If you wanna listen to teh intro slower when practicing, use Windows media player 11 and put the song speed to 0.7. much easier to hear how it's played. But this guy is epic at teaching Metallica.

what pedal do u use?

some easier ways to do it. for that very last section if u start in 12th position from your A string you can go 1-3-4; 1-3-4; 1-3; 1-2-4; 1-2-4 then keep your 1-2-4 on that high E string and pull of 4-2-1 and then go back to 4 and bend up a whole step. ur you could just slide all the way up to the 17th fret.

yeap, hetfield writes most of the songs bouth instrumental and lyrics, he only doesnt do more solos cus of the vocals, but if u check in most of the instrumental songs you will see that he does big part of the solos, like the first of orion i think, the full ecstasy of gold ( the lead guitar) and in suicide and redemption the 2 i think
