Ok people. Comparing Amnesia to the Silent Hill series is fine. It really is. Saying which one of which is scarier in an objective manner is wrong. What disturbs your mind depends on... your mind. Invisible monsters swimming in water and chasing me through a wonderfully ambient atmosphere was hellishly freaky, yes. Still, Hell coming to life through witchcraft and wittnessing the psychotic breakdowns of people is scarier to me. It's something about how subtle and natural SH makes it look.

@TheCota65 it starts with the mirror room being covered in blood and both heathers being unhurt, but then the blood from the mirror room going into the sink and comes out of the sink in the real room, while this happens the mirror heather gets cut up and starts to bleed from everywhere, then the cuts from mirror heather fade and kill the real one.

Ok, the symbolism of this room is that if you notice, the blood comes from in between Heather's legs first (symbolising birth), and then if you notice, the reflection looks a lot like the memory of Alessa (birth of God), so this room very much symbolises Heather birthing God. I believe. Lol.

This room can pwn you super fast on Hard and Extreme mode. I don't even know if it's possible to escape it on Hard. Usually the opens the moment the reflection freezes, but the door was still locked for a long-ass time even after that happened on Hard.

I like them both, but for different reasons.

Resident Evil is more action-oriented, and leans towards trying to be scary. Jump-out-of-your-seat moments, stuff busting out of closets or through windows.

Silent Hill is more atmospheric, and more disturbing. It gets inside your head and screws with your mind.

I'm glad they each have their own merits...too many game franchises these days are just cloning each other. RE and SH are both in the same genre, but they've kept what makes them unique.
