  • I wonder if you know that a lot of classic house music (I can't today's house music) took a lot of music and vocal samples from hip hop/ rap songs. And vice versa (Rob Base "Get on the Dance Floor" for instance). Maybe you can do a video devoted to that.

  • @Durermac That's "I can't stand today's house music" Gives me a headache.

  • 02:08 ->02:24 .. (doesn't miss a beat! Amazing!) was I the only one that noticed that?

  • yeah man! Do some lectures or run a class or get on some talk show radio!

  • Shela E was a hot mama wooooo

  • I need a fix . . . .I'm illing for some FUNK! Can I get a witness?

  • Funk wheres the funk?

  • Glad to see you found the Commodores, Mary Jane Girls, and Freddie Jackson sleeves.

  • Thank you for the response. An, Have you check the sample for "Ghetto Dreams" I thinks its uses the Intro to "I need a new drug" from Hewie Lewis & The News

  • Come on Funk .... You do not like Aretha Franklin - Jump To It? (Written by Luther Vandross by the way)

  • @Baltimoreman78 I really do like it actually.but I wasn't thinking of it at the time because I was thinking about picture sleeves. Plus, I always think of that song as disco and keep it filed in the 70s disco box. Classic Luther.

  • Hey Funktuall, this is DJThunder1970 back in 89 when HUGO came to Charlotte,NC I didn't have power for 3 weeks. You know you should teach this in college, or at least have a show on Sirius/XM Radio. Give them a call what could it hurt. Look dude you obviously have what it takes to build an audience why dont you quit funkin around and go national.Get paid to have fun and teach at the same time, like picture pages.Peace!

  • The only channel I come to and Like before watching...I already know whats up!

  • Not even a hurricane can stop the funk!

  • Nice vid, keep vinyl alive bro

  • R.I.P. Nicholas Ashford/Teena Marie!! Thank you for posting/honouring our music history-seeing this on Labour Day-hope your power is back on! Appreciate tracks from Krush Groove/Fletch-Sheila E sounded just like Lyn Collins in the second half of Holly Rock. Gotta hand it to you for posting interesting stuff even without the actual songs!! No hate mail, but "Freeway of Love" kicks ass on the dancefloor then, and now, and kept Aretha & Narada Michael Walden alive in the 80s!!! DAVEDJ

  • Good stuff, Funktuall!

  • Hope you made it through the outage alright. Too bad your records during that time were only for looking.

  • Highly recommend checking out Boards of Canada's remix of 'Trapped'. Absolutely sick.

  • cheers from down under funk love all the vids and the knowledge-good vibes good vibes good vibes haha ;)

  • GENE WILDER ISN'T DEAD

  • got batteries for the camera but no batteries for a portable turntable? Priorities!!!! I love you DJ Funktual

  • Gene Wilder is still alive.

  • Gene Wilder lives! He just hasn't done anything since his Will & Grace bit parts

  • @bastlake How embarassing. I thought for sure he and Gilda were both gone. My bad. The world is a better place with him in it.

  • nice to see you back in business!

  • Now didn't it feel good to do a nice calm relaxing video?

  • What up Funk! Just wanted to thank you for giving me Jimmy Castor's number. Mr. Freeze held a jam in his honor here in Vegas, was Great! You know I'm a friend of The Jacksons, and I do believe Whitney Houston's first cut was "Take Good Care of My Heart" duet with Jermaine Jackson on his Jermaine album. Great Arista release that featured "Dynamite" and "Tell Me I'm Not Dreaming" with Michael(God Bless). We are losing too many Greats lately. Thanks for all the Jamz! Be Well Brotha!

  • That new Footloose is going to suck along with the new Dirty Dancing. Hollywood is ruining my childhood!

  • Hey, man, I'm just glad that you're alright. That Irene is a pain in the butt! No joke!

  • Don't you have a wind-up VW bus that will play a record?

  • "She look more like Freddie Jackson!" haha funny man I seriously thinking that before you even said it! haha

  • The late great Gene Wilder? I didn't know he passed.

Motown turned out very few pic sleeves in the '60's and early '70's. they command top dollar now.

  • u have the best collection and i bet it would be awesome just to go thru ur collection

  • Trapped by Colonel Abrams is one of my favorite videos from the eighties. Mainly for the robotic clapping before he sings, and awesome facial expressions throughout.
