  • Very minimalistic. Like a "chopper" (as in motorcycles, similar concept).

  • smokin barrel

  • i wish it didnt move so fast lol

  • after installing this on your sabre m5, were you able to put the samson m-ex rail back on in without modifying it?

  • @gentzacr

The extended rail won't work. For the midlength, you will want to use the 9" M version.

    Thanks,

    Robert

  • I'd like a ultra high speed camera to show piston advocates how that barrel whips around due to the piston. It would be even worse in a long stroke system.

  • @jebustheone i have an adams arms piston ar and i shoot 2 inch groups all day even standing. My barrel is on tight. It might bend on cheap chinese aks. If your barrel bends you need a new barrel. The piston is never connected to the barrel. It flies freely between the gas block and the carrier. The force of the return is only as strong as the bushing spring and the buffer spring pushing the carrier back in.

  • @marktse 2 inch groups at what range? 25 yards? 50 Yards?

Piston systems are by definition non free float. They are always less accurate than an equivalent DI system.

This is not my opinion this is fact. There simply is no argument.

If your rifle shoots 2 moa groups all day long with a piston, you will get better groups in that same rifle (all others being equal) with DI.

Then there is the increased recoil and muzzle rise which is substantial, a major disadvantage to piston designs.

  • @jebustheone yes i meant 100yds. I don't have any recoil on my gun. I have a surefire compensator on it. I couldn't bumpfire on it anymore the recoil is so low. First off the muzzle rise will not effect accuracy nor recoil. The adams arms piston is pencil thin drive rod. Its totally different from the ak hammer rod. What your talking about is ar barrel harmonics. All barrels vibrate. The theory is that DI will vibrate more consistently. Rifle harmonics is not the same as your barrel bending.

  • honestly just get heavy barrel at that point because m4 profile by nature has fucked up harmonics compared to a bull or heavy barrel. That would help more then the gas system. The m14 is a piston driver and my boss's heavy barrel will shoot .4 moa so he says. Will an armalite SASS, sr-25, dpms 308 beat that? maybe maybe not. My ar-10 is DI and its has a krieger barrel it shoots 3/4th moa.

  • @jebustheone - how is a piston system not free float by definition? that makes no sense whatsoever. And how does a DI rifle differ from that in any way?

  • That noise after the shot is crazy

  • so that's what it looks like underneath the heatshield?

  • @douglashaynes Thats a piston operated ar. On a standard ar its just the gas tube, there is no spring, piston, etc.

  • or what?

  • wtf is that asshole talking about?

  • hell if i know he is retarted

  • what is your problem???

  • How is the Saber barrel? I am planing on doing an AR build and I hear that saber makes the best barrels.

  • I would go with an A.C.M.E. barrel. They are tough as nails...

  • From what i hear so are Sabre barrels which is why they are one of the main suppliers to the US military.

  • Colt uses Sabre barrels?
