This is a lovely version, thanks. Too bad about the audio, and funny that he accidentally muffs the most beautiful line he ever wrote ("The most remarkable thing about you standing in the doorway..."). I don't care. He can do that if he wants. I'd give the man a kidney.
youtube.com/watch?v=zW69F2yvF2Y someone fixed the audio. (this is in the video description, btw. mine gets a lot more hits for some reason, so i leave it up to redirect people!)
Hey, thanks. Sure didn't mean to be critical or anything. It's good stuff.
It's funny. You can spend an hour on YouTube looking at different clips of "Going to Georgia." Rightly so, I guess. But I just want ONE good one of "Downtown Seoul." And there's only one halfway decent clip of "Old College Try," damn it. I want more. With the internet, we can never be satisfied.
Just found out about this song yesturday. I've been listening to alot of folkpunk and acoustic punk lately on Pandora. When this song came on I almost pushed the dislike button when I heard his voice but I didn't because of his words and the driving emotional feel of the song. Half way thru I was singing along and all day today I've been looking for more info about Th mountain Goats and all their music.
Yeah sorry about the audio. I saved it from a stream, and somewhere along the way to, well, here, it got screwed up. I guess I can't post links in comments, but I just updated the video description with a link to the non-screwed up original show at NPR's site.

After I listened to this, I felt really small. I have no passion. I thought the syn problem was so probablimatic.

Check out this live version of No Children. Great lyrics and lots of emotional energy.

@archy2frank2 Sorry we can't all sing like John Mayer. i.e- on Quaaludes.

@EntropicMisanthropic Haha John Mayer? Funny. Not my cup of tea, also he sings like he's high and has a secret he wants to whisper in your ear.

Best version of this song posted so far :)
Bummer about the audio being off though.
But still a very good and clean sound in comparison to the other videos... gotta love this man!
