  • U2 >>>>>> Madonna and her talentless whores.

  • wow, epic, if i have to explain why thats amazing you just dont get it

  • Just goes to show that you don't have to use flashy crappy costumes and choreography to have a great halftime show.

  • The superbowl needs to get back to shows like this. Madonna, lmfao, and black eye peas have no talent compared to these guys.

  • Nothing better.....

  • LEGENDARY IS RIGHT!!! =)))

  • Now THIS is a halftime show, my god. This gave me chills.

  • Yes....it's the greatest halftime show ever! It united us in ways we need to Remember again!!!!!

  • Based on the Madonna train wreck 1/2 time show of Super Bowl XLVI, this show is still king (and probably always will be).

  • Esta es una de las canciones que mas me gusta que U2 toque en vivo, siempre es inolvidable!

  • NO ONE CAN TAKE OUR PRIDE

  • wow, the power of music...what a transcendent song, performance and band!

  • Another shameless self promoter

  • incredible such as life ReJoyce61

  • Thanks to the boys from Dublin who helped bring our country together in the aftermath of 9/11. Truly a great video

Thumbs up if Bono revealing the flag under his jacket gave you goosebumps or made you cry. I did both.

  • this video should have the bare minimum of 100,000,000 views

  • BONO IS A FAME WHORE!!

  • @vorevox Yes, and?

  • best dam super bowl half time show yet

  • Yup...I needed this...

  • each year i watch this, and each year i still cry. the beginning guitar solo makes me want to raise my arms to the heavens and shout out GLORIAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, such a sad day today, I need this

  • “Lord, open my lips that my mouth may sing forth your praise.”

  • The American Flag in his jacket still gives me chills.

  • Of all the tributes...this is my favorite. It is so sad to see how far down our country has gone since this tribute was done.

  • Sleep sleep tonite.RIP... hope bin laden is tucked up nicely in HELL..fuckin prick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I get chills watching that. Too bad that became the place of our next national tragedy. :(

  • Best half time show. Simple perfection.

  • This brings tears to my eyes.

  • I was watching this with a couple buddies who are both vets, we knew they were going to do something, but this came up, the whole room went silent, at the end, standing ovation...

  • I hope that something is done at the 2012 Super Bowl for the 10 year remembering, Listen up Indianapolis and the NFL commission. It means the same now as 10 years ago.

  • CELEBRATE LIFE today... and THANK EVERYONE who makes it possible!!!

  • And somewhere down in that crowd on the field is my sister and me. The energy was amazing that night.

  • Everytime I see this performance, it brings a tear to me eye. - NEVER FORGET!

  • Looks like there may be 7 members of al Qaeda out there.

  • 9.11. A beautiful day now. A day where we remember and recognize each other. Any setbacks, we move forward! Every name on that list is a name dear to our hearts.

  • One of the most amazing things I've ever seen.

  • WAt good people

  • Will always be the best half time show....ever. I REALLY hope they come back this year and do something similar.

  • If you watch the first 2 minutes without getting goosebumps, it doesn't mean you don't like U2, but rather that you're "UN-AMERICAN"!!

  • YouTube, you must keep this one! Very poignant and uplifting at the same time!

  • thank u chemwaste for understanding

  • This video still gives me chills. beautiful tribute.

  • My mother (Florence Cohen) died in the South Tower on 9/11 and I never realized that her name was displayed at the Super Bowl. You just never know where life will lead you. Thank you for sharing this video.

  • @ReJoyce61 I am so sorry to hear you lost your mother in the south tower. I lost my father in the Vietnam War when i was only 7 months old. Might not be the same but I can relate to how you are feeling. God bless you.

  • @ReJoyce61 Im sorry to hear that, but know your mother didnt die in vain. Her life and everyone that died that day will live with all of us.

  • @ReJoyce61

God bless her soul! Sorry for your loss :(

  • @ReJoyce61 Saying "I'm sorry for your loss" seems so trite and meaningless, but you're in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you've been able to find some peace after such a horrific event.

  • The best superbowl half time performance by any band and the only performance to completely out shine the super bowl... This performance sealed U2 the biggest band in the world..

  • NO halftime show before or after this will be as powerful, as emotional....as brilliant as this one

  • @ron042704 - I'm so sorry to hear that man, and this might be an incredibly insensitive thing to ask, but was their names up on that screen? :/ I feel for your loss, and I must be honest and say that it's very hard for me to see this clip, because it brings me back to a time that's very difficult for anyone in the western world .. Hopefully we won't have to go through it again, any one of us ..

  • Around 3000 died at 9/11 ten years ago. In the same period 30.000 children died of starvation EVERY SINGLE DAY since.

  • @Janus781204 okay.

  • I will never forget 9-11-2001. We as one cried and watched The news. RIP Fallen Heros

  • Still tear up now...lost a classmate and her sister.

  • I remember being there. I lost a friend in 9/11, and seeing this made me cry.

  • this is fuckin amazing i bet it was awesome to be there witnessing this first hand!!

