  • holy ballss he is so attractive

  • WHAT DID HE SAID ABOUT PLAYING IN MEXICO!

  • He is amazing, and I like his concern. Those people are dumb, he's misunderstood

  • Man i feel bad for Mayer here, he feels very strongly about this, and it seems to me that no one really cares.

  • LLOVE the Vodka publicity "Absolut" in the background, it TOTALLY applies

  • At the end... .John is asking a question. and that guy just says IM A BIG FAN. wtf

  • i feel so sad for john. he seems to be misunderstood most of the time because he' so deep and highly intellegent. he wanted for people to be genuinely interested in what he had to say but instead he was treated just like another celebrity sighting..he seems to be pretty lonely too. and he also almost always wears black..i would't be surprised if he's feeling miserable inside

  • poor guy, sometimes he has the wrong audience i guess

  • what is this? is it just an interview or is it about something?

  • ahahaha awkward silence rocks!

  • i think the guy at the end made john realize how most people werent concerned and were only there to see John Mayer in person

  • john took the high road and walked off.

  • im a big fan!

  • haha

  • "this silverware is just fine" haha.

at 3:40--"when will you play in Mexico??" haha

  • the dude at the end made himself look like a dumbass

  • guys that Asif mandvi from the daily show , it came on the daily show about a year ago !!!!!

  • but the "cynics" are prevailing. the environment continues to be polluted, landfills are growing, millions of hectares of trees a year are being cut down. the governments should be doing something about it, but the corporations who make profit out of destroying the environment won't let it happen.

  • I agree. I would disagree with one point - there is nothing environmentally unfriendly about landfills. Hampton Roads has what, five or six Landfill Parks? The construction of landfills has come a long way in the last 30 years, now when there's seepage it comes out cleaner than water out of a Brita filter. Landfills are ZERO percent of the problem. Put your garbage in, cover it up, and you have a park - which skyrockets market value of nearby property.

  • But covering it up doesn't make it go away.

  • "im a big fan"~ smartest question posed.

  • Everyone's thumbs downing you but I agree, I'm not gonna spend time campaigning for the environment but if other people want to more power to them.

  • dont worry bro, im thumbs upping you

  • haha, awesome. I wasn't even aware I was so hated, what's so offensive about that?

  • /gree

  • I'm glad John Mayer can stay relevant when explaining things like this. He's an incredibly intelligent guy who uses great rhetoric.

Not a bad guitar player, either - maybe the best of our generation.

  • You are absolutely correct :) Exactly my thoughts!

  • I think the dude is a brilliant artist, esp guitarist but I agree, hard to sell the whole climate thing when he cruises around in a v12 mercedes.

  • except for: he hasnt bought a new car in 4 years and all his tour busses use biofuel, an ultimate cut at his bottom line

  • Just because his car has more cylinders doesn't mean it creates more exhaust gases. with a car like that More power means you can drive at a lower RPM creating less polution that a alot of 4 cylinder cars that are running at a much faster rate.

  • im not really bothered by the environment but that comment is relatively groundless. just because the car has more cylinders doesnt mean it can run at constant lower revs...i think youll find a 4/8/10/12 cylinder car will do 60 kph or so at a simmilar engine speed. just need to look at consumption to realise this.

  • yes but your leaving it way to open to variations, sure they'll drive at the same engine speed at the same driving speed in different gears

  • Yeah. Elvis ws 1 generation, the beatles anuva n mayer is ours...

  • @pjmike84 Maybe? haha John is definitely one of the best ever. Theres absolutely no maybe about it.He's the best musician alive if you think about it.He plays every instrument and almost every genre of music and mixes genres together creating his own sound. He composes all of his music ..and he's a brilliant songwriter..His voice is getting 100% better every year. When he finally shows the whole reveal there will be no question that he is one of the best musicians ever.Johns a fucking genius.

  • haha he fucking rips that first guy

  • yeah

why not try to cut down our resources used.

You can say we dont NEED to, but hey it might help with our environment.

  • hes the shit

  • yea i totally agree he has such a great way with words

not only in his music but in his public speaches and everything else

  • John Mayer is a social genius.

    He's a magician with words.

He's almost perfectly balanced while playing guitar, singing, talking, joking & arguing.

Good person, he deserves way more respect and appreciation than he currently gets.

Keep up the good work JM.

    You are a true inspiration.

  • john kinda shut that guy down in the end...

  • That was Asif Mandvi from Daily Show...

