  • MIG is for Mikoyan Gurevich design bureau, they design fighters for the most part and MIL is for moscow helicopter plant.

  • Не "Миг" - а "Ми"!!! ;D ;D ;D

  • Helicopter is made by Mil Helicopters (of Moscow). It is designated Mi-26. MIG (aircraft) does not enter the picture here except same country of origin.

  • World's largest OPERATIONAL helicopter, and world's largest PRODUCTION helicopter, yes.

  • who wants him to say It puts the lotion on the hands or else it gets the hose again or would you fuck me id fuck me

  • well we all Know the Russians like everything Huge

  • soudns like your having an orgasm :/

  • I hate how everyone keeps saying the MIL MI-12 is the largest helicopter in the world and the MI-26 is the 2nd largest. As'matthedesigner' says the MI-12 never went beyond a prototype and wasn't ever put into full scale production so it remained a concept aircraft

  • Comment removed

  • @whitewingsrich they were made for the sole purpose of rapidily moving ICBM's around russia during the cold war.. theres not many, but they do exist and are much larger.. and therefore is the largest helicopter in the world.. If you wanna be technical you could call this one the largest production helicopter, but it's most definately not the largest helicopter.

  • what was making the noises in the woods???!

  • @amayafayevideo - Bears crapping.

  • Worlds 2nd largest helicopter

  • MI...

  • it was bigfoot makin them noises

  • Not a MIG, Its called a Mil halo. Mil is the russian helicopters, thought it might help

  • it's MI-26, not MIG

  • Man I bet that thing was defening loud, not to mention a gluttanous fuel consumption. Cool stuff.

  • It's Russian

  • in solviet russia the coper rofls at you!!!

  • Actually this is not from Mikoyan/Gurevitch - MIG - who produce the mig-29 for example, but from MIL, one of the main helicopter designer of the USSR and Russia.

The Mil Mi-26 is the largest helicopter in service, in size and in payload capability, though the biggest ever designed and built was the Mil V-12 that never enter in serial production and stopped fiights in the 70's...

  • Russian helicopter looks so ugly even the military ones (in my opinion)

  • those russians know their stuff.

quite a good looking helicopter if you ask me; better looking than the others they've made.

  • Actuly, thats not the worlds biggest, the worlds biggest in the MI-12

  • mil 26 is bigger

  • @wwqqwww

Yes, but the Mil V-12 (as its more commonly known), didn't get much further than the prototype testing phase. The Mi-26 seen in this video is the biggest helicopter ever to actually enter production.

  • @wwqqwww incase you didn't understand the title it says worlds LARGEST helicopter. Not worlds BIGGEST.

  • @hockeyfan902 stfu dick, i did that comment along ass time ago lol

  • @wwqqwww Yeah but MI-26 can lift more than MI-12

  • IS RUSSIAN.

  • Similar load capacity to the Lockheed C130 Herc.

  • Bigger

  • You have to admit it thosee Russians don't fuck about

  • its MI 16 u should see MI 26 its biggest helicopter with 1 main engine in the world !!!

  • That is a Mil 26...the worlds largest single rotor helicopter.

  • MIG - planes

    MIL - Helicopters

  • good vid

  • Again, not a MiG. MiL.

  • its not mig, its MIL

  • this is not by any means the largest helicopter. the largest is the "MI 12 HOMER"

  • thats the largest ever built true, but there was only 2 prototypes this is mass produced

  • I'm jealous! I wan't to fly that helicopter, and there you are, standing right beside it

  • mil-12 is the biggest, the mil-26 is the biggest in service. thats different.

  • The Mi-26 was not developed by the Mikoyan-Gurevich design bureau, it is made by Mil Moscow. MiG stuck with jets and Mil stuck with helicopters. Get your facts straight.

  • a little erro, it is not World's largest helicopter. the World's largest helicopter is the MI-12 Homer, Mi-26 is World's largest in operation

  • MIG = airplane. MIL = helicopter

  • Its not a MIG, it is infact a Mil mi 26 (halo). It is the worlds biggest in regular operation.

  • this should be called something new other than helicopter

  • It's Mil Mi-26 NOT Mig!!! It is the biggest helicopter in production

  • this heli is not the biggest

  • a chinook is way bihher, and so is the heavy lift helipcopters they use for contruction in skyscrapers and shit

  • your just an idiot! don't worry there are many of you people.

  • You're both idiots, the chinook has less than half the capacity of the Mi-26, same goes for the CH-53.

  • like i study this stuff... i thought it was. so you cant be nice about it

  • Then don't make statements about things you know nothing about.

  • why do the russians always have to have the biggest ? this mil copter... the an-225 etc...

  • its a Mil not a Mig ;)

    but great video.

  • fail Mil V-12 is the biggest helicopter

  • wouldnt the ch53 stallion or chinook be the biggest?

  • no.

  • Mil Mi-26 ,,Halo''

  • MI* typo

  • Its mil not mig

  • This helicopter lifted a dehy for us about 2 years ago back when I was working for Paramount 1/2 hr and it cost $63000

  • Mikoyan Gurevich only makes airplanes.

  • But I think you were too in awe to realise it.

  • what pipeline company you work for Klampola?

  • looks pretty cold where u were

  • So what was the noise?! What did it sound like, cuz I couldn't make out anything on the video.

  • Actually it's the Mil V-12

    231,485 lb (105,000 kg).

The distance from the edge of one rotor disk to the other was almost 220 ft (67 m), even wider across than the wingspan of a Boeing 747! There were only 2 prototypes due to the difficulty to maneuvre despite the huge lifting capacity.