  • Still brings tears to my eyes!

  • Hard to believe that is been almost 10 yrs since some many bright stars were suddenly darkened! Let us learn from our past so that we will grow into even more greatness as a nation....Let us NEVER forget, NEVER stop learning and NEVER stop our quest for peace around the world... we owe that to our children!!

  • All other Super Bowl halftime shows can kiss my ass.

  • @gclure True that

  • @IPeverell You're right, anyone who gets turned off by sanctimonious patriotic displays doesn't deserve to live here.

  • vote democrat!!! RIP 9/11 victims, go America!

  • 6:20 - Bono applauds himself.

  • i bet the seven ppl tht dislike this video or any video of this arent americans

  • @MrDbtx probably muslim

  • Go U2, Go PAtriots, GO AMERICA!!!!!!

  • I have watched this video many times before and I had never realized the significance of the banner with all the names. Once the banner reached it limit with all the names on it, it came crashing down a la the towers. I am absolutely overwhelmed with emotions once again.

  • 47.086 views?! well I know I'm about 40.000 of them.

  • cant beat that crowd -:)

  • Still one of my favorite Super Bowl Halftime shows.

  • One of the greatest American moments in sports, screw the 7 people who dislike this video

  • @MavericksFB61 amen

  • This has to be one of the best moments in Television history. U2's symbolic guesture that "we're all Americans" was true class. God Bless the USA and those who stand with us.

  • how many people cried when they watched this? I know I cried like a baby. Still brings tears to my eyes now :'(

  • @RUDEGOOD the head of those pieces of fucking shit is dead, fuck them, RIP those americans who lost their lives on 9/11, no matter how bad the economy gets or how bad anything gets, for the rest of my life ill look to those heros on 9/11 and our troops as motovation to do anything, and will eternely remember those who we lost on that day, when i was 6, which was also my brothers first birthday, let us not remember tht day for the cowards who attacked us, but for the way our country stood togethe

  • I don't care what team you normally root for, the underdog PATRIOTS winning the Super Bowl that year was powerful.

  • President Bush said the attack came from a faceless coward....he isnt faceless anymore, and he has a bullet hole in his head!! God Bless OUR Homeland and those who proudly defend it! HOOOAHHH

  • Bin Laden is gone!

  • See what our Goverment did...they killed all those people

  • @Midnightryder7 Heartless cunt

  • @blueflame1258 Heartless cunt my ass 911 was an inside job

  • @Midnightryder7 You need to get out of your mommy's basement and get some air.

  • @da40flyer1 911 was an inside job along with the help of Bin Laden

  • I agree, they were cowards!! God Bless the USA!! I still want to know,....why we just cant bomb these people and keep our troops intact, so sad that we dont GET IT!

  • I agree, they were cowards!! God Bless the USA!!

  • the best half time show ever and wil never be duplicated such a powerfull show

  • "Sleep with the angels on your clouds, Dream, Dream" 911 touched everyone of all ages. I remember I was about 10 I watched it on the NEWS before school. I sat and cried with my mom & dad. My cousins are serving in the war. I thank everyone who has given their lifes for us Americans & the ones who died. I know the feeling. America was in morning. I know I didn't know anyone on those planes or builds. BUT my heart goes out to you. u2 makes me proud to be part irish ^ ^ socal

  • Being able to be serve along side of some of the greatest people I have ever known, NYPD, FDNY, EMS, PAPD and others. I will always be grateful to them and their selfless service. Those great Americans renewed my faith in humanity, after it was almost entirely erased. God bless to all the victims, their surviving family and friends and to all of us for coming together. Now with the 10th anniversary coming up, PLEASE LET US NEVER FORGET. and thank you U2 and other bands being there for us!

  • @RUDEGOOD RIGHT ON BROTHER! RIGHT ON! The events of that day will forever be engrained inour generation's "pscyhe" like Pearl Harbor or when JFK was assassinated, were to our parents and grandparents. While we witnessed the horrid cowardly evils some people can inflict on others, we also witnessed how people can amazingly come together and watch each others' backs. I know this personally, for I had the honor to serve our country as a 9-11 first responder for a month in NYC, .

  • America...never forget....NEVER FORGET!!!!!!

  • America...never forget....

  • U2 = class act. All the way

  • @RUDEGOOD You sir, are a true American.

  • ...

  • 9/11 was a setup but this was a very good tribute

  • @777BMWfan1 lol

  • This video gives me chills from start to finish. The first time i saw him open his jacket to show the stars and stripes i was on the verge of tears. Truly amazing

  • atouching tribute to al lof these angels that were murdered on 9/11.as a canadian that worked with United I was devestated by this senseless act of terrorism. If this was a johad why wasnt Osama on the planes?Abig thank you to U2 for giving credit to the victoms of 9/11,May those that were killed that day rest in peace.

  • I love U2 for this. I know this song wasn't written for this event but i loved it. This is the first time I watch this and I found myself crying in the middle of this song. A great tribute to everyone who died in the 9/11 attacks. God bless America

  • One of the best moments ever, in Tribute of those who innocently lost their lives because some people don't like the way we live ours... God Bless U2!

