@waynebrasler It really is a great album. They really made a good combination. One of my favorites. My mom had 2 Day albums - this one and Show Time. I listened to them constantly as a kid. Both great albums.

Funny,when you're a little kid,you have females like Doris Day,and Sandra Dee as your foundation for the perfect girl friend,lol. She really was a very talented Jazz singer besides the usual ballad,torch love songs she's known for.

@blueyes2631 You can't believe those stupid tabloids. They've had ready for a nursing home for awhile. She isn't. She sounded wonderful on her call in to the birthday broadcast. She said she was very busy - had a lot to do this year. One dj said her DDAL is building a horse ranch in Texas for the wild horses that the US govt likes to get rid of.

@blueyes2631 I know .. my son thinks I'm nuts ! But -- he was really impressed by the letter she sent me - after I sent her some of my video's. I was born in the 50's so I grew up watching a lot of 30's, 40's and 50's movies ... which I am still addicted to ! haha ! I do have all of Doris' movies - we've been watching them in order. Which is really fun ! These kids just don't know what they're missing !!

Thanks....that's a nice song. Never heard it before but liked it very much. Doris was cuter in her forties than she was when she was thirty. How many people can do that? Not many.

This is a great album - Andre Previn is amazing. Doris certainly aged nicely ... no doubt about that !! To me - her best look was around 1956-57-58. At any age .. she was beautiful - maybe its whats inside !

I'm a really big daydreamer as i have already said. love it, Unfortunatly i only have boxset 1 and i've had that for a couple of yrs now, of course it wasn't shown on tv when i was younger, I can't afford to buy the rest of them-maybe 1 day I feel quite silly and embarrased about it because i've been a fan of doris all my life ! I have seen lots of photos of it though and things. I really liked her style in the late 60s - early 70s

luckily i do have them .. they were my christmas - birthday - mothers day gifts until i got all of them. thats the way i collected a lot of her music too. at least my husband and son always knew what to buy me !! lol doris always looked good !!

yes she did , some hairstyles better than others and she always wore beautiful clothes. I don;t think the doris look alike that won in 66 looked like her - nobody could but i would have to say my auntie alice whom i never met looked more like her than the person that won the contest, also my auntie also looked a tiny bit to elizabeth montgomery too and often gets referred to looking like her !!!

This is from the album "Duet" with the Andre Previn Trio. Here Doris Day shows how volatile she is, here as a Jazz singer. Andre is of course one of the best accompanists. He wrote this song, as also "Yes" and "Control yourself". The best three songs on this album, along with "Close your eyes".

A pity you do not hear this top music at all on the radio.

yes, wyatt, i'm toni's lucky husband. and she is very lovely. toni just said doris day recorded at least 600 songs, starting in 1940 with big bands ~ bob crosby, les brown and others ~ and recorded with columbia records until 1968!! who knew?? well, i guess dayniac did!! LOL
