@lXMaverickXl it's kinda like when speed/power metal bands go more progessive metal...it only adds more layers to the sound...long as their core sound remains the same I am all for a band adding tidbits of other genres onto their own...it's when it's a complete change or diversion from their sound that fans get REALLY pissed and it's easy to see why.

In Flames were part of Heavy Metal music, but sold-out and started doing gaycore.(quality - they suck). Amon Amarth are Heavy Metal artists, nothing wrong about them, they play melodic Death Metal (quality - mediocre)

The thing about Barlow is that views towards his singing are VERY varied. It's like King Diamond. Some people love KD but others hate his voice. I am one of those who doesn't like Barlow's voice in some places but i like it in others. Horror Show I think he did terrible for a few of the songs but in framing armageddon he did really well. Greely's voice is also very heavy which is why this album is very thrash compared to the newer albums.

Metallica and thrash in general has some really cool riffs but you can hear how much talent and dedication Scaffer has put into Iced Earth to make them the best
The thing about Iced Earth is that musically, the music is complicated, but mentally/emotionally (whichever you prefer) it speaks so simply to people. Iced Earth is probably the easiest thrash metal listen-to I can find.
@Myserieden Yeah Iced Earth rapes. The thing is that Metallica isn't imho thrash metal. To me they're more of just plain or heavy metal. Their music never really involved alot of double bass pedals or energetic riffs. Their Most thrash songs were from when Mustaine was in the band or Fight Fire With Fire. Iced Earth is amazing though. Theyre like Iron Maiden in the instrumentalism but a little different vocals.

@WishmasterTheDark I am well aware that Power metal is there style, i'll reiterate that again. But listen to the examples i used for the more instrumental, operatic style, and see what i mean. Again, Ghost of Freedom, Watching over me, and Consequences. And I can respect your opinion. You obviously don't like them. But to me they are special. I have my reasons, why, and especially in Maiden's case, its because that music helped me find myself, and save my own life.

1776, Angels Holocaust, Attila, Burning Times, Disciples Of The Lie, Dracula, Frankenstein, Ghost Of Freedom, iced Earth, Melancholy, My Own Savior, Mystical End, Reaping Stone, Red Baron - Blue Max, Stormrider, The Coming Curse, The Path I Choose, Dante's Inferno and Watching Over Me. They're better than all shitty bands you mentioned. Now fuck off.

A simple, "I don't like their music myself" Or even, "I think they are shit" is different then trying to condemn them as a whole. That makes it your opinion. @WishmasterTheDark Which grates me, cause without an older brother, a girl i fell in love with, and Maiden's music to help me realize i wasn't alone. Maiden, and metal in general was what i went to when i needed to reaffirm my faith in humanity and myself. I was battling problems you could only dream of, and am still to this day. Without those three things, I would be dead. My older brother is gone, may he rest in peace, but his influence from introducing me to Metal still remains.

He showed me this music to show me that i wasnt alone in having gone through hell and back. He showed me it cause it gets u pumped, and gets you going, and because in its own way, teaches amazing morales. That's what i mean by respect. So im sorry for getting into this flame war with you.

The thing about Barlow is that views towards his singing are VERY varied. It's like King Diamond. Some people love KD but others hate his voice. I am one of those who doesn't like Barlow's voice in some places but i like it in others. Horror Show I think he did terrible for a few of the songs but in framing armageddon he did really well. Greely's voice is also very heavy which is why this album is very thrash compared to the newer albums.

The thing about Iced Earth is that musically, the music is complicated, but mentally/emotionally (whichever you prefer) it speaks so simply to people. Iced Earth is probably the easiest thrash metal listen-to I can find.

@Myserieden Yeah Iced Earth rapes. The thing is that Metallica isn't imho thrash metal. To me they're more of just plain or heavy metal. Their music never really involved alot of double bass pedals or energetic riffs. Their Most thrash songs were from when Mustaine was in the band or Fight Fire With Fire. Iced Earth is amazing though. Theyre like Iron Maiden in the instrumentalism but a little different vocals.
