stop at a red light... what kind of emergency response would that be...

  • i agree with you, if the first officer gets there and some guy shoots the offcer with a gun (and i know for a fact that officers do not know wats gunna HAPPEn at the call they are going to) and he dies cus he didnt have back up cus there is a traffic jam or watever?

  • that's how it always should be. going code 3 at a moment's notice in an emergency for any officer responding.

  • 11 million for 3 accidents

  • Unless there are two officers in one car, the rule of only one car responding to a call code three "Which is usually a priority call" is just stupid!

What happens if its involving needed back up for a wounded officer? Send one car when he needs as much help as possible?!

This is why I love Tucson, Officers here get the help they need and fast!

  • thats LA wat if they got shot by a gang member with an Ak or some high powered machine gun? and the other officers are stuck in a traffic jam or something

  • That's the point I was trying to make.

  • I cant stand Parks. you would think that b/c he was a former officer that he would know the benefit of having more officers responding code 3. im glad they changed it.

  • They're changing a rule to benefit society, not just a few officers.
