  • What is the music used in the beginning of the video? Not the classical one.. Something electric not sure... I really like it and would appreciate the name .. Thanks

  • Emocionante, arrebatrador

  • You are such an incredible beautiful dancer...

  • What an elf!!!

  • **

  • those legs!! i want those legs! so perfect! <3

  • Superb dancer.

  • Beautiful clip very ARTISTIC AS EVERYTHING YOU DO.......

  • beautiful feet! very cool video!

  • what a perfect turn-out!

  • i love your technique! And your art...amazing....

  • I could watch Daniil dance all day long. He's so fluid. Its beautiful.

  • Meu Deus... meu Deus!

e vi dançando ao vivo... é demais!

  • Tu non sei umano. . . sei incredibile!!!

    Congratulazioni davvero ;)

  • hiya danill~

it was great to see u in my country (taiwan), god~ u were amazing~ i took photo with u after gala at national theater back door~haha! look forward to see u again in taiwan of gala

  • Lindo!

  • sorry but Carlos isn't Baryshnikov

  • youre right he isnt.he is far more talented and a much better dancer.if carlos defected from cuba and claimed political asylum like nureyev or michael did he would have been just as big or an even bigger dance sensation

barishnykov doesnt even have a natural body for ballet

and he wasnt the artists nurevey was

this guy on this clip is REALLY turned in!!!

  • Actually it seems that Daniil Simkin has perfect turnout... from my perspective :) just look more closely next time.

  • then you dont know anything about ballet...he has a terrible arched back, sticks his ribcage out clenches his feet when he tendus and has about a 45 degree natural turnout

not my idea of a naturally gifted dancer

  • Hmm funny how you say I know nothing about ballet when I am a student at a professional school.

He does not clench his feet- he is simply using his toes. if you just arch your foot when you point its not enough, believe it or not. oh and by the way nobody's perfect. He works with what he has (which is nearly everything a dancer needs except for his height) and thats what everybody likes about him. I dont know how you can put down someone like Daniil. His jumps and pirouettes are amazing.

  • which school are you going to?

sorry i just have seen a lot better and far more talent...people a bigger thing out him then he actually is

i am very critical but i expect the best, especially if im paying my hard earned money to go and see someone dance

it is after all a non refundable product

  • Your from England? There is no one better than him in England (period).

  • carlos acosta...johan kobberg...tomas edur,ivan putrov

  • LOL, really...? I don't think so.

  • that probably because you have never seen them dance

  • I've seen ALL of them dance. In England and on video etc.etc. Just admit Daniil is GOOD.

  • well videos dont do them justice.i wont deny simkin is technically good, but he bores me to death, plus i dont find his dancing beautiful

there is NO WAY he is on par with acosta, edur, kobberg or putrov

simkin looks awkward when he dances, the movements dont look natural or fluid.he is too schooled and he had really bad port de bras

  • Videos ARE a really good source but I've also seen them ALL at the Royal Ballet. I actually prefer the women at the royal, but the guys... I'm not really sold on. Daniil is fresh, new talent maybe too good for the Royal Ballet. Im glad he choose ABT.

  • too good for the royal ballet???

you may think daniil is the bees knees, that is your opinion which you are entitled to,but dont use your ignorant bias opinion to try and prove a fact

every name i mentioned is without a doubt more naturally talented then him, that is a fact not an opinion

abt can have him...no one this side of the pond will miss him, unless they are looking for someone to bore them to sleep

  • I don't understand why we can't just have a difference in opinion... GET OVER IT! I don't care!

  • you dont care so much that you responded to my initial post...(???)

no one said youre not entitled to your opinion but if anyone is going to insult one of the greatest ballet companies on earth, with a rich history,be prepared to to be pulled up on that!

  • YOUR SUCH A DOUCHE! I don't care enough to argue with you in Daniil's defense. I was definately NOT trying to insult companies in England. The Royal IS my favorite company. Too bad I only favor the women there though.

  • if its your favorite company then why wouldnt you want daniil simkin to dance for them?

why are you glad he is dancing for ABT instead?

  • Because male dancers at ABT are better trickster's (bigger jumps, more turns, powerful combinations... It suits Daniil's talents. I like the Royal because of all the romantic ballets, the Royal work well with it but I just couldn't imagine Daniil in those sort roles like Manon, Mayerling, Onegin... Maybe he'll develop into a romantic actor...

  • all flash and no substance,if ballet was supposed to be about circus tricks then it would be called a sport not a performing art, besides kumakawa is probably the biggest trickster of them all and he danced for the royal for years.you obviously have no grasp of how huge the companies repertoire is,its not just all ashton and mccmillan ballets, theres influence from everywhere, choo san go,forsythe, tharp, bruce, page,ek,mccgregor, wheeldon, bintley, byrd, kylian, vamos, duarte

  • I'm very much aware of what these major companies are doing especially the Royal and ABT. All of the choreographer's you just mentioned are more neo-classical and/or contemporary and is why I like the Royal: the diversity. ABT tends to repeat the classic's every year. Boring but true. For Simkin there is a level of talent that comes with maturity and experience that a viruoso should acquire. Point is: Daniil Simkin is very talented. Probably one of the best young talents I've seen lately.

