It's interesting that for some festivals in Venice, many locals leave town because of the crowds. And I read (I think in National Geographic) that rubber boots are just part of life in Venice since floods are common. What a beautiful city!

@BusaboutTV True! I just read that there's never been high water between June and August. The season is September to April with most occurrences between October and December. Well, I'm glad you're having a super time in Venice, it's a great opportunity to see a truly unique city.
