Racked it wrong and when you chalked your stick and then blew on it... That defeats the purpose of even chalking your stick.

@BretPriebe actually for league play he racked them right. also, blowing the excess chalk away is actually something you should do.

dont blow on the cue,droplets stick on it and the hit ratio is reduced....

7ft is big enugh for home use. Remember you need a place of 4-5ft from every wall.
8ft may be to difficult, when you invite your friends who never played before.
