I was fortunate enough to go to a Doobie Brothers concert and I have to admit.. they are the best band to play live; they sound absolutely amazing. When they played this song, there wasn't a person in the room who left untouched by this song. They are extremely talented and John McFee has such passion in the violin
Such a great song they did such a great job, so touching so meaningful, so surprised i didn't realize the Doobies were still Rocken, thank you guys so much for this... xoxoxoxoxo
This is one of my new favorites of the Doobie Bros. It really touches home with me since my only daughter is leaving for college in a few months, but it's a beautiful song. Writing, singing, music are all superb! This is a great Pat Simmons song :) So glad to hear that the Doobie Bros are still producing fantastic music! Just saw them perform this live about a week ago, and it was a fantastic show as always! Keep rocking Doobies!
Having sent one child off to college and the other one on the horizon, this song really hit home the first time I heard it...including the families of our military in the video, well, it makes it even more special. great...no, AWESOME tune, Pat!
Love it..I am from Ukiah, CA and I celebrated my 64th birthday at the concert in Charleston. Man you guys were awesome.. Still.. But I much prefer listening to you this way.. WGC album is great! and Yeah, I got it! The lyrics, the music, it just really touches the heart and Pat? The conversation between you and your daughter was just beautiful.. The Video makes it even more touching. Keep it going guys. Yeah UKIAH!
One of the saddest parts is you, Patrick, eating alone in the hotel room. It really must be like that. Remember when you played Lake Geneva and we scouted places to see if you could catch a bite after the concert? But therre's lots more joyful stuff. You are so blessed! Love and hugs, Carolyn<3
Considering we live in a 'world gone crazy' these guys continue to make great music and address issues at the core of our social discourse w/ out preaching. These guys are AMAZING and this song is powerful! Great job!
If you can watch from 2:50 to 3:15 twice in a row and not want to cry your more of a man than I am, goodness grief....