  • i dont understand you point, the royal ballet does classics over and over too.i wont deny that simkin is a very good dancer, but he is not the best up and coming dancer,he doesnt even make the classical so how can he be so naturally talented as you say?

  • further more you have no understanding of what it means to be classical dancer,to create emotion or tell a story through dance is where is all originated from.if you cant imagine danill not being able to do ballets like manon then what does that say about him as an artist? pretty limited eh?thats one thing about dancers like edur, acosta kobberg, putrov, they are versatile and can all do the classics as well as the modern or neo classical choreography

  • LOL! Who cares about being a classical dancer! Obviously in England most "classical" dancers have a stick so far up there asses (arses) they can't do ANYTHING else! American and European dancers and I won't even bother using the term classical in this century because dancers SHOULD BE DIVERSE! Daniil is young, and with my experience I do know artistry comes with life experience too. You can tell a prodigy to do a step and feel this and that but if it's not real... We laugh.

  • you mention that the choreographers i mentioned are all neo classical and contemporary and then you go on to accuse english of not being able to do anything other classical ballet! what a contradiction...lol

i would love to see simkim attempt something by alvin ailey or paul taylor ,he would look totally out of place, where as acosta would suit their choreography perfectly

  • if the royal ballet is your favorite company why would you want daniil simkin to dance for ABT instead?

why are you happy about that?

it doesnt make much sense does it?

  • I think ABT needs him right now... His look, talent, character... You must like him... Because you care soooooo much as to why he's not at the Royal LOL. Maybe because I'm American, he should be here.

  • i dont care that he is not in the royal ballet,i dont care what he does,he doesnt interest me at all.i find him boring and dull, nothing we havent seen a million times before

as i said abt can have him...but if you do respond to what i write i will out of courtesy respond to you

the one thing doesnt make sense is how youre trying to change my opinion, are you not confident in your own conviction of him as a dancer that you need the support of everyone else to make you feel better about it?

  • YOUR INSANE! Clearly youre not a professioanl dancer. Clearly you haven't danced a day in your life. Clearly you care SO MUCH about dogging a TALENTED dancer not to mention, OK, HE'S GOOD. Give it to him. You should get a life... You remind me of those people BITTER because they didn't make it into the professional world, so they dish-out shit on the working and most gifted folks. HA!!! Let's see what you can do babe... NOTHING.

  • great comeback,i corner you and you call me bitter cause i have an opinion.last time i checked i lived in a free country where i can like or dislike whoever and whatever i want.i am also not here to prove myself as i am not the one who is posting videos for public adulation.the reality is simkin is a good dancer, but he isnt the best thing since sliced bread, nothing the dance world hasnt seen a million times before.sorry if that pisses on your parade!

  • GET A LIFE. (no reply)

  • i have one thank you very much,i am 100 % positive that i have a pulse and that im breathing.dont know why youre getting so angry, everyone who comments on youtube is voicing their opinion and just because ours differ, you chose to become hostile.why is that? are you fundamentally malevolent?

dont you think the world would be rather boring if we all shared the same opinion and ideals? variety is the spice of life :)

  • @magicalgrasshopper You said it yourself " variety is the spice of life :) ", so shouldn't we be celebrating Daniil because he is a variation from Carlos or Roberto Bollo...? He is a wonderful dancer and great because he is different, as with every great dancer out there :). Just wanted to add that, i know you commented over a year ago but i hope you see this! >_<''. Have a good day :) :)

  • @lalawooty exactly...if we all liked the same things the world would be rather boring no?

so me finding daniil to be one of the most boring unexciting dancers around adds variety and spice to everyones life :)

i mean i could agree with you,but then that would make the world a boring place,so my tastes and dislikes adds variety

  • @magicalgrasshopper this video doesn't do him justice. i could agree with that, but Daniil is fantastic.

  • @secretme127

sorry, but in my opinion he isnt a beautiful dancer like roberto bollo or carlos acosta

he can do everything, there is no doubt about that, but he doesnt make ballet look beautiful,he actually does the opposite in my opinion

im very funny about dancers making the classical line

  • @magicalgrasshopper (Like bowed legs and not totally whacked arches? I sort of see where you are coming from.). No, he doesn't have Roberto Bollo or Carlos Acosta's pure, princely elegance EXACTLY. His type is different. I love it. A lot of people do. And you're right, you don't have to (obviously).

I just find him very intriguing. I think he has something different that is really special.

