  • How much flight time with that battery setup? Lovely build!

  • @gordonputfile I've got my timer set for 7 1/2 minutes. That generally requires putting back between 2700 and 3000 mAh into my 5000 packs. Probably could stretch it out another minute or so without problems, but that always feels like a good time to land. Flights end up being about 8 minutes.

  • @jwjohnson909 great, thanks for the reply. The plane is quite heavy think you could get 2.5x flight time with 3x the batteries?

  • I'd love to buy this plane but they will not ship it to the uk .pity ,it a great looking plane .well flewn ,have fun-love the video.

  • @flyinglarry1

The shipping would really raise the cost to the uk. Mine came on a pallet with several empty cartons around it to protect it.

  • Which 100a ESC are you using to handle the 10s lipos?

  • @bicyclemonkey

I'm using the Turnigy Sentilon HV 100A ESC. It's good up to 12s.

  • @Mark. Canon 7D

  • Excellent! Where is this flying field? Absolutely gorgeous!

  • @scalefreak It at a sod farm in Orem, Utah that our club has permission to fly at on Saturdays.

  • @jwjohnson909 What did you record this with ?

  • congratulations on a fantastic plane.!

    Outstanding!

Just looks so happy in flight!

Love the details and colour scheme on this plane,

    and what a beautiful day!!

    just fab...

  • @venya001 Thanks.

  • The prop is an APC 21x13W e series prop. I've yet to come close to using up a battery pack. I'm probably flying 10 minutes and only using about half the juice.

  • Wow, what an awesome looking aircraft, especially against the mountains right before landing. Excellent !!!!!!!

  • This model WACO, pronounced wacko and not like the place in Texas, has been one of my favorite planes since I first saw it on the cover of Model Builder back in the 1970's. It looks like Pilot 1 has done a great job of engineering to get the plane to fly realistically and Jeff does a good job too.

  • @Eugensdiet

I had recently learned the correct pronunciation of Waco, but I've been saying it the wrong way for so long it just popped out. :)

  • @Eugensdiet WACO is pronounced like taco.

  • Thanks for including the setup information, nice flier.

  • For those not familiar with the area we are at roughly 4500 ft altitude here.

  • @jwjohnson909 What a picturesque flying site !

You are truly flying in "God's country".

  • @71259mark

Thanks. We think we are pretty fortunate.

  • Thanks guys. I flew for roughly 7 minutes and 40 seconds according to the videos. When I charged my packs I put 3000mAh back into each of them. So I would say an 8 minute flight should still give plenty of reserve. I'm using an APC 21x13 Wide Electric prop.

  • I have a similar sized bipe I will be working on soon. What size prop were you using? And how much flight time did you wind up with out of the 10S 5000mah configuration?

  • awsome plane....

  • I love this plane. I live in the town where the real ones were built. Anytime I see a plane built by the Weaver Aircraft Company (WACO), I always have to stop and take notice.

  • Wow, Beautiful airplane, simply incredible flying experience. The perfect combination to really make me homesick!!!--Weber County Native.

  • Beautiful aircraft!! An orange/silver plane with the backset of mountains was beautiful :) Thank you for sharing the video.

  • Gotta love those Utah mountains! Nice aircraft and nice flight. Bring it to the UVA open house on the 5th!

  • I too was surprised it was electric on first glance. Beautiful and polished....a winner indeed.

  • Very nice. I was amazed to see this was electric. Big beautiful plane.

  • Thanks guys. Only problems I see so far is I need to fix the squeaking wheels without attracting too much dirt, and I need to find a new source of royalty free background music. :)

  • I dont think I have to tell you how pretty that bird is. Pretty sure you already know...but I cant help it. WOW. Beautiful. Nice job Jeff.

  • Beautiful plane man!!!

  • Jeff, Great looking maiden flight. Hope to see it in person one of these days.

  • Haha, the music is hilarious. Nice bird! Very scale flying. Congrats on a great maiden!