  • oh is he like an ass hole or something? Asif Mandvi?

  • anyone from the Daily Show is an asshole to who they are interviewing

  • oh well then good thing john was mean to him!!

  • lol but its funny thats the point...

  • oh lol 4 weeks late. [insert sarcasm here]

  • What was yelled from the crowd at 1:26??

  • lmdb1990 is 100% correct. But, on the contrary I believe that JOn and that man had a mutual understanding in the end... Jon knows aswel as that journalist that he has an overpowering effect on persuading masses into enjoying simple music. If Jon had to work to gain attention of the people... he would do so.. hes a guitar god, watch the 2005+ crossroad blues festival. Why else would an amazing guitar player/ song writer settle for such pop rubbish... he makes money off your absent mindedness.

  • The fact that John Mayer is more articulate and capable with words and ideas than the 'professional' journalists says something. Well, it gives you some idea why most music journalism sucks. I've worked on college papers with these clowns; half of them can't string together a sentence without using cliche as glue.

  • JOhn's right people today really would rather listen to the message rather than read it

  • he knows what's up

    put his skills aside

his mentality is what makes him cool

  • I don't think that was a fan... the man was trying to belittle him by saying he was a fan of his music, and therefore not listening to what he had to say. asshole..

  • God he actually had a fan there. Came as a bit of a shock to him.

  • The more I learn about John Mayer, the more I like him. He's got a great sense of humor but doesn't put up with a lot of needless crap. Great guitar skills too. Totally amazing.

  • Well spoken... he is sooo cute ... I love him!!!

  • i loved his analogies. what a guy.

that last "question" must have been so awkward for him. tehe

  • he made all of those people look like idiots i love it

  • John Mayer turns every situation around.

He is way more intelligent than the reporters, the newspeople, the cynics.

  • Dude I saw this clip on the Daily Show... that's one of their correspondant people. Haha.

  • That last question/ comment was too funny

  • that's funny

    :D

  • lmao i saw that on the daily show before i saw this. "im a big fan"

  • hahahahahaha that guy at the end! awesomeness. i need new silverware.

  • global warming i think its just the climate getting warmer and man kind only contributed very little

  • I know there have been ice ages and shifts in climates all throughout geological history, but theres never been the damage that we humans have done to the earth through our waste and pollution, and whether or not we have caused THIS global warming, we sure as hell caused a lot of waste in the ground, in our water, in the air - and that's something we can all admit is a problem that exists, and one that is easily, through just a little effort, solved

  • global warming thats the stupidest shit i've ever heard

  • SILVERWARE

  • ok, go live somewhere else besides earth

  • Amen.

  • The Daily Show Rules!

  • I could listen to that man read a grocery list...hahaha...god i love his voice!

  • amen

  • GOD ME TOO VERY SMOOTH MASCULINE...

  • omg funi funi when tht guy goes 'I'm a big fan' aww and well sed John !!!! With evrything u rok...(even tho technically u cnt hear me and i am talking to myspelf :-S)

  • ahhhh i hate people who come on here and put comments that say "WHOSE JOHN MAYER??"

anyways...johns a really smart guy and i love him!!

  • He is a very smart guy!

  • well sed

  • first of all i agree, i don't believe that advertiizing your shittey band on a john mayer video is productive, but i do believe that he is one of the most talented musican of our time.

  • ok sorry but i just have to say real quick the dude who keeps posting comments ab his band "orzacks road" on every fuckin john mayer video needs to stop...john's videos are not an outlet for you to get people to listen to shitty live recordings of your bamd...so please stop

  • i think john tries but his silverware analogy was ironically exactly what we should try not to do in terms of being excessive.

  • Who is John Mayer?

  • LOL - "I'm a big fan".... I acutally laughed out loud at that part...that was so funny. John is awesome! Great songwriter and an all around awesome guy! Way to go John!!!!

  • Ahaha, that was Aasif Mandvi from the Daily Show at the end. They aired just that clip yesterday. LOL that was hilarious.

    And John's a legend too.

  • John didn't have to be there, he didn't have to speak out, but he did. People need to change. At least he is trying to make a difference. I like John because he is an unbelievable musician. But I also like John because he is honest and he is not perfect.

  • He's an intellectual-blues-jessica simpson gettin machine let em be guys.

