  • you have some great stuff here

  • love the video man

  • So how much electricity does the thing use (a computer with "power on" is needed I suppose). Is´nt there any more down to earth simple sollution that actually doesent use computers or electronics..

  • @ifthebeltiscrackedor ... yes there is this is a old video one of the first I ever posted ... you can find the latest tracker on greenwatts.info click the tracker #4 link ... we have the LM339 circuit which tracks and resets automatically and can be modified to drive larger motors/actuators with relays thanks to scottymac ( see the visitors comments section)

  • what is the operating temperature for this. It gets to -40c here.

  • it uses the Sun to power itself as it tracks the Sun!!!

  • Comment removed

  • 20 people scrape thyr diks on the sidewalk

  • What's the point of this system? Reading the specs it uses more power than most solar panels you can fit on this can generate.. I don't get it.

  • yeah right that cost 12 bucks if you made it your self mabey but buying that in a store fuckk off

  • @coosse It says in the description that he built it himself for $12 and spare parts, not bought it from a store. It's OK to Troll, but don't be a stupid Troll. And it's maybe, not mabey. When you post comments like this you yell to the world, "I'm a dumb ass!" So why don't YOU fuck off. See, fuck has one k. Stupid Troll.

  • orcslayer006... Well first off i was just flicking through video's and im so sorry i didnt care to look at the discription box... You must really not have a life going nuts at me on youtube calling me a troll? I mean seriously mate... and by the looks of your name and your use of the words calling me a troll your a fucking WoW FREAK.Im about to roll a spliff and go and see my gourgus girlfriend, You should think about doing the same too.

    You utter Prick.

  • @coosse I didn't go nuts, I just treated you like the Troll that you are. You felt the need to tell the video poster to fuck off when your too stupid to read the description. Have you messaged the poster to apologize for your comment? Of course you didn't. You were too high to realize what a dick you were. Go get high so you can dwell on what I've said and maybe you'll have an epiphany. And no, I don't play WoW or any other computer games. And obviously, from our comments, we're BOTH pricks.

  • @orcslayer006 You dont give up do you? I didnt mean fuck off in a merlishious way at all i ment it as in fuckk off man no way, whats the point of commenting on my comment trying to start up a youtube stupidid dispute theres no point lol and how am i a dick im not some 18 year old stupid little stoner kid i enjoy my cannabis every now and again even though i really shouldnt do it, so before you wright think and yes i cant spell.

  • Wonder how many solar panels it would take to power a UV light...that would then shine on the solar panel creating electricity to power the UV Light.

    Infinite electricity...till the bulb breaks.

  • @ukffphoenix Energy will be lost as heat. Plus there is not much point producing a light that's purpose is to deliver all its light energy back into the solar panel lol

  • @ukffphoenix the sun is a pretty good light

  • I looked at the website and noticed that I think in every case the controller (including computer) uses more power than the solar panel makes. Not terribly practical.

  • If you cannot be bothered to put an audio description of your product with this videoI cannot be arsed to click on the link..........dull, and as about informative as a piece of sandstone.

  • If you cannot be bothered to put an audio description of your product with this videoI cannot be arsed to click on the link..........

  • Looks like you have mounted a solar cell onto a stepper motor.

The circuit board in the back is the stepper motor driver board connected to your PC's parallel port, and you contol it by pressing buttons on your PC keyboard?

Any thoughts on making it automatic aiming w/o external power supply?

  • How do you feel solar panel technology will improve with Solar Collection Advancement? I thought I heard the NASA Program Technology is far better than what is being 'Made' Publicly Available? I also wonder what the True -Cost of Manufacturing- is on one of these?? Is it Really PUBLIC Knowledge?

I was told the wind turbine grids are a Hoax/Non Efficient, as well Climate Gate was a big Carbon Tax Scam

  • Your title is misleading. That doesn't cost $12.00.

  • Brilliant

    What is the load limit?