  • Yeah! The Mil makes helis basically, Miguyan makes fighters, that's #1, #2 its the biggest 'in service' heli, not the overall biggest, that would be the Mi-12 or MV-12.

And #3, 4 all those chinook lovers out there, there is a video of this baby carrying the chinook, yes i love america too, but biggest aircraft, subs and helicopters are from Russia!!

  • The Mil Mi-26 has a Max takeoff weight: 56,000 kg (123,500 lb).

The CH-47 Chinook has a Max takeoff weight: 50,000 lb (22,680 kg).

  • It's not the biggets. Get your facts straight.

  • The Mil Mi 26 is in fact the biggest to have gone into production. Only the Mil Mi 12 prototype was bigger. And, obviously, much bigger than the Chinook.

  • isn't the world's biggest helicopter

    ;)

  • Doesnt look as big as a chinook??

  • it doesnt seem to be on this video as the guy did not have his friend stand on the wheels for us to see how big but try this

    link put youtubedotcom and this

chinook will look like a shrimp!

    watch?v=hppPysbas74&feature=related

  • Not as big. Much bigger.

  • whos inside..its ARTIE ZIFF!

  • ha haa

  • It isn`t. Mil Mi 26: Rotor diameter: 32.00 m (104 ft 11.8 in) Max takeoff weight: 56,000 kg (123,500 lb) Length: 40.025 m (131 ft 4 in) Capacity: Up to 150 troops Chinook: Rotor diameter: 60 ft 0 in (18.3 m) Max takeoff weight: 50,000 lb (22,680 kg) Length: 98 ft 10 in (30.1 m) Capacity: 33-55 troops Do some research.
  • Technically it's the Mi-12.

    Even though it's an airliner.

  • its not the worlds biggest chooper it cant be but it might have the worlds largestl ift lol nvm im wathcing the side view of it, it is the largest lmao

  • not quite as big as the xh-17 to me

  • Or Chinook

  • the chinook is half the size!!!

  • true, I'm out of perspective, though the Chinook might be longer

  • The Chinook is 30 mt. long, and the Mil Mi 26 is 40 mt. long.

  • ya but everything else on the chinook is like half the size bud

  • the largest is the Mil Mi-12 homer but it's not flying anymore so the award goes to the still flying mi-26

  • its not the same company that makes the MiG series and never has been - This is a MiL product - different design house and different production facilities.

  • this was also in fort nelson, BC doing oil patch work, and mining. Frikin big chopper.

  • I've seen this thing blew Chevy Tahoe 50 yards away.

  • wow dude u get orgasms of this dont u?

  • this is MI 26 TP for fire fighting but the MI 26 T version is even bigger and more powful

  • The guy is mistaken. This is Mil, not MIG.

  • Transport Canada regulations LIMITED this MI-26 to a Max external payload of 40,000 LBS.

Working as ground crew beneath it, hooking up load, we had to wear full-face motorcycle helmets to protect from flying debris in the ~130km/h rotor wash!

  • "Thats stupid big" - Love it!

  • Is this British Columbia cause I'm from here to What part you from I'm from Vancouver

  • This is North of Stewart, BC. I have worked on this job for 3 years, starting with the initial surveying

  • Nice are you having fun?

  • And after all that... it sure is big.

I saw it land up here in Ft. St. John. It really tears up the sky.

    But did you notice:

The mountains in the background, and the forest close by... only in beautiful B.C.

  • and it's not the largest helicopter, Mil Mi-12 "Homer" is muuuuuuuuch bigger...

  • You're right, the Mi-12 was bigger, but it never went into production; I believe only 3 ever left the ground. After the Mi-12 the Mi-26 (in this video) is the largest helicopter (in terms of fuselage size, or payload).

The Mi-26 is also the largest single rotor helicopter. After the Mi-26 was the Mi-6, very few of these are still in service; whilst the Mi-6 had a slightly larger rotor diameter than the Mi-26, it's payload was ~15 tonnes less and its fuselage was ~7m shorter.

  • jou jou, that's true, from this point of view...hmm, and the best is "hind", howgh

  • Mil and Mig - are two different companies!! One is an airplane produces, the other is helicopters, and they have NOTHING to do with each other.

  • thats a big fucking copter.

  • Holy crap - passionate helicopter people, that's cool. I do not offer myself as any kind of expert. That's what I was told it was. Thanks for all the info now back to the beer.

  • what was making the noise?

  • This is not a MiG, but a Mil, Mi-26 helicopter, aka Halo. It was manufactured at Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant (named after constructor Mikhail Mil).

MiG is short for Mikoyan-Gurevich Design Bureau, named after its founders, Artem Mikoyan and Mikhail Gurevich.

  • Okay, It's made by the mil company, as in Mikhail Mil, not Mikoyan Mig. Research your shit before saying it wrong four times on the internet. The blades are 47 feet each, and, when combined with the hub, the diameter is 108 feet in diameter. The small rotor blade is 26 feet in diameter. It maxes at 25,000 hosrepower (50 ferrarris, for example).

  • Actually, it's built by Mil (as in, Mikhail Lenkovicth Mil), not Mikoyan Mig. It totals at about 22500 horsepower, almost triple the Sikorsky Skycrane, which is the largest vertical lifter in the western world. Just thought you should know. The blades diameter is 108 feet, which means the individual blades are 47 feet across, not 27.

  • That Canadian beer must be strong up there. It's a Mil, not a Mig, and the rotor diameter is 105ft, so the blades are much bigger than 27 ft ea. Take off, eh, before that Sasquatch gets ya!

  • Dude, know your facts before you speak. The MI-26T is one of the many Varient of helicopter that is designed and manufactured by the Mil Bureau, not Miguyan..... Nice Video thought