  • @secretme127 physicality aside,as an artist i find him extremely dull and boring.he isnt graceful in a masculine way and he doesnt make ballet look beautiful.even as a virtuosse dancer who can do all the big tricks.he doesnt excite me and usually i love seeing someone pull off amazing tricks

that is just my opinion, you have a different one which of course youre entitled to

its good because the world would be rather boring if we all liked the same things

  • Comment removed

  • @magicalgrasshopper sorry but he is more beautiful than carlos acosta!!! simkin has beautiful lines and legs and dosent look like a monkey like acosta.

  • @danceandsing00 a monkey???

youve just exposed what youre all about

  • k i bet u anything u cant dance like him so why dont u stop hating and being jelous and talk about how good he is!!!!!!!

  • theres no need to dance like him...if i payed to see someone turned in would ask for my money back

  • oh and where the fuck was he turned in??

  • your feet are flawless

  • Bravissimo :)

  • well aren't you a cutie

your technique is flawless and you are an amazing jumper and turner.

the best male dancer i have seen.

  • Comment removed

  • è fantastico!! ^_^

  • i love this video but more the end its funny jeje. This guy has an amazing technique his extraordinary..

  • the end of the video makes it look like he died and this is a remembrance video

  • haha. i sort of think it looks like he got possessed by like an evil thing or something. but the end is funny....

  • have you ever done pointe? i know it's strange because most guys don't go on pointe but some roles require pointe, but your arches are amazing! I've done pointe for over a year and I still can't get my arches even close to as good as yours!

  • Oooooh my God! you are soooo PERFECT! I'm just.. ... I have no words for you o.o

  • wow how old is he???????

  • I think 20 or 21 but i don´t know if it´s correct...i hope this data help you...

  • i remember when he joyned in Munich(germany) Ballet competition and he didn't get 1st price, it's was really stupid from the side of organizers and jury, HE WAS THE BEST (if i'm not wrong he was about 14-16)

i hate dancers from Munich and most of teachers from Bosl Accademy(they are all blind)

    and it's my opinion.

    SImkin is THE BEST

  • I actually do agree with you. I don't hate them, but they are very different. Bosl did not want me - funnily Nureyew took me instantly in :)

  • "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."

"They who love dancing too much seem to have more brains in their feet than in their head."

  • he did a perfect 7 pirouette in the end..

    that's just incredible!

  • how old are you? you are so incredible! <3

  • perfect video about the real Daniil. the professional dancer and the nice and funny person.

  • amazing feet! soo jealous

  • Daniil was born to dance!

  • oh my god we need guys like you in my ballet.

  • Wow! Amazing!

  • I wish ,I can dance like you,

what really took for you to become so good?

  • Yah, I want to know too.

  • Excellent video!

  • I've seen you in St. Petersburg on 1st of June of this year, thanx so much

    It was gorgeous!!!

  • you are amazing

  • I want dance how you Danill!!!!!!!!! your videos are cooooooool!

  • This clip is AWESOME!!!

just for information, that's where I dance ballet:P

thanx for the nice video :)

  • this is a great video!!!! I love the ending :) hahahah

  • what are the songs in this?

  • Cool Video! 5@@@@@!

  • genial.

  • I would have to take Dramamine before I could even attempt to spin around like that. Just beautiful. You always seem to enjoy yourself - so wonderful.

  • yes me too! if you are really coming to america i would make a trip anywhere in the states to see you. please keep me informed!

  • It hurts when you hit your head on the bar!!!

  • I love that clip. You always have your fantastic sense of humour!Thank you so much!

  • Yahoo! ею! Молодец!

  • Danil, you are amazing.

  • omg daniil! i love this video!haha

  • (this comment is not for this video, just a random comment)daniil is one of the most talented male dancers i've ever seen.so beautiful and graceful.some female dancers can't even move like he does.technique is near perfect, needs a little more heart and personality in some of his performances, but overall a great, great performer and i wish i knew him for real cause even though i danced for almost nineteen years of my life i'm sure he could still teach me a thing or two.

  • nice work! keep it up and looking forward to see you soon at ABT !

  • G216A911: I read a comment from you on Daniil Dimkin's video. "See you soon at ABT". Is he scheduled to guest or visit with ABT? Please let me know if you do know any details. Also, wanted to see your video but it was unavailable for viewing. Are you going to post it again? Thanks

    Lin

  • He's going to be a soloist at ABT, I think.

  • SweeeeeT!

  • I love the close-ups. It's one thing to tell students they must be careful about positions and go through the whole foot in battements tendu, and another to be able to say, "SEE!!!" Usually I don't like slow motion, but on Youtube, it's almost the only way to see those wonderful jumps. Who says humans can't fly?

  • Omg.. Daniil's amazing.

I had to stop ballet, Im so sad. ;(

  • looking forward to seeing him at ABT loved his father and now the son...

  • If I ever make my students have half of your technique I will be the happiest person on earth!

    really nice clip!

  • terrific