Im looking at a build of a solar cooking trough / salt water still still close to 15lbs

    Billy

    Tacoma, Wa.

  • are you making this - is this for sale - for $ 12 ? ---

or -- where can I buy this ? is this solar for the lights - lamps only - or

    for computer ..?

  • @alicenami ..... greenwatts.info is where you can get the plans ... I do not build these for sale ...

  • @alicenami Tracker is the subject, not the solar pane

  • Very nice! Thanks for posting this!

  • Very clever....

  • Very much state-of-the-art, however I built a tracker which can carry heavy arrays, and made it using old car parts; the sensor has only five parts, including the relay, and it takes about 6 watts of power whenever it moves. No computer, no PLCs. Please take a look.

  • @eltunene wow! did I read right- no computer? I was gonna sacrifice one of my computer to make one but now thanks to you. GBU Where can I see it?

  • this might be just me......but i know your increasing the efficency of the solar panel by 40 percent by tracking....but how much enargy are you gaining when weighed against the energy your using powering the computer to run this??

  • @jamiejeffrey05 depends. you may need to have your computer up everytime because o what you do or you can port it for a small microprocess like an arduino nano for a little energy trade

  • I see that PC!

That's crap! If you need a separate machine to run it, it is nothing but a printer!

    Anyways, cool looking, kinda jerky.

    Good job!

  • Stepper motors are used in harddrives and robotics, a properly driven stepper is neither jerky nor violent such as this, and someone tells me to learn?

  • This actually works. I tried building home solar panels and I was amazed by how easy it is. You can run your house with free electricity. If you want full step by step guide on how to build home made solar panels, click my channel.

  • @DIYSOLARPANELS i would but you accounts suspended =P

  • how much weight would these designs be able to move effectively ?

  • a few people have adapted the designe to multi panel trackers ... you can get upto 5" ABS fitting which will hold a massive amount of weight...

  • Hello helpmonkey, Great vid,

is it possible to build a multi tracker to hold says 100 lbs weight under $50?

  • I would say yes if you used recycled materials for the electronics and motors. The ABS fittings are not very expensive.

  • how it will track sun without computer and reset its position at every morning?

  • The canuckle 2 uses the sunswitch to track and reset. TYou could adapt the sunswitch to the canuckle 1 very easily to give it full function without a computer connection

  • Oh, disregard my crap comment... sorry, just saw that it can stand alone. How about the jerkiness?

  • It's called a stepper motor, not jerkiness. Read up on what they are to understand why the system works like this.

  • @kwakman99 thanks for posting my friend, now can you please tell me where I could read more

  • @alienpatentoffice If you are refering about Stepper motors, just google it to get a ton of details about how they work. If you are talking about this particular project, go to the website listed in the video discription ww w(dot)greenwatts(dot)info

  • Nice job. Recycling at its best!

I've put up a video response showing an alternative method for those without the computing/interfacing skills. Not as good as yours, but functional nevertheless.

    Kind regards, Geoff.

  • I have designed a Canuckle #2 solar tracker that uses a Sun Switch (another design of mine) which is very simple to build and requires no computer interface... you can check it out on greenwatts

  • dont let the bastards get your domain name

  • Nice job Buddy, nice job.

  • where did you get it at???

  • Are there plans available? - and could this be scaled up to control larger panels?

  • its appears to be hooked to a computer... did that cost twelve dollars too??

  • Yes it is hooked up to a computer ... P2 with linux ... and no it was not $12 I got it for FREE ... lol

  • do you have a price list for all the parts? or did most of it come second hand?

  • all the ABS fittings you can purchase from any plumbing or reno store... the gears, stepping motor and stepper control chip, cable and connectors are from scrapped inkjet printer.

  • lol

  • its not posted on the greenwatts ... waiting for the control software to be finished ... then I wil put the plans back up

  • where did you get this ? I can't find it on the cloud.

    Thanks in advance:)
