@2439733 ye...she is clearly deluded...I've seen Christians go into a transe before...not a pretty sight...mind you I've seen girls at the Hollywood bowl screaming..(on telly) and it was more fun than a catholic mass.
I Think Lennon Its One Guy That Will Never Ofent A Religion He Was A Respectful Guy He Whant Peace!! And I Agree Whit Him Peace Is What This World Need. And I Think The Beatles Are More Famouse Than Jessus. We Dont Have Proof Of Jessus And Lennon Would Be The Antricrist Come On People Beatles For Ever!!!!
Hypocritical Americans. While they burn the beatles records for stating the they were GREATER than Jesus, they also water hosed, lynched negroes in the south.
I agree and I disagree. Some changes can be done for the better as shown by Martin Luther King,Jr. Nobody ever could´ve imagines that the south would reach such a degree of integration between whites and blacks.
It was a noble thing, but along with integration it brought other rather negative things (sadly). Such as the Creation of radical black panthers and the KKK. East vs West Gangs (Crips and Bloods?) Some African Americans have sadly disentigrated into terrible gangs similar to Caucasian gangs (Bikers, Mafia, Mobsters). Everytime you improve something it brings something worse, resulting in a state where there will never be peace.
@Dmasterman ye...but you cannot compare KKK and Black Panthers. KKK ruthless killers, degenarate white mongrels...close to 1775 freemassons and CIA/FBi...Black panthers a liberation movement even if close to arms struggle/gorilla have noble aim. CIA killed the lot...it killed LENNON and it mashed up black rebellion. Malcolm X not the monster white supremacist made out he was. Both King and X paid a price.
@PoireauMan68 Black panthers CLAIM to be a liberation movement, and claimed to allow all races. That is not really correct. Panthers have bullied people and have claimed to go on WARS against people for being racist. In fact, Panthers appeared in front of voting polls with knight sticks as if to threaten people who didn't vote for Obama. YEAH real liberation right? Nah, they're just the black KKK.
what's the relation with Obama and the Black Panthers?...I am surprised they even parade and intimidate people in that way. I was referring to the old original PANTHERS not the Farrakhan bollocks...peace
@PoireauMan68 He's half black. Many blcks wanted him in because it may be the closest thing to a real black guy getting into office. Also the "Old" panthers, created that whole liberation black power thing as a blanket for their own power struggle. They believed THEY were the dominate race. The whole "liberation act was really just a show to make it look like they weren't the black KKK. They were always the black KKK. They just haven't existed as long as them.
@brurriene This is true to an extent. Martin Luther King's achievements can't be undermined, but a lot of areas in the north and south are still segregated. It's just been replaced by a de facto segregation.
@lifestraight I don't think his belief in God or Jesus Christ undermines what he accomplished while here on earth. I don't see how that'd be a problem at all.
@lifestraight accepting the idea as god as a superior spirit is demeaning. + GOD in the west a punisher/man a sinner...not like other religions says Hindus and guys like that worship other stuff...not the idea that you're bad once you're dead you go to Heaven, only 8 year old children believe that. I never understood why a majority of black people have to be believers too. KING got slained cos' he got too big, he was very political but had never reflected on non-believers or atheists. He accept
@PoireauMan68 Majority of Black people? You say it as if they have less reason to believe than any other race. But this isn't something isolated to Blacks. The majority of Whites, Indonesians, and others are believers as well. America was founded on Christianity.
As far as accepting the idea of God as being demeaning, then so is accepting the idea of a president, police officer, CEO, or any other position of power that exercises authority over a population.
What these guys are saying is true: The political script of the Nixon administration has been the same during the Bush administration. The difference between today and thirty-five years ago is that there were so very few public icons with huge popularity who were willing to say anything. Now many voice their opinion, which is great. Thanks to people like John Lennon and George Harrison and Ringo Starr who held the first Rock Concert Charity back in 1971 [Concert for Bangla Desh].
that was cool. the clip about people being pissed off he said they were more popular than jesus, wow so pathetic comon, ok so he got a little caught up in the beatles mega fame, hes not burning churchs, these southern baptists and shit banning the beatles "thier gettin more better than uh, jesus himself"...first speach proper english then i'll get back to you. yea i know its all past lol but still pisses me off watching those clips. and im a huge catholic.
I think it was a flub like Gore and his whole "Get (us) stuck in Iraq" joke. I always figured he meant something more along the lines of "Jesus was provoking the establishment then, now Jesus is the establishment and we're provoking it." But that's just me.
I think john was right when he said the beatles were more popular than jesus, he was stating the present truth in the 1960's. i wasnt around when the beatles were at the height of their reign but i am aware of the beatlemania period and can understand the huge following they had developed and the impact the beatles had on young people, girls especially. i don't know of any other people who could pack venues and make teenagers leave puddles in their seats, but i'm sure jesus couldnt.vvv or ^^^
to young people the beatles became an obsession and for a short time in history, religion took a back seat. this was the 60's, the greatest period in my opinion, of music. just a classic example of words being taken out of context by the media, but you can also see that it was served to them on a platter. the beatles and the price of fame has been a lesson to all performers since.
I wouldnt doubt in my mind for a second that they would close in on him because the paranioa in The Nixon Adminstration is exaggerated now in The Bush Adminstration. Then, it was a musician/peace activist and now it can be anyone. The Patriot Act. Or as Bush likes to call it 'The Terroist Act'

John Lennon's idea of bringing "World Peace" is noble yet absolutely impossible. World Peace is a lie, a fictional belief of i.magination.
