It was an exclamation expressing his disbelief about President Obama's situation. It wasn't a racist comment, people who try to say it was racist either have an axe to grind or are just plain stupid.

People that are paid for speaking in public, especially, the news readers and analysts should be required to do so in formal English, refraining from loosely defined euphemisms, assuming they are trying to convey something rather than just fill up air time between commercials.

@empty27em Sure, it's not the same as the basketball team incident, but it's just as bad. Go ahead and try to defend him. I'm sure he didn't mean it to come off as it did. But that doesn't matter. He said it. That comment probably hit a lot of people close to home. It's his job as a journalist to make sure that he DOESN'T sound like an bigoted racist, whether he is in fact one or not. And that was VERY poor word choice. He's lucky he didn't get the boot for that one. That is unacceptable.

I do not think that Sanchez is racist, but imagine if any commentator on Fox used the term "cotton picking" as an adjective for Obama. This would be front page news for most of the main stream media. Another example of the double standard associated with the liberal main (lame) stream media.