  • How could 6 people hate this, thats like spitting in the face of the people who died on 9/11

  • @joepoe1134

don't even waste time on trash like those people, just enjoy the performance and remember how we were touched by this performance, and how, no matter what kind of human trash that inhabits this earth, like the people who did that attack, there will ALWAYS be more good people who will stand up to that...

if you look at my page, you will see that most of my posts are inflammatory and downright messed up, but seeing your post made me have to give a real reply :)

    take care!

  • @poops1, trust me man im not gona waste my time with it, and i really did enjoy the proformance, thats one way to honor the memory of those who lost their lives that horrible day. human trash is everywhere man, its not hard to see where it is, just look outside and im sure u will find some. thats true there will always be more good people who will stand up.

i did man and holy crap and i feel bad that they have been posting that on ur wall, u did give me a real reply, thank u

    take care also

  • Legendary

  • For all mankind

  • bush did not do 9/11

  • @wheelzwheela OIL, thats all i have to say

  • bush did 9/11

  • II went from Black eyed Peas to this..... no comparison

  • Mr, Bono, even tho you are not from America, you are one amazing person who cares to be an amarican. you Are AMAZING, and your band mates are America Amazing TOoo

  • U2 forever..

  • best half time show ever!!!!!!

  • Hmm good question. As far as I know Michael Jackson attracted the most viewing figures for a superbowl performance by far< I guess thats to be expected.

  • greatest halftime show ever!!!

  • Now, Why were people throwing cups?

  • I just can't believe, that in this just passed superbowl they invited black eyed peas.

It was just the worst half time show ever. and it will remain like that.

  • @ccgp13 it is gonna stay like that...it was awful

  • It's refreshing to see musical talent - people playing their own instruments, with the creativity to write their own songs, and sing them; unlike Nigger wannabe Chistine Aguilera and talentless Black Eyes Peanutheads!!!

  • You've gotta be pretty unpatriotic to press dislike.

  • I'm Australian and i can still remember that day.It was devastating and this was a great tribute to those people who were lost on that tragic day.

  • Fuck those fucking terrorist thats why i play call of duty to kill all those motherfuckers!

  • Only time I ever cried during a halftime show. Goosebumps- totally speechless.

  • Now this is a halftime show, not that black eyed peas crap.

  • THE MOST powerful superbowl halftime show

  • Biggest Rock Band On THE PLANET!!!!

  • This show made me cry....

  • Not a fan of u2. Bono especially seems to be a narcissist prick.. Not sure if he really did it for memory or for the fame of it all..

  • @HaloRainRogers Why does a doctor save lives? Why do cops protect people? Does it really matter what someones motives are if what they do is positive?

  • @DanotheSnitch. No.Doctors and cops GET PAID for what they do.

  • @HaloRainRogers dude you have your opinion but i dont beleive that i plan to grow up and do law enforcement but people like you make me sick thinking that people only save lives for money

  • @HaloRainRogers That's my point man if a doctor saves your life you don't care he is only doing it to get paid. Bono raises money to save tens of thousands of lives in African and there are people alive that to his actions that otherwise would be dead so does it really matter that he is only doing it to feed his ego?

  • @DanotheSnitch Its not so much 'I care'. Its more a fact. Doctors and cops do what they do because of a salary.

  • @DanotheSnitch Yes it does. Its not what you do that makes you who you are.. but the manner in which you do it..

  • I remember watching this live during the super bowl halftime show and i have not seen anything more breathtaking when it comes to music in my life.

  • Bono is amazing...he even made a 9/11 tribute seem self serving and smug.

  • @EvilPlipster I don't understand how people say that, look at their modest stage and the massive monument to 9/11 how is that egotistical?

  • I remember watching this when I was 8 years old. I was the biggest Rams fan ever and cried after seeing my team lose by 3. However, what I remembered most from that night was this incredible halftime show.

    Proud to be an American.

  • Im crying cause this is so sweet of them to write a song for the 9/11 victims my frnds gradma was in one of the towers

  • @haliemarie94 ummm this song wasnt written for september 11th. It was Written WAY before that HORRID day occured

  • @haliemarie94 written for MLK Many years go God Bless your Grandma

  • When he opened his jacket and showed the flag under it...I have not habd goose bumps like that for a LONG time.

  • @ImThePutz and ppl tried to say he abused the american flag BS it was the best show ever in america from the best Irish band ever,, they have been thru a lot too

  • Never ever will/can this event ever be justified, its a shock and scary to think there are people out there that felt that it was necessary! Religion and money can do some strange things to people but still doesn't make it OK

  • FUCKIN MUSLIMS

  • Wow, Amazing.

  • U2 forever.

  • who are the two idiots who gave a thumbs down on this?

  • @junk5707

some fucking muslims who probably thought america deserved it. Scary to think there are people like that.

  • this is the shit
