As much as I love "Summer Wine," perhaps it's best that they stop now. Peter Sallis' health isn't the best, and isn't he the last of the original trio?
Besides, the show really hasn't been the same since Bill Owen died, but they've lost so many others as well: Thora Hird, the guy who played Foggy (?), Gordon Wharmby, and now Kathy Staff...

exactly, none of them are spring chickens any more, they should all retire (except the younger cast) and enjoy the time left :)
and i miss the oldies like thora and kath and compo etc they made the show more brilliant =D

It was in 1994 i think, when she was in panto, I was a big summer wine fan and my dad managed to speak to the president of the Summer Wine Fan Club to arrange for me to meet her

she didnt look ill in the slightest in the last series, she was one of foundations of the show, hopefully roy clarke will write it in the show that she'd join compo in heaven!
