Hey, who here remembers "The Mirror Scene"? I so loved that when Monica, was looking at her breast in the mirror and then Alan's, reflection walked into the mirror so she pulled up her strap real quick, so he wouldn't have to see the cancer or the lump. I loved the way Alan, was so loving in that scene. Stuart and Leslie were both just in that storyline and in some of those scenes they didn't have to act they were good.
The fact that Stuart Damon can go from spine chilling scary to emotionally dramatic to side splitting funny is a true testament of his versatility, range, and skill as an actor. The vets on GH are the only ones that have that talent and deliver it...Leslie Charleson (Monica), Jane Elliot (Tracy), Tony Geary (Luke), John Ingle (Edward). Most of the "newbie" actors on the show can only "act" (and I use that word loosely) one dimensional and their character has no range, which is boring.

If you look at GH now, the vets are the only ones who have that same talent and actually deliver it - Leslie Charleson (Monica), Tony Geary (Luke), Jane Elliot (Tracy), John Ingle (Edward). Most of the "newbie" actors on the show are one dimensional and extremely limited with their range.
I always thought they should have gotten an award of some sort for this storyline. This was such an emotional story and the pain they both were feeling was so real. I loved the way Stuart's face spoke so much when he looked at Monica. He was so devastated.
My god every time I see this my heart just breaks. The acting was so moving. The depth that each of them gives to their characters amazes me to this day. Thanks so much for posting this.
Leslie and Stuart played these scenes extremely well in my book. I mean the look on Alan's face after Monica, told him she had cancer was so unbelievable. I mean, you just wanted to cry seeing his pain and her pain as well. Leslie and Stuart play these characters with such depth, it's ashame they couldn't get that respect now.
Dare I say it, I liked this even better than the AIDS storyline (not that that one was bad).

One of the best storylines they've ever done, and played so beautifully. Bless you!

Oh, I so agree. How SD and LC did not win Emmy Awards for this storyline is a crime.

I so agree. These two actors are so much better than anyone they feature on GH these days. You can read so much from just their looks and gestures.
