I wonder if you know that a lot of classic house music (I can't today's house music) took a lot of music and vocal samples from hip hop/ rap songs. And vice versa (Rob Base "Get on the Dance Floor" for instance). Maybe you can do a video devoted to that.
Thank you for the response. An, Have you check the sample for "Ghetto Dreams" I thinks its uses the Intro to "I need a new drug" from Hewie Lewis & The News
@Baltimoreman78 I really do like it actually.but I wasn't thinking of it at the time because I was thinking about picture sleeves. Plus, I always think of that song as disco and keep it filed in the 70s disco box. Classic Luther.
Hey Funktuall, this is DJThunder1970 back in 89 when HUGO came to Charlotte,NC I didn't have power for 3 weeks. You know you should teach this in college, or at least have a show on Sirius/XM Radio. Give them a call what could it hurt. Look dude you obviously have what it takes to build an audience why dont you quit funkin around and go national.Get paid to have fun and teach at the same time, like picture pages.Peace!
R.I.P. Nicholas Ashford/Teena Marie!! Thank you for posting/honouring our music history-seeing this on Labour Day-hope your power is back on! Appreciate tracks from Krush Groove/Fletch-Sheila E sounded just like Lyn Collins in the second half of Holly Rock. Gotta hand it to you for posting interesting stuff even without the actual songs!! No hate mail, but "Freeway of Love" kicks ass on the dancefloor then, and now, and kept Aretha & Narada Michael Walden alive in the 80s!!! DAVEDJ
What up Funk! Just wanted to thank you for giving me Jimmy Castor's number. Mr. Freeze held a jam in his honor here in Vegas, was Great! You know I'm a friend of The Jacksons, and I do believe Whitney Houston's first cut was "Take Good Care of My Heart" duet with Jermaine Jackson on his Jermaine album. Great Arista release that featured "Dynamite" and "Tell Me I'm Not Dreaming" with Michael(God Bless). We are losing too many Greats lately. Thanks for all the Jamz! Be Well Brotha!
Trapped by Colonel Abrams is one of my favorite videos from the eighties. Mainly for the robotic clapping before he sings, and awesome facial expressions throughout.

@bastlake How embarassing. I thought for sure he and Gilda were both gone. My bad. The world is a better place with him in it.

The late great Gene Wilder? I didn't know he passed.
Motown turned out very few pic sleeves in the '60's and early '70's. they command top dollar now.