I love how he just stumped the press- when that guy gets up there and just says, "I'm a big fan" lol i love this guy :D

  • omg lol a "jessica simpson gettin machine"

  • Man, I don't get you guys. I thought he articulated his points very clearly. Yeah, he is a celebrity. But at least he has substance and the intelligence to get that across. The only thing I didn't like was the awkwardness at the end... lol

  • George Harrison got sued in the 70's for 'unknowingly copying the Chiffons "He's So Fine" with "My Sweet Lord", total rubbish!just caus songs have a vague resemblance in melody, chord progression doesn't mean artists are stealing or cheating, similarities are inevitable

  • hey buzzbang you're wrong. JM is one of the most original and talented songwriters/guitarists of our generation. I'm sick of purists knocking modern artists, assuming that they lack the same degree of artistic merit. I'm a big Hendrix and SRV fan and JM's covers of their songs have been respectable and talented tributes, he finally committed one to record with bold as love and his rendition is awesome.

  • Hey all - I don't mind you debating the artistic and ecological merits of John Mayer (or Dave Matthews, or whomever), but--as I have just done--I'll remove your comments if you write personal or disparaging insults about each other.

  • mprospero99 is a big fat loser.

  • mprospero99 is a big fat fatty.

  • you guys over there talking about him stealing stuff and that he's a dumb artist, you are retarded. Music is about taking what you've heard and putting it together. How else do you know what to play if you haven't heard any kind of music what so ever? I bet you cover songs all the time. It's a matter of experimentation and you can't insult him for that when all musicians do that in the first place. Your ignorance is just as strong as your weakness in argument.

  • dave matthews is a birch who chucks his tour bus load of shit out the door every ttime they roll, he's so overated

  • Maybe the crooked corporate media can reveal what scientist, engineers and ethicists think about global warming and other environment issues. The entertainers are free to entertain but why dumb down the public by asking pampered celebrities their opinions. It's ridiculous.

  • Ouch! Man, he's obviously tired and not into social speaking at this time. WOW. lol LOVE john mayer, but talk about "My Stupid Mouth" here! lol Reminds me of me - rambling on and on and on and on and on and on and. . .

  • bull, you are in denial dude. Maybe you shguld ask Curtis Mayfield's son (Kirk) if he stole it. John not only ripped off "We're a Winner" but he took parts from "People Get Ready" and used solo parts from SRV's "Tick Tock People". Dont worry the fraud John Mayer will be exposed soon! HE IS A FRAUD!

  • he is the man..the tune sounds a bit like were a winner, ill admit that..but thats not stealing..be honest you cant really call that stealing..he didnt even copy lyrics or guitar parts..he made it more unique.

  • he used solo parts from SRV? look at have you ever loved a woman and 3 o'clock blues...GASP...bb king stole from clapton!!!!! get real. or MAYBE SRV stole from hendrix when he covered voodoo child, and there must be a conspiracy around little wing.??? crossroads and pride and joy are very similar so clapton stole from jj cale who USED parts from robert johnson and SRV used parts from them all, right???? get a clue

  • You realize SRV is Mayer's idol? It's called paying tribute.

  • He's a smart guy!

  • rriiiiigghhhtttt......

  • tell Curtis Mayfield's family that!!! They are in litigation to sue the piss out of him. I know what covers are dipshit, even though he destroyed hendrix's Axis:Bold as loVE (AWFUL) I am talking about him steeling "People Get Ready" and "We're A Winner" from Mayfield. And stealing lyrics from Radio head. And not to mention stealing Police's Every Breath you take for another song and lets not forgot all the Dave Matthews stuff he stole on the first album. The guy's a hack!

  • You don't know what you're talking about.

    o__o

  • He doesnt drink bottled water...(shrugs)...Besides he said that he was "waiting" on the world to change...He knows what it do...

The raped his bog..I feel a counterclaim...Question his authority? Maybe you shouldnt...youthgroup&potluck

  • you can't have both a supercharger and a "twin turbo" on a the same motor.

  • John mayer not only steals songs, but he is a huge hypocrite. He drives a super charged Porsche Cayenne twin turbo SUV that gets 8 mpg city. He has NO F8CKING business telling anyone else how to live. I hate people like this.

  • I thought he gets all mad and throws a F BOMB?

  • LOVEIT!

  • Where's the good part?

  • johns the man

  • I commented to someone how much I missed Clapton and Jackson Browne. Browne especially has been a great voice for change. It is reassuring that the next gen has grabbed the baton and running with it. It is also extemely important to engage everyone in this dialogue. Read JM's smt on his blog, johnmayer dot com

  • go john.

  • i love john and this was a great concert for a great cause!
