  • where's Mike??? LOL

  • Pants

  • Great stuff!

  • Sammy Hagar is still rocking my freaking world!!! I loved Montrose, but I love Chickenfoot more!!! Sammy is still looking good!!!

  • Sammy looks like Roger Daltrey and Robert Plant combined.

  • such a shame.....after the megalomaniac that was Montrose sacked Sammy they did nothing anywhere 'near' as good again !!!

  • Sammy Hagar is Chuck Norris's brother

  • this just kicks fucking ass

  • Sammy and Ronnie are the men! :)

  • I wonder where that drumhead is now?!

  • 26 people are mad because they figured out "scooter" really means "motorcycle" and not the thing they've been riding with the flower decals & basket on the front.

  • I didn't know Roger Daltrey was in Montrose!

  • Jesus, Bill Church was a monster rock bass player....awesome lines!!!

  • @TeenCretin That's actually Quentin Tarantino in a wig. He has a time machine. (It is a badass bass part, though :)

  • Seen Sammy at Winterland in 76 Red tour. Tagged along with some older kids, forever changed. Cruisen and boosin out with some friends of mine

  • Everybody's talkin at me

  • 25 people don't want to ride their bad motor scooter.

  • These guys are SO underrated!

  • Yeah man. Back when it was alright to be white.

  • Saw them in concert when I was a kid. Now that I'm an old guy, Bad Motor Scooter makes my Vette go fast, but Space Station #5 makes it go really fast. Hagar, back then know as Sam, owes it big time to Ronnie.

  • HAPPY B DAY SAMMY !!

  • I havent felt chills up my back from music for a while and this cut shows me what Ive been missing !

  • awesome solo !

  • Ronnie Montrose - 2011 Tour - comes to Dallas, TX - Poor David's Pub on Friday, October 7 - go to Poor David's website for ticket info!

  • Actually this is Sammy Hagar with Montrose. It was Ronnie's band and Sammy was the lead singer.........and a fine one at that!! Montrose rocked on many tunes with Sammy!!

  • Sammy - Fontana's #1 son.

  • Ronnie is one of my favorites of all time.

  • This is the guy sammy learned to play from

  • Absolutely superb stuff. I've been listening to Montrose since I was 14 and still love them to this day - 27 years later! Everyone I mention them to has never heard of them which is strange because they are just a brilliant rock and roll band.

  • whats up with that star guy i see at the beginning of most promo/music vids on youtube?

  • VERY underrated!

  • Gary Shea on bass?

  • @rallyivan1234 Nah, that's Bill Church on bass. Bill would jam with Sammy Hagar again during (the late 70's to mid 80's period of) Sammy's solo career.

  • @luv24real Thanks friend ;)

  • @rallyivan1234 Nah, that's Bill Church on bass. Bill would jam with Sammy Hagar again during (the late 70's to mid 80's period of) Sammy's solo career.

  • @luv24real My pleasure, rallyivan1234! The first Montrose album is epic to me, so Im just into all the trivia about it. Rock on!!

  • @luv24real

    Bill Church, "The Electric Church"!

Saw Sammy at Winterland back in 77 I think. KSJO 10th Anniversary. That concert blew me away, and it happened to be my 1st. Some of the tracks on his RED album were recorded there.

50 years old now and still some of the best music ever made! Glad I was at the right place right time to have seen that show!

  • @bclark142 I envy you that you got to see Sammy Hagar with Bill Church on bass way back then. One-half of the original Montrose lineup, right there! You were indeed in the right place at the right time! I finally got to see Sammy with the Waboritas this year (2011), and they did a Montrose medley of "Bad Motor Scooter"/"Space Station #5"/"Rock Candy". When I saw Van Halen w/ Sammy back in '92, they did "Make It Last". Saw original Montrose drummer Denny Carmassi with Heart in 1985.

  • @luv24real

It's even better then that. Special guests included Ronnie Montrose, Neil Schon, Eddie Money. They all jammed together at one time along with Sammy. I was also under the influence of several "mind altering substances".

I would kill to relive that night. Very special indeed! =)

  • @bclark142 Wow, Ronnie Montrose, Bill CHurch, Sammy Hagar, Neil Schon, and Eddie Money all on the same stage the same night--and a good buzz on, to boot!! Bclark52, I sure don't blame you for wanting to relive a night like that one!

  • @bclark142

The tracks recorded there were for his live album All Night Long I believe.

