To explain my previous comment... The brainwashing machine works both ways. The corporate powers that be have to keep everyone scared of something. If you are not scared of terrorists, then they have to convince you that the sky is falling somehow. Terrorism, and man caused global warming, are both designed to grab power and money, nothing else. You protesters out there are just as brainwashed as the "support our troops" marchers, and don't you forget it.
Coal has such a wretched history and an unbelievably nasty lingering trail of long term destruction of any environment it meets. Acid rain, acidification of streams and rivers from abandoned mines, collapsing ground beneath homes and disruption of springs and streams, mercury pollution in massive numbers of lakes and streams, open scars where old strip mines once were, massive piles of tipple at the site of mines. Before you defend coal, visit a state where it is/was mined.
