Beautiful knife, I for one love the idea of the leather sheath. And when I do purchase my knife, I'll replace the krayton with wood or some other natural material.
Great blade for sure, but the guard came loose on mine and I wished it came with a secureEX sheath instead of the leather one. Also, Slabs of G10 or micarda would have been better for the handle as water get in under the kraton.
I went to order one...temporarily out of stock. When do you expect more in? I really like that knife, always wanted one. Thanks for posting cool videos!
I really would like to have a Trail Master, but I bought a Recon Scout (the smaller version of the Trail Master) and it is crooked. There is an angle between the blade and the handle and I just hate that, no matter whether it influences the functionality of the knife or not. Because of that I decided to only buy big fixed blades with an exposed tang between mircata grips in the future, like on the TOPS knifes. I hope that reduces the chance of getting a crooked knife.
i am glad to see this model making a comeback and with a better sheath no less (the leather was nice but not as practical). But to be honest, I would go to my Gurkha kukri for a big task rather than the Trailmaster.
@Say0n This is absolutely a great all around camp knife. You won't go wrong with it for that purpose. The Junglass would be another excellent choice. I don't have as much experience with the recon but I am sure it is good too. Of those three you have a tough choice. In such a case I recommend getting all three. Call Knives Town and we'll see about putting together a package deal on them.
@Pyro7502 With a blade that long you need to have a sure grip on the handle as it will be exerting blade heavy leverage as you hold it and work with it. A slightly narrow handle allows your fingers to make a complete circle and fully enclose the handle which makes for a more positive lock. A wider handle could leave a hand unable to fully encircle it, leaving a gap where the fingers and thumb do not meet which is a weak spot. The wider top and bottom ensure retention in the hand while using.
Another great video review :)

@hohldk I take exception to that. I paid a full $1.18 at the second hand store for that shirt. A little respect please.

@hohldk Who comes on to a knife description video to talk about shirts?

do you think the handle part of the steel is too narrow? I find that problem with the Ka Bar