  • why do we all put up with the crap that is offered for our aural pleasure for the last thirty years; real music crafted by real musicians with real attitude!!!!!!!

  • Electric Bill rippin it up

  • Amazing audio sound & sync for a video so old! Amazing song amazing representation!

    Thanks !!!! e

  • Awesome!

  • Pure Rock n Roll. Sexy and hard. Makes me want to give my honey pie a ride.

  • DRUMMERS SMASHING!

  • the bad thing is the shity stuff today they make more money

  • This is really just unbelievable!

  • Ronnie Montrose returns to Dallas, TX on Friday, October 7 @ Poor David's Pub. Check PDP website for ticket info.

  • i was 14 years old when this album came out...........everybody fuckin LOVED it!!!!!!!it still ROCKS!!!!!! bad motor scooter, rock candy, and all the other ones....HELL YES

  • 24 peeps do not get to ride!

  • Properfuckinmusic

  • the drrummer is denny carmassi who after montrose went on to play with heart.

  • this is one of those songs that you feel the need to take the corners a little bit faster. amazing how great rock and roll makes your soul feel good.

  • Real Rock n Roll great song Thankyou for posting

  • Hey folks, if you want to hear a retro band heavily influence by montrose, hagar then type in L.A. Ryder "We're the Outcasts" and hear some unreleased stuff fresh off of quarter inch analog reel!!

    rock on!!!!!!!!!

  • the drummer is Denny Carmasy

  • the Red Rocker is so skinnie here! lol

  • Montrose could have, should have been so huge! I guess Ronnie and Sammy couldn't see eye to eye on the direction the band should take. Too bad.

  • Is the drummer Steve Smith, who later was in Journey?

  • Ronnie has hair!

  • Pure Friggin Rock. No pretense, just hard rock, no apologies. I love it

  • A very young Sammy Hagar & the boys. Ronnie Montrose is great here!

  • O.o OMG they look like women...and sammy look soooo different thenw hen he was in vanhalen........oh I so wanna adulterate this song

  • love it!!! got the albums too. these guys ROCKED!

  • Two albums from this lineup but sh*t they had some memorable songs. Songs that lasted.

  • sam the man on fire. Now this how I remember the early days of Heavy Metal and not all this depressing Sab talk. I always enjoyed this kinda feel as it never makes me feel down. Bands like Slade, Nazareth, and Montrose all had awesome loud front men that few of us could emulate as kids. This piece of film is testament to what once was and God willing may come again. Pure power with lots of volume and balls. God bless you Sammy and Ronnie forever.

  • It breaks my heart that Montrose was a real dick to Hagar back in the day.

At least according to Sammy's book.

  • The real shit, baby!

  • Nice pants, Sammy! Seriously though, great tune.

  • Just found this precious music! IT IS GOOD

  • How sad is it this generation will never experience quality music and what effect will that have on them in later life ....aside form being toal social misfits of course ?

  • Denny Carmassi just drummed his ass off in every song/band he ever played.

  • No fag dancers, no explosions, no showbiz bullshit to cover up a lack of talent: just playing & singing by men who know how.

Let's see Bieber & Perry match it.

  • @AnnihilatingAngel fuckin A skippy!!!!! :)

  • @AnnihilatingAngel They wouldn't be able to top this performance but Sammy wouldn't be able to now either.

  • I absolutely love this !!!!!!!!!!

  • I still break the album alot!!!!

  • Awesome! No teen angst here just ROCK AND ROLL!

  • The definition of hard rock!!!!! Amen!!!!

  • @beebeef yeah buddy real rock n roll!!!!! Cj SA TX

  • Oh yeah -- the real stuff. Got me through. Many an air guitar pose, but many times a motivator minus any bullshit.

  • Always loved Montrose! My 10 yrs. older than me brother intro'd me when I was around 6!

  • this reminds me of hermosa beach

  • This the genuine article. No effects, synth, overdubbing, just great musicians. They didn't even need a second guitar. Kids should watch this so that they know what musicianship really is.

  • @beautyinbreakdowns2 Yes sir ree bob!! I started playing instruments in 1976 at a time when music was REAL. Glad I had the opportunity that most these kids will never know. If you wanted to be good, you practiced, not auto-tuned or search for tabs, you listened by ear and learned that shit!!

  • @beautyinbreakdowns2 They didn't need a second guitar player cause they had a Bassist that could really play a Bass...go figure. In total agreement with you....KIDS PAY ATTENTION!

