The harmonics during the bridge ain't from a guitar I think. It sounds strange when you played them.

@twikie258 It might not actually be guitar, since the rest of the guitar in the song is chopped-up samples of the original version, and those harmonics aren't in the original. It sounds like guitar to me, but it's definitely separate from the one that plays the chords before it, so that's why it sounds different when I play it, since I combine them into one part.

Yeah well if the solos are that long, I can see how they would need to improvise SOMETIMES...well in that case I gain more respect for the band...I say if you can't repeat what you do in the studio live, don't do it (even though LP doesn't add ALL of their guitar parts live, it still sounds good enough :D).

hey just looking at your other comments..and then this will be completely random. But since you got offered a job to be in a Metallica tribute band, i'm guessing you know a lot more about them than I do, since probably a rock from my backyard knows more about them than me. ANYWAYS, when Metallica plays live, can they actually like, play all of their guitar solos at least 85% accurately with their album? because I've noticed a lot of bands live that can't play their solos live.

@nickanderson4639 They're usually pretty good about it, the solos James plays, he usually nails perfectly. Kirk plays the majority of his stuff the same but he improvises a bit sometimes, particularly with his longer solos. He's can be a little bit sloppy, but not as terrible as some people say. Most of the people who criticize him probably can't do any better than he does.

My videos have a combined total of over 1.3 million views and I have over 2,000 subscribers. My band has a CD out and 2 songs in rotation on an Internet radio station. I've played numerous shows. I'm not a celebrity, but I could put up a video of me brushing my teeth and it would get more views than you would ever get for anything you put up.

I'm going to agree that NoButtonsToday sounds like a whiner, but this comment about "fame" is pretty ridiculous. First of all, let's dig into the reality of the music business. You provide a good amount of cash, your song has internet radio play if it fits standards, you can book a show whenever you please, and you can walk into any studio that you can afford. Releasing a CD is very affordable using a nice little website known as Lulu.

I don't mean to come off as someone with delusions of grandeur, hell, I work 30 hours a week as a telemarketer to help pay the bills for the little 2-bedroom apartment I'm renting. As far as my band goes though, we never paid anybody off to achieve anything. We played shows for free, paid out of pocket to have our CDs professionally manufactured through Discmakers, and worked out of our own studio.

Oh, and as far as the viewers go, your videos consist of covers of one of the biggest bands in the world which automatically will get you views. Then you put into the equation that you are one of the few, if not only, people to have a big collection of covers. Last but not least, you have to figure in the young generation of fans who have no concept of what it takes to be a good musician. Don't get me wrong, your covers are fantastic but your attitude is piss poor.

A lot of my subscribers have tried to follow the same route (and I certainly wish them the best of luck), but more often than not, the videos I see them post only get a couple hundred views, if that. I think what happened with me was more of a result of me being well-known in the Linkin Park fan community long before I started posting videos.

It did turn into quite the popularity contest, and I'll admit to my fair amount of shameless self-promotion, but a lot of the people who commented on my mix were people I didn't know. A good portion of the people on LPLive actually hate me anyway.

That's the plan. I'm probably not going to do X-Ecutioner Style because the guitar on that is like...somewhere in between D and Eb tuning (either one will sound out of tune if you try to play along with it), and a couple of the songs like BY_MYSLF and 1STP KLOSR will be really hard to pull off for various reasons, but I'm going to try.