  • @beautyinbreakdowns2 Dude, you sound like an old man. "Back in my day, we played 'Chew the bark off the Tree'. And we LIKED it!'"...

  • @beautyinbreakdowns2 I am a kid...

  • Sammy Hagar with Ronnie Montrose would be more correct.

  • This is what you call straight up Rock' Roll cira 1970s

  • sammy hagar is one of my fave musicians, no matter if with Montrose, Van Halen or solo. he is brilliant in his writing and performing, and an all around great guy. I got to meet him and his band "Chickenfoot" when they released their first album, and i am trying to wait patiently for the one currently being recorded. Straight up rock and roll is what Sammy is all about, and i love it!

  • Sammy looks so good in those pants!

  • Saw Montrose open up for KISS in 1976. I left after the first song of KISS. What a laugh... Paul Stanley whipped a chain of Lights that traced upward to the roof and B))M! BOOM! BOOM!

    Fuckin' EGO_Hype Shit KISS.

Ronnie Montrose Kicked ASS on Ace Freeley.

  • who are the 23 that do not like this video or song? Sorry if we interrupted your Justin Bieber dream!

  • Its spelled "Megadeth" and I've learned that in life there's no accounting for other people's tastes. I love thrash metal but I also love jazz, funk, classical anything with good songwriting. i know that Dave Mustaine of Megadeth and previously Metallica fame loves Montrose. Metallica actually covered this song very early on.

  • its funny to me how people who love iron maiden, judas priest, metallica, megadeath,, & whatever shitty metal/hair band you can think of from the 80's,,,,,,,, love old rock!.,,,bands of the 80's were mostly sellouts to get free pussy, drugs, alcohal,,,but 90 percent of bands of yesterday & today would do the same thing to be famous!,, blame the system, for the sorry state music is in today my god! motown & funk in the 70's was some of the best music! ever,,, today,,, black artists(cRAP,R&B) suck!

  • @deucesinger Amen, Brother........tell it like it tiz!!

  • ahahahahaa...THATS Sammy!....LMFAOoofffff!!!!

  • Saw Montrose open-up for The Who back in the day at Madison Square Garden.

  • @tat2jim Lucky stiff...lol

  • @MichaelIanHenry extremely lucky! It was the tour for Quadrophenia and my first time at MSG.

  • I consider Montrose one of those bands trying to take back what was originally American property. I love British rock but it always seemed, by a small percentage, pretend. Pretending to be like the greats of Rock n Roll.

  • Yeah man...Black Sabbath was pretending..so was Cream..and Led Zeppelin.. and Iron Maiden ..and Judas Priest...NOT..!!

  • @NonStopRocker You left out a host of other bands. The beatles, the stones, the who, and etc. Yeah, they were all trying to be like Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, and Buddy Holly initially. BTW I never considered cream and Led zepplin pure R&R. More like hard blues. (except for "anyone for tennis".) Black Sabbath? They never pretended. They were their own "thing" seperate from any other. Infact, you could say Iron Maiden and Priest were following them.

  • @mindeloman Yea....Sabbath pretented. That is the stupidest comment I've ever read. You are no doubt the most retarded person on the face of the planet. You make Forrest Gump look like Stephen Hawking. I will forever share with people that I have met the stupidest person alive.

  • @guitarsteve619247 Tisk, tisk. My, my you are an emotional one. You're getting bent out of shape over people who don't even know you're existence. Now how stupid is that? BTW did you read my last comment? Let me quote myself, "Black Sabbath? They NEVER pretended. They were their own thing seperate from any other". Have you ever heard of reading comprehension? I guess graduating from junior high was not a high priority for you.

  • How come there are no black people in this band?

  • If only Sammy and Ronnie could have gotten along better...maybe better than Van Halen.

  • Reminds me of their '76 tour in my town. Golden Earring opened for them.

    It was heaven on earth!

  • Saw sammy on his own tour and he was still Shit Hot !!!!!

  • 2:01

    awesome lick.

  • this totally rocks! i can remember first hearing Montrose back in the dim & distant 70's. i was blown away by Ronnie Montrose's guitar playing skill!

  • Comment removed

  • Montrose Rocks I can tell Rick Montrose was a big Influence on Paul Samson.

  • Sammy has like THE coolest hair... super bad ass

  • I read Sammy's book, Ronnie Montrose was an asshole to him.

  • @dekeus and eddie was weirdo............

  • Now that's rock

  • And kids, this is how you do it, period.

Don't try to get it at home with your stupid Pro-Tools, amp simulators and PODs. Get out of The Matrix.

If you're going to Rock, it's all about balls.

  • not gonna lie, phil x brought me here

  • Wow. Nice for me to find this. Great performance. Great quality vid.

  • God bless ya for not locking us out of this vid thank you

  • I cannot believe he's playing that D riff up the neck, bar-chord style. All you guitarists-try that-it's a 6-fret stretch. The Sweet guitarist does the same thing on the E chord on Ballroom Blitz. Not easy.

  • Thumper65...Your so full of shit!!! Or of your self!!

  • Sorry in a way kinda gave him some crap But this was one of the 1st albums I actually purchased with my paper route money and I wached them grow up too !

As Mr Bobby Brown Said "It's My Prerogative" Am I wrong ?

  • @thuumper65

Bragging on YouTube that you supposedly know Ozzy? Black Sabbath? (snicker)

    (OMG... as the kids say...)

  • lol baby sammy hagar how cute is that!

  • bunch of hacks

  • @misterobvious

    Your an ass clown

  • @jonnysocko

Montrose fan calls someone else an assclown. Definition of "irony".

  • @misterobvious

Go back to your page and listen to Rupert's People!

  • @jonnysocko

Britney Spears sold lots more CDs/records than Montrose. Does that make Britney "better"?

  • @misterobvious Dude Your in the wrong room, and the wrong leage too ! Please go find yourself some

Hip Hop, ! Rap Crap, ! Boy Band Bullshit , Autotuned (Because they can't carry a tune Music) to listen to And Let us Grownups enjoy our music in peace ! Oh ! And don't forget to brush your teeth before you go to bed and kiss Mommy Goodnight too !!! Thumbs up ? or Down ?

    Thuumper !!!

  • @thuumper65

    HA!

"dude", hate to break it to you, but "Bad Motor Scooter" by Montrose is not for "grownups". Anything related to Sammy Hagar is teenage music.

But my guess is you've been trapped in retarded adolescence since age 15. At least you got that GED though.

  • what a career Sammy. Just watched ChickenFoot Live. He does not mess around when it comes to a supporting cast.

  • whoose that on drums ?

  • @jivechump Denny Carmassi..he played for Heart in the 80's

  • nice pants red rocker

  • what happend to the slide guitar effect of a motorcycle shifting gears

  • So cool, my favorite rock drummer, DENNY CARMASSI! Awesome, I could watch him play all day.

  • Far out....... This is how it's done

  • I love rock and roll mahalo!

  • hey look its Robert Plant ;)

  • @DanDaMan2794 Bass Player looks hilarious

  • @SvenRock1 check out a band called guns n roses, check out their whole lotta rosie cover, london 1987, along with their music, its an amazing song

  • a pegada do som dessa banda era mto diferente das proprias bandas dos anos 70..qqer banda, qqer ritmo!!

  • Sammy is the MAN!

  • i hope you sued that asshole gary moore for nicking your guitar there was noway he did not know it was nicked gary moore was scum . HE EVEN GOT SUED $2 MILLON FOR SAYING HE WORTE STILL GOT THE BLUES and he fucked up the best band in the world THINLIZZY

  • @yorkshiretractors Gary never responded to the lawsuit, as he bought the guitar legitimately, and Ronnie was never able to pursue the case . Gary Moore was not scum. Where did you get your info about Still Got The Blues? And as much as I loved Thin Lizzy, Gary did not fuck the band up; Phil and Scott's heroin use did (and they freely admitted that).

  • The albums Montrose and Paper Money with the group Montrose are in my opinion the best rock albums whatsoever.

  • Look at the hair the clothes. Great songs.

  • Ronnie's Les Paul is worth about $ 300,000.......That's all......LOL

  • How the hell can you not like this video and band? This is awesome!!! Thanks man!!!

  • gO sAMMY!!!

  • people who don't like this song and video...must be foo fighters, godsmack, matchbox 20,nickelback fans

  • this is really bad( as in not good) whats with the high waisted pants and the camel toe( or the nut spliter)look and last but not least he( sammy) reminds me of the older brother on the "wonder years"

  • Great drummer.

  • So who thinks NWOBHM started in Britain?..thoughts?

  • @acrovader like you know?

  • @Mrtidesout

Yeah. I do know. This song sucks.
